  1. Is it possible to outlevel certain PVP badges and miss them forever? I'm level 50 and I'm wanting to get the badges in bloody bay and warbug, sirens etc.

If there is no recourse i'll be sad. I've madea point to get every badge so far....didn't know there were complete missable badges.

If I can't get them on my own can I team with someone who has the missions and get them that way perhaps?

  2. Hi all, I’m making a topic here in hopes of getting some trouble shooting tips since support tickets can be a lengthy wait process .

The day after I26 went live I had no issues .

at some point in the middle of the night that same day, the servers were rebooted due to frequent crashing (see maintenance notes)

Since then, anytime I logon I only stay online for 1-10 minutes at a time before getting “lost connection to map server” and booted back to the login.

My internet connection is fine and I have already revalidated my files.

    Any tips?

Attuned and Catalyzed are basically the same thing. What you're thinking of is Attuned and Boosted (using the enhancement boosters to raise it up to +5). An IO cannot be both boosted and attuned.

which one is better? can any changes be undone?

Just a quick note if you're running multiple instances on one computer:

    /maxinactivefps 5

on each instance will lower the framerate on the ones in the background to 5 frames per second. Also

    /noparticles 1

will turn off lots of sparklies if you don't need them.

Will the setting revert back to normal if you reboot the instances ?

Just launch the game a second time and you can have it running twice. You'll have to log in to different accounts though. You can't log into the same account twice.

Wow I did t know you could multi box on a single pc..... this changes everything  lol

  6. Back on live I used to pay someone per run to power level my alts. This was due to me not having a second gaming computer to power level my alts myself or having friends dedicated enough to the game, so my only recourse was paying someone x amount of influence per run.

Is this still a thing? Do people charge for AE farm runs ? Do it for free? What’s the norm on this?

    Thanks.

  7.  I can’t really see a good reason to not include this badge in the flashback system

While I’m aware of the missions are relatively easy and getting the badge usually isn’t an issue, sometimes bad luck happens like unexpectedly getting disconnected from the  Map server because your local Internet went down for maintenance unexpectedly or any number of reasons you could think of that can just be chalked up to bad luck.

It’s also especially crappy  that you have to get almost to level 50 to botch it. While  getting a toon to level 50 generally isn’t a hard thing to do, I would think that missing this badge on your toon that is supposed to be collecting all your badges is an issue.

Again I don’t see why something like this can’t simply be added in the flashback system,.   The badge  grants no game play advantage, it can only be used to  discourage people that are badge collectors from wanting to pick up the game for a while if they end up missing it.

I haven’t missed the badge, I’m actually probably going to get it tomorrow. I can just imagine how much it would suck though if I got really unlucky and I missed it forever as a badge collector .

     End of rant

Well, if we're going by D&D alignments, wouldn't he fall more under "Lawful Evil", since he kind of respects systems and rules - only that said systems and rules are extremely twisted and vile?  He's not acting randomly or without some plan/goal in mind.  I kind of envisioned "chaotic evil" as the bloodthirsty monster that randomly attacks passerbys or a gang that just attacks or robs people on a whim or with no provocation...

It complicated, evil alignments aren’t necessarily based off just a characters actions but their state of mind. Phipps respects the system only because if he didn’t he wouldn’t be in a position to live out his dark twisted fantasies .

He’s not dumb, he’s smart enough to realize his niche and not over step his bounds with arachnos.  He wouldn’t be doing his job unless he enjoyed it

It's pointless evil, that's why I find him unpleasant.  If I want actual evil I'll run Vernon Von Grun; at least he's doing it for science.  Phipps probably kicks puppies for fun.

Chaotic evil is a thing. And Phipps technically does have a goal. He states himself he keeps the dredges of society low so those in power can stay there. He also points out that since he’s undercover as a  philanthropist , it’s a good way to gather intel to feed to arachnos.  The guy just happens to like his work , hence Chaotic evil.

I actually quite enjoy his arc. I suppose it's my love for really dark fiction. I don't like gore horror like saw or hostel or that ilk of movie but I do love american horror story and that kind of twisted nastiness. The first time I did it I was actually impressed they went that dark. Almost all the rest is of the "beat opposition to a pulp and steal their stuff" kind of mission. It's nice to see a bit of actual evil instead of just naughty people being a bit bad. However i can see how people would find his storyline unpleasant.

Exactly ! I’m on my lore toon where I’m trying to get 100% completion (which means I’ve done close to 200 story arcs prior to this one, which is what compelled me to make this post) this was one of the few that stood out. Like you said most of it is beat up / kill person X, kidnap Y and steal Z.

Very few arcs were done out of pure evil for the sake of evil. Variety is the spice of life and it was nice not seeing another cookie cutter arc .

That being said I felt this was a world where there are a range of evil and types of villains. It’s nice to know that not everyone in COV is a Saturday morning cartoon villain, but to each his own .

Oh, I think quite knowingly poisoning people, whether being directed to do so or not, is quite villainous.  "We've already established that, now we're just haggling over the price," as the old story goes.

That’s actually the more tame part of the  dialogue . I was thinking more along the lines of the implied rape at the end was the dark part. And well laughing at blind children is pretty twisted too .
