Yes, I created a game account and I am using its username and password. Would those being the same on both my forum and game account be an issue?

It shouldn't be.  Wouldn't hurt to change the game account password though and try that.

Edit: Also make sure that your game account password is fifteen characters or less.  The game is old, it can't handle more than that.

  2. Seeing as that a lot of folks do not check the calendar for some reason or another, I thought I'd bring this to people's attention here as well.  Saturdays are going to be shaken up a little. Starting this Saturday, June 11th:

    • The UIT supergroup will hold its normal three Hamidon raids in The Abyss at 2 P.M. ET/11 A.M. PT/8 P.M. CET. You must be level 45+ to join. You can get to The Abyss via the Smuggler's Submarine in Peregrine Island, Kallisti Wharf, or Grandville.  Please use Broadcast once in zone to obtain an invite to the league.
    • The UIT supergroup will also hold a bi-weekly instanced Rikti mothership raid at 3:15 P.M. ET/12:15 P.M. PT/9:15 P.M. CET. You must be level 35+ and have the Member of Vanguard badge to join. There will be a 200 million INF kill shot prize on the Rikti drop ship! You can read more about the instanced Rikti mothership raid here.
    • The instanced Rikti mothership raid will alternate every other week with a game-wide giant monster hunt at 3:15 P.M. ET/12:15 P.M. PT/9:15 P.M. CET! Never take down Caleb or the Seed of Hamidon before? Well, now is your chance! You must be on a Vigilante or Rogue aligned character to participate in all zones.
    • Immediately following the instanced Rikti mothership raid or game-wide giant monster hunt will be three Cathedral of Pain trials and Incarnate trials hosted by the UIT supergroup in Pocket D. You must be level 50 to join.
    • The Early Bird Hamidon raid crew will hold three Hamidon raids in The Hive at 6 P.M. ET/3 P.M. PT/12 A.M. CET, followed by Little Claw's three Hamidon raids in The Hive. You must be level 45+ to join. You can get to The Hive via Founder's Falls > Eden. Please use Broadcast once in zone to obtain an invite to the league.

Hope to see y'all on Saturday!

I mostly PUG because even though I allegedly have friends on my Global list, most of those names stay dark grey. Even my search for Smashing Lethal helpers found people who never seemed to log in again. So PUG it is! Your friends won't be there for you, but the randoms will!

Tell me about it.  I have over 120 people on my global friends list.  Never see more than about 20 now.  Some days there are only a couple on.

  4. FWIW, while thematic those power sets don't mesh well at all.  Sonic Blast has a bunch of cones, so you want to stay at range.  However, Sonic Manipulation wants you in melee range of enemies at all times to apply that sweet -res debuff from Disruption Aura.  It's like Dark Blast/Darkness Manipulation... thematic, but extremely at odds with one another.

If you want Sonic Blast, I'd recommend Devices, Energy Manipulation, Tactical Arrow, or Temporal Manipulation for secondary.  If you want Sonic Manipulation, I'd recommend Dual Pistols, Fire Blast, Psychic Blast, or Radiation Blast as primary.

Maybe the times have changed. Back on Live - you NEVER EVER quit a task force. It's just plain rude. Granted, those were days when team composition mattered. Lose a blaster, and you lose key dps. Lose a tank and it might as well reform. Every player was important then.

Now, I guess it's because we're older, smarter and can do the harder math - we can build our characters to be self-sufficient. Still, quitting a task force is a no-no in my book. Then, I'd be the jerk in action if not in attitude.  Unless something severe happens in real life, you just don't quit a task force.

I saw it all of the time while PUGing on Excelsior... like once a day.  Have only ever seen it twice on Torchbearer in the past fourteen months.  Excelsior is too large, like a big city, where you can get away with that kind of stuff without it coming back to haunt you, unlike smaller shards where most people know one another and there are reputations.  I don't think it's out of malice or self-centeredness most of the time, mostly just ignorance brought on by only doing radio/newspaper missions and/or AE farms, and not realizing that teams on TFs, SFs, and trials are locked in and the team leader can't recruit someone else after you leave.

If the team is struggling it's time to drop the difficulty. Too many pug leaders think everything must be run at +4 no matter what.

Then you run across the PUGs who demand that the leader set the mission/TF/SF at +4 because they're used to being carried and think that if there's one or two level 50 characters on the team (even if they're both Controllers), then it should be no problem, and get upset and leave if you don't set it at +4.  I've had that happen quite a few times, especially on ITFs.

