  1. The title gets to the root of it, any opinions on the combo of Gravity/Kinetics? I have very little Controller experience, having only a Dark/Dark at incarnate levels and an Illusion/Rad just shy of 50, and I am not sure how well the sets mesh, or how fidgety they will be. Thanks in advance for any advice or input.

I see I'm -also- not the only one who copies the full bio to a text file, alters it, then deletes the original in game with many extra backspaces and delete presses, and only then pastes it in.

"Where?!? Where are the extra characters? Where did they come from? WHY ARE THEY DOING THIS TO ME?!??!"

Oof, I see I'm not the only one. With space at a premium it was annoying to discover this bug.

Seriously, twice the size of bios would be amazeballs.

Yes, the phantom bio characters has been an issue since live... it would be nice to be able to use the full character allotment. Would also be nice to be able to edit a bio without it sprouting magical characters in my sleep.

  4. Hello all ye sages of tankeriness!

As the topic said, I need advice on which path to choose for my T-4 Assault Hybrid, Core for the increased damage chance, or Radial for the extra damage "proc" chance.

The character in question is an Electric Armor/Titan Weapon Tanker. I am just not sure which would actually give more benefit in the long run, so I ask any of you wizards of builds and maths what you would suggest.

    Thanks!

  5. I have been leveling up an Electric Armor/Titan Weapons tanker this past week... no xp buffs, no farming, just soloing content (started in Praetoria) with a Mortimer Kal run and an ITF run thrown in. The character is level 41 currently, and I have no idea what is a good rotation for TW or not, but the character performs pretty smoothly. I found that even at low levels when I had just 2 and then 3 attacks, things cycled well enough that I spent very little time waiting for an attack. But I am intentionally taking my time and trying to get a feel for the power set so that i have some idea beyond button mashing when I get to 50.

Mine was a tank, who only made it to about 30 before I remembered why I'd never been a big fan of playing Super Strength tanks. 😝

Mine was a SS/Bio tanker... it was fine, just, the RP drive behind the character kinda died on the vine.

Poor Able... That name just seems to be cursed.

*HOW* many of us have tried (and failed-) to find something to do with it now?

I had a concept, leveled to 50 and then... he just kinda sat there lost among my characters.

He was a massive, bald, bearded ex-con who was working as a crisis counselor for at risk youth in low income areas, while paying the bills as a pro wrestler in the local circuit... who was suddenly imbued with super human powers, and ended up as the protector of his neighborhood.

But I just couldn't get into playing him for any RP, and that just made him yet another character on the roster...

  8. Was tinkering with a character in Praetoria, and was using Robotic Arm 1 as the Upper Body setting. When I tried to use the Lebeaux (1 and 2) top, the color would not change and was the same color as my character's skin tone (top most of the Blue skin colors, 3 in from the right). Any other Chest option colored properly, but no matter what color was set, the Lebeaux top would not. I tried at multiple Tailor/Trainer locations, multiple costume slots, logged out and logged back in, tried various times over a 2 day period, and no change. When I used the Lebeaux top with the Tops With Skin Upper Body option, it colored properly.

Update: I tried it with Robotic Arm 2 and Robotic Arm 3 as the Upper Body settings. Arm 2 it colors properly, Arm 3 it has the same issue as Arm 1.

  9. So, I had been wanting to find some sort of DB character that felt effective, and I wanted to play a Stalker... saw this thread and decided to give @SwitchFade's build a shot.

Level 29 now, basically just bought the Prestige Enhancements and DO enhancements and used the new upgrade system until level 10, then started focusing on my 3 attacks, getting the full 6 slots for the ATOs and the 5 slots for the Universal Damage set. I put the Shield Wall +Res into Hide at 10, started focusing on Kinetic Shield at 17 to get the full Reactive Set in there, Put the Panacea Proc in Health at 10 as well, and added a slot for the Miracle at 17, Kinetic Dampening got a second slot at 19 so I could have both +Def uniques. I put the Force Feedback chance for Recharge Proc into Kick so that I could help plug my attack chain and get the recharge boost. And at level 22 I slotted the LotG +75% recharge IOs into Power Shield and CJ, then added a slot at 23 for Hide, as well as 2 slotting Stamina with the Perf Shifter EndMod and +Stam. Also tossed level 25 IOs of EndRed into Entropy SHield and RcXRed into Build Up and Hasten. Now at 29 I have another LotG +RcX in Energy Drain, and 5/6 slotted in Sweeping Strike.

