  1. Maybe I am an outlier, but I like the change to the set with UM. I have always disliked the Rage crash to the point where, even though I took the power, I would only use it situationally. I like having the UM toggle available as a replacement, and the changes it gives to Hand Clap. I'd be fine with the SS changes on Beta going to live as-is.
  2. Well that fits me. I had a Dark Melee/Dark Armor scrapper, one of my first characters on Homecoming, that I had shelved at around level 34 because the endurance management was just brutal. Dark Armor just requires so many toggles active, and they are expensive toggles. It just wasn't fun to play. When they added the option for Obscure Sustenance, I gave it a try on a fresh build as a Dark/Dark Stalker, and was loving it! The set kind of turned into a regen build between the healing attack in Dark Melee and the Heal plus recovery from Obscure Sustenance. Leveling was so much more fun and fluid. I liked the set so much I even rolled up a Brute with it, though I haven't gotten very far with him. I also planned to respec that one scrapper into the power and see if I could get him going again. Only so much time in the day, though, so both are still "for future play." I still have not made it to level 50 with any of these three, but I really don't look forward to going back to dependency on lots of blues or taking a knee every few groups. I know I can just shelve them again and go play something else, but I was happy to see the new lease on life they were given when you added the new mutually exclusive option. As Shin posted, level 50 respec builds don't tend to use it anyway so you are only hurting us newly returned players still leveling characters, not the power-gamers or farmers or whoever this was intended to curtail. I guess I need to copy one over to Beta and see how bad it is, but I kinda like it the way it is now.
  3. Servers are down, Dan. They are working on it.
  4. I had played briefly in 2019 and ended up on Indomitable at the time. I had actually forgotten about that and when I came back a couple of months ago I was surprised to find I had a forum and game account already. Logged in, and amazingly enough, there was my roster of characters on Indomitable. About 5 of them, max was maybe level 14, all slotted up with TOs, broke, and nobody to play with at lower levels. So yeah, that shard had shrunken. After getting my bearings and realizing that transfers are free and character slots are essentially unlimited, I ended up settling down on Everlasting, Excelsior, and Torchbearer with different sets of toons. I tried to hold out for a while on Indomitable but it just worked out better for me to play on the more populated shards. Excelsior is as busy as you could want and there is always something going on. Everlasting is a bit less populated but still enough going on where there are things to do, and I have made some friends there. Torchbearer is smaller, but has a good, welcoming and friendly community. MMOs will always shrink, unless there is a steady influx of new blood and those new players are welcomed and helped by existing players. That is one thing that I have found consistent across all of the shards - everyone is helpful and understanding and new people are treated well.
  5. Maybe you are thinking about Jumpgate? It was space-based MMO that was active back then. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jumpgate:_The_Reconstruction_Initiative