Personally, I'd love to completely block powerset/bonus listings. I don't need anyone feeling judgemental because I do or don't have something. Nobody else's damn business, as far as I'm concerned.

No, you need to know that information ahead of time to plan.  If you're doing a +3 speed run MLTF, and the PUG Tanker only has three IO enhancement sets in his or her build, expect for the Tanker and you to die a lot without sufficient support to back that Tanker up... it's happened to me twice in the past three weeks.  Both Tankers, coincidentally.  Bad times.

Except you need to pug to find those friends and if they dont pug outside their friend circle then there is only a small chance for the 2 to meet.

Exactly.  I came to Homecoming with about 40 friends and associates... all but a small handful stopped playing completely by mid-last year, so I had to start PUGing again.  Even eventually switched shards and made new friends. :classic_biggrin:

  9. One very minor thing you may want to mention is that you need to at least start Mr. Rodney's missions before doing a Dr. Aeon SF, or he'll completely disappear from the world.  The only way you'd be able to do the cape and aura missions then would be via Ouroboros Flashback.

Correct me if I'm wrong but that power looks like it's giving you 100 mag kb protection

It gives mag -100 knockback protection, but +10,000% knockback resistance, which I just read as canceling each other out, which I thought was odd.  I could be (and it looks like) that I was wrong.

I could have sworn that I saw a Dark Armor Tanker get knocked around after Page Three went live, so between that and the above I just never tried it and deleted my Electric Armor characters.

Hrm...  May be time to power level another Electric Armor character and see.

Really? CoD said something like I only need mag 18, and I easily tanked LR a week or so ago with just that on Electric armor…. Maybe I have always had outside protection (Increase Density? IDK) but I have never been knocked back on an Electric tank with Grounded plus a couple other KB protection bonuses??

IMO you want Electric or Radiation Armor vs Lord Recluse. Stone has too little energy resistance. You’d be reliant on support or lots of inspirations.

If someone could help me interpret CoD’s KB mags for LR that would be great 🙂 My squad never destroys red tower btw.

I know at least prior to Page Three, I've tried tanking Lord Recluse with 31 points of knockback protection between IOs and the Defense Amplifier, and no go.  He just kept knocking me around silly.  Increase Density would do it.  Back on live, I always teamed with a Kin that spammed Increase Density on me, so I never got knocked back.  On Homecoming, that hasn't been an option so I'd get knocked back silly.

Ah wasn't aware of that - hadn't tanked him with elec since before that.

Im not near a computer. How many pts of kb protection does grounded get?

    15.  Most of my Elec Armor builds have anywhere between 25 and 29 with set bonuses and KB protection IOs.  For reference, here is Lord Recluse's newest addition:

Are you opposed to getting hover?  Reason i ask is i have tanked that at least 100 times on my Rad Elec Brute and never had any issues tanking Recluse - Hover will allow him to remain stationary but cut a flip in mid air to mitigate the KB.

Elec is a beast in that TF for me traditionally though - and Recluse' channelgun wont phase your endurance.

As I edited in, hovering is no longer an option.  That's what I used to do, but as of Page Three, Lord Recluse now has an attack that does -fly which will immediately ground you.  Then knockback city.

  13. Speed of Sound is better than Super Speed, on Brutes and Tankers.  You get the speed, and keep your threat magnifier.  Every Tanker I play and every Brute I intend to tank with takes it over Super Speed for that reason.  I've had Tankers complain that they had to work to get the aggro off of my Brute with Speed of Sound, compared to other Brutes using Super Speed. :P  I realize while speeding with Speed of Sound on a Brute or Tanker that I'm going to aggro things on the way, but honestly that's half the fun.  I bring surprise aggro to my teammates in the final room. :classic_tongue:

Converters don't even break 100k.  There's no way they were at 5 million, or even 1.3 million, unless there's a serious bug.  Are you sure he was trying to purchase the correct item?

He said converter, but by the end it changed to booster, which makes a lot more sense.

And yeah, I've noticed that things are starting to go for absolutely outrageous prices.  I've seen an Unbreakable Guard: Resistance/Endurance not sell for less than ten million INF, and Shield Walls going for 20 million INF.  It's definitely still far from live prices, but it's definitely quite a bit higher than it was a year and a half ago.
