Let me guess.... They are reducing AE experience, lowering Brute's damage cap and nerfing Regen?

Good news though, the Regen nerf now actively drains life from you, the actual user, as you play it, slowly shredding your very soul through your router.

Having previous experience running a private server for another MMO, and being a mod author for a number of other games I can tell you that there's a huge time requirement that goes into not just coming up with the idea for what new feature or asset that you want, but coding it in, making a model, textures, sound files, testing it, finding out something went wrong, going back trying to fix it and breaking something else, coming back to fix that, retesting it, then deciding to change up a core function of what you were originally trying to do and retesting, etc., only hoping at the end of the cycle you have something that you feel confident enough for a public release.

Then you end up having other people picking apart your efforts, maybe some good comments, or catching a big here and there, but also some trolls and such as well. Then you go back and fix it again.

Sometimes you're never content with it and keep adding new things year after year and so on.

Then you realize that you're not being paid for any of that, you're married, have a full time job, a baby, a dog, and maybe occasionally want to catch a hockey game if at the end of the day you're not ready to wrap up in blankets in the fetal position to reset and do it all again.

At the end of the day, we as players aren't owed anything. We're playing a dead game being resuscitated at the hospital just clinging on for a few more moments. Any changes we're given are ultimately part of the contract we accept to play on any particular server (that said I still have my hills I'm willing to die on, hello superspeed stealth exclusivity).

Hell, I live in China and don't even have a bank card that would work with the voluntary payment to the server costs. I'm full up parasitic on this. I'm sucking the life force out of you all every time my internet connects well enough to play.

I'm confused: If you don't want hide, why not just make a scrapper?

More controllable criticals and burst damage. Stalkers got so heavily tuned out of a backstab niche using hide that you can just run them as a Scrapper.

Your question doesn't even make sense because it goes both ways. Why make a Stalker instead of a Scrapper? Well why make a Scrapper instead of a Stalker?

Oh? You came here for a spa retreat? Back to nature? That's interesting, I mean, a bit odd because it's Rhode Islan--wait, what was that address? Oh no. No. Do NOT go to Eden and please report your travel agent to the nearest authority.

Welcome to the Paragon City International Airport. All new arrivals, domestic or international, are required to pass through customs and present their travel itinerary at the Paragon City Police Department check-in booth for inspection. 5. Tourism in Paragon City is probably a form of extreme sports adrenaline holiday. Absolute lunatics go to the city to personally witness superpowered activities, both heroic and villainous, and the rush of ending up as a hostage or largely unharmed victim is what everyone hopes for.

I can imagine surprisingly co-operative tourists getting mugged by Hellions or Skulls and just gushing about it like fanboys, asking to take selfies with their muggers because "I'll save to the cloud, I can get it later anyway dude."

...and the gangers cheerfully go along with it 'cause why not?

As something that nags at me whenever I take a character into a zone with harbors or other navigable water, I want the game world updated to adhere to the IALA Maritime Buoyage Standard. As an indicator of how little this would affect things, in the entire live run of the game, I'm the only one who ever brought it up to the devs as an error, and it's a purely visual error.

For those who have no idea what I'm talking about, there is a worldwide standard for the shape, color, and placement of buoys as navigation markers; a vertically-striped red-and-white buoy means "clear water; deep-draft vessels may pass on any side"... and the game world has only that one type of buoy, often placing them right next to concrete piers or wharves. And fixing this would have zero effect on the way the game works; all it would do is stop the jarring feeling every time I see that buoy placed somewhere inappropriate.

I've changed my mind, I would instead like to see an order of magnitude more vertically striped red and white buoys in the game, all placed in ever more inexplicable and blatantly wrong positions.

At this point, anyone who loses "their" names has had, what, three years' worth of warnings that this policy was going to be implemented at some unknown future date? Plus about six months of more specific, direct, in-game notices that it was coming more imminently.

And if you log in once, just once, for literally any amount of time, the absolutely COLOSSAL timer is reset. If you really couldn't or wouldn't simply log in a toon long enough to go to the menu and log back out.....you're not using that name.

Honestly, level 50's shouldn't be immune to this.

How many of those are "desirable" names and not just gibberish?

Who cares? What's your actual problem here? That you won't get the very specific bunch of names you want and presume them to be locked forever on some old account? All basically abandoned names will be freed up, and if the ones you want aren't in it.....tough. Get over it. You've been making characters just fine up until now without them.

    2 million accounts.

I’d bet that if you add up the total players so far in 2023, it doesn’t equal 2 million.

Now, just to be clear.  I only posted that to show that there will be more than a few dozen, or even a couple hundred names released (which is what was being speculated).  Whether you like it, or even agree with it - I don’t care.  I was simply pointing out what had been posted elsewhere.

I would expect 2 million to be orders of magnitude higher than the active playerbase.

  10. The real question is how long it took you to realise the hilariously obvious twist was coming. And if it was only when you saw the contact, you're gonna have to retake any qualifications you hold.

    Yes, all of them.

  11. Given the sudden appearance of so many of them, either there's a newly discovered vulnerability, a disgruntled loser having a tantrum, or the site just got 'found'.

All three of these problems are solved in the short term by turning off new member signups while you dig a moat and fill it with barbed wire.

    Kheldians are awesome!

Counseling and other forms of psychological help are freely available online these days, for every competitive prices. It may take a few tries to get the help you need, but hey, if you think Kheldians are awesome you're used to dealing with shit anyway. ❤️

City of Data says they deal negative energy damage.  I also checked a few other pets, and none have a resistance to quantum like reverberant does...

Kheldians will magically cause some enemy spawns to be these Kheldian hunting Quantum spawns, and they used to deal this special kind of damage that did massive (I think unresistable) extra damage to Kheldians and basically made soloing a Kheldian extraordinarily difficult at best, and just impossible for most. The idea was that Kheldians are forced to only ever play on teams, which would murder Quantum mob spawns for them.

There were two problems with this:
    1) Kheldians are shit. They absolutely didn't need a special measure to keep them in check or force them to team.
    2) Kheldians are shit. Quantum spawns also messed with damage compositions in enemy spawns or whatnot I think, and made things generally annoying for other team members. Or it might even have been that being an entirely different damage type meant it was unresistable to EVERYONE.....so super annoying.

You might think those are the same problem....and you would be right. It just needs to be said more than once. Kheldians are shit. So having a team member who turns mobs into annoying different mobs that murderstomp that team member who is already kinda garbage compared to having someone else.....yeah. So no-one wanted to play a Kheldian, and no-one wanted to team with a Kheldian.

So they changed the anti-Kheldian enemies to use negative energy instead.

Kheldians are still shit though, so it didn't matter.
