Even with a full set IO'd out build, both my Demons/Elec and Beasts/Dark use a TON of endurance that I have to be super careful about. For Demons/Elec, before even using whip attacks, the End cost for keeping everyone healed, absorbed, and moving my shield with the group is just barely not made up for by the +45-55% (depending on if Perf Shifter procs) endurance I get from a super min-maxed Energizing Circuit, so I often have to slow my buffing. If I want to use Whip? Well the team better hope they don't break through the absorbs I'm spamming because I can't afford to heal AND attack. Thus I only attack hard targets like Elite Bosses and above.
For Beasts/Dark, it's the same, Call Hawk + everything in Dark is unsustainable because it not only lost it's +recovery power for MM's crappy Hold, but increased the cost of everything and just having the toggles for dark on alone (with ~ 59% end reduction!) still costs 0.9 end/s not to mention summoning my servant or using howling twilight STILL costs 22 endurance EACH with tons of end reduction in them, so goodbye chunks of endurance while I wait 21 seconds (not an exaggeration, that's literally how long it takes, with Panacea, Perf Shift, Miracle) to get that back, not counting using any other powers or any other toggles like Maneuvers or Tough.

Sorry but "even with just normal IO's, your end is going nowhere depending on sets" is not my experience and I like to believe I know how to make a half decent build. You must be standing around using passive abilities or using a Time or Kinetic both of which can recover vast amounts of endurance and shouldn't really be considered for that reason alone.

You simply missed my post/point from earlier in the thread....to keep it simple. If you're spamming (which I mentioned) and or forcing toggles, etc. Even then you can YT of MM's not running out of end fully slotted with IO sets.  On my Demons/Thermal I'm never running out of end Read carefully next time or YT some runs/builds. Don't quote me if you aren't gonna take the time to read.

  2. At this point, I would suggest you guys look up some MM videos, and realize that their end is only dropping because they're either attacking or summoning Pets that die. My point however, was that the end bar barely moves if all you're doing is commanding pets and healing from time to time. Coupled with how fast end game radio missions go and even BAF....your end doesn't see much movement unless you're forcing it to, with the use of toggles and everything mentioned.

Well, let's clarify that we are talking about MMs in general and not your very narrow use case of one character with a specific combo and specific build

Move the goal post all you want...but the truth is....even with just normal IO's, your end is going nowhere depending on sets....which is  my point.

In general however, unslotted, yes, you will run out of end if you're intensive with your secondary powers. Do I have to post vids from YT on here? There's plenty of people who record solo content, and that endurance bar goes nowhere.

So yes...Unslotted, your end is gonna drain (if you're blasting/healing away)

Slotted...its more than fine and standing still.

  4. With STJ you're going to have to take every power (due to the finishers) which look good but can be a bit taxing on the powers.

EM is very strong single target, with total focus being the dream.

Between the two, STJ is more aesthetically pleasing.

  5. Its been established, Demons wins over everything....

Secondary wise, Thermal has two debuffs, shields, a rez, and two heals. I really want to say any other secondary, from Rad, to Dark, but Thermal is so utilitarian that I would be stupid to think to use anything else...but specifically to your case, yeah, thermal.

  6. Thugs are second best in the game....traps on the other hand....

I have a twisted on and off love affair with traps.  To keep it short; Web Grenade, Caltrops and Trip mine, are pretty useless end game (web all game), if you're using them to mule, of course knock yourself, but as standalone powers, pure basura.

  7. To be fair, even when they were first released, MM"s were never about running through enemies. We have Blasters/Corr's for that. My job is to debuff/heal, At those levels, trash mobs should be dealt with swiftly, your target(s) are LT's, Bosses, and of course AV's. Idk about anyone else, but even when CoX was released, I still found teams and enjoyed myself. ...then again, I also read what the class entailed carefully. I knew I would be healing/buffing and debuffing....I was NOT a wrecking ball, that was for Brutes , Scrappers, Blasters and Corrs. I got on teams because I was far more flexible with how I dealt dmg and how I helped out the team in general.

My only problem with MM's has been how short lived the weaker sets are (Ninjas I'm looking at you), and how more pets needed aoe. Making a Demons /Thermal has been way more fun than my previous Ninja/Dark build. But again, I was never delusional about what my role was/is.

I'm sure his 16.5 endurance healing aura is really doing the job while he hopes his pets auto attack things to death for 23 dmg ^_^

Natrure and time are set it and forget it heals...which take no kind of end when you're slotted....

but sure, lets pretend my end is running out?

  9. 5 hours ago, JayboH said:

Not only is that not true, if it was true then the endurance penalty is bugged

In combat....obviously to summon and buff pets takes end....but running through missions its a breeze.