I also went and bought 8 Hours of the P2W temp buffs around level 19, and those have let me just keep soloing at +2/x2, including the Winter Event Missions and Story content.

From 14-28 I was eating the occasional blue inspiration, and during some fights I would eat a purple or a red, depending on what I had, but so far, bosses, Elite Bosses like in the Darrin Wade arc, doesn't matter, she just "Stalkerlocks" everything. It really is crazy how effective this build is.

  10. I farm to level up new concept characters and get some seed money to get them started for the most part, but I will also farm to help other folks level up. However, I do farm sometimes as a zen like thing, it is simple, soothing and repetitive to help me unwind, and I can do it while chatting with friends in game. I mean, it isn't "fun" per se... it is fairly monotonous... but I find it relaxing and enjoyable all the same. I don't AFK farm (aside from getting up to grab a drink while in a mission or something), and I don't generally solo grind farm for cash, because I prefer to chat with folks while doing it.

  11. I have no solid info to add, but just woke up and am sipping my coffee and scrolling through the forum, and I swear I thought this said, "Best Dancing combo for MM". And I thought, "Wow, that would be interesting to know..."

    Able is up for grabs,

I swiped Able, he is now a bald, bearded former biker and n'er do well, suddenly imbued with mighty powers and trying to do right for the downtrodden denizens of his rundown neighborhood. Also a Tanker (Inv/SS)

  13. I would recommend a DM/SD Scrapper. It has the defenses to keep you alive in most situations, added damage when surrounded, and a teleport AOE makes up for DMs relatively lackluster AOE attacks. While DM gives you an attack heal, a stamina recovery AOE, and a to hit debuff built in to bolster your survivability, while having excellent single target damage for AVs. Plus it is fun!

  14. Released a few names into the wild:

    Ms Cosmic
    Goldfire
    Agent Blank
    Shoutcast
    Mary Lou Tsoo
    Teen Cosmic
    Sword of God
    Snow Lily
    British Harrier
    Micro-Might
    Silver Goliath
    Dreadzone

    Penny Umbral

    Society

    Silver

    Miss Supreme

  15. Wow, this is an old thread...

I went Bio/Claws some time ago with the character. It is OK, but I have so many Tankers, Brutes and a few Scrappers, that the character is kinda back burner at the moment.

As for Titan Weapons, not so much. I have a TW brute... hate it. I hate the animations, I hate the way it plays, and I hate the Final Fantasy/Anime style oversized weapons trope in and of itself. Also, given how much it over performs, I expect it will eventually get hit with some form of Titan sized Nerf bat. I know some folks just love it, I am not one of them. And if I can't stand the looks/animation, I can't play it, no matter how mechanically beneficial it is.

  16. Howdy folks,

Question on attunement, if I recall from Live, the "Purple" sets (Hecatomb, Ragnarok, Apocalypse, and so on) gave their full bonuses when leveled down (sidekicked or what have you), without needing to waste a Catalyst to attune them. Is this still the case? Or do I need to use a Catalyst to make the Purple sets function as originally intended?

  17. I find Bio more fun, but definitely more busy than Invuln.

I have the requisite Invuln/SS Tanker, and while she is very stout, she is also kinda dull after a while. I have a Bio/Claws Tanker, but that one is still being slotted out, so not a fair assessment.

However, I have a DM/Bio Scrapper, and that character is just absurd. The durability and offensive output enabled by the Bio options is kinda nuts. It is certainly a busy set though, you don't have the inherent resistance to anything beyond S/L and Toxic, so you have to pay attention a bit more, however, the side effect of the DM powers being a to hit debuff greatly enhances an already super survivable set. The only time I die on the character is when I get reckless in a solo +4/x8 Dark Astoria Incarnate missions against Banished Pantheon packs, because there can be so many types of damage and debuffs at once.

It's worth noting that if you are monitoring your flight speed in Combat Attributes, the total speed is correct, but all the sub-components are lying to you. They fail to include the 1.5x modifier that fly gets. So you might be seeing that. If you like, take a picture of what you're seeing and I can maybe see what's going on.

When I get a chance I will respec a build and use generic Fly IOs to get the same speed... But what I had (in game actual flight speed, not theory crafting) was capped at 35ish (not entirely sure) and there was a combat attribute red, negative number under Hover that when highlighted said something like, "max Hover speed reached" or somesuch.