Even if I'm healing, just with regular IO's, my end is going nowhere. Even more so, if we have Time and or Nature Corr's/Defenders. Now if we're talking about full set IO's, and Incarnates....yes, end goes nowhere, and that's just fine.

I get that for most of the game, AOE is king of basically any mission clearing.  That doesn't mean, every set has to be good at it.  Or even decent at it.

And for everyone claiming AOE is king, they have plenty of AOE options out there.

I feel you there, but all EM is Martial arts, with better aesthetics and pom poms. It needs to be more solid for end game runs (without io sets even). It just becomes relegated to AV's, which is always annoying. I suppose that'll always be the case though, I don't see any of the fixes we've mentioned, actually changing the life of the AT.

Oh heck no.  Masterminds are dang near PERFECT.  The focus isn't on the player by design,  you are there to ferry your minions from one target to the next and you are there to supplement their damage and keep them alive/the target debuffed.  I do wish they'd go with passive equip buff other servers have going on but no,  they do not need to be replaced with more personal powers.  If you want more focus on the player go play a archetype that doesn't rely on or even HAVE minions,  geez.  Plenty of blasters,  scrappers, ETC out there for you to play as without trying to change a playstyle other people like.

Yeah he's definitely playing the class wrong, and needs to implement defensive stance. My MM can take alpha strikes from groups at 50+, with regular IO's, with set pieces, its just ridiculous.

  12. Was there on beta...

Vanilla CoV was better than CoH, it was an expansion with more areas, flexible AT's, Masterminds,  fun missions, etc. I love both, but if you think CO is better than Homecoming, you're just trying to incite. Seeing as everything you do in this game is optional. Are classes OP? Yes, but so was the Ill/Rad and Rad/Rad powers. Fire/Kins was FOTY, and  Fire/Ice tanks could solo GM's. Let's not cherry pick, it had both of what it has now....except now we can get PL'ed more effectively, and still run old missions/arcs.

CO had the Beast class, which was running around soloing everything. Which is my point, every game has those few classes that are OP.

Dated graphics? Sure, but go ahead and try cel shaded mode, tweak that a bit.....because WoW didn't get much of a facelift, and people still play Ultima. The graphics debate, is a strawman at this point in gaming.

In the end; CoX is everything we wanted, more powers, more flexibility, great missions, user friendly, more QoL buffs, and even a cel shaded mode...all this for free; that alone makes it 10X better.

Someone keeps showing up on Excelsior with wrestling homage characters.  I’ve seen Hulk Hogan, Randy Macho Man Savage, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Capt Lou Albano and even Andre the Giant.  They are all level 1 and usually just stand under Atlas Statue and flex but....pretty accurate costumes and some fun macros.  Roddy sometimes even runs a “Vipers Pit” segment and interviews one of the others.

I’ve also seen a very good Dante homage playing a DP/Ninja blaster.  Too bad we don’t have backpacks showing a sword strapped to back like with the quivers though.

    You're welcome brother!~

Just because AOE is king on PI radio teams, does not mean one has to up AOE on sets.

That said, I know I suggested keep Stun a ST Stun, one can keep it's damage low, but make it a targetted AOE for damage, and it can be made into a proc attack.

To be accurate, and fair; AoE is king in everything but AV/GM fights....so that's not even 5% of the game? Turning TF into a single target PBAOE would be nice for when you're literally doing everything else.

Apparently once again I am just the opposite as the rest of the community, but I for one would HATE to see SS on Scrappers. I should have suggested this first so the community can disagree with me, lol.

    SS high five son!

You're a good egg....a good knockout blow of an egg.

  16. You can have single target dmg with an aoe splash attached.....this way both parties get what they want. This isn't a new concept, WoW and FFXIV have done this years ago. Initial dmg, followed by a trickle down of dps to enemies in a cone or circle.  Again however, two powers being AoE does not make it and aoe based set.

Also as has been stated....even on PI radio teams, aoe is king. So either they have to turn up the dmg of aoe's like Whirling Hands and or, make TF PBAOE with a single target being selectable, ala the Warshades Unchain Essence.

  17. The set is too simple as it is. QoL buffs, need to be made. You want people to actually choose the set because its more than pretty....I want a useful set. If I take a power that is basically a stun, I want it to actually stun something more than fodder. It also desperately needs another AoE, In my opinion; turning TF into a PBAOE would be much better than it just being single target. If you think that's over complication, than you need to look at "simpler" sets, that do a lot more. For example....Katana Melee, or even SS.

So... when are the energy melee nerfs going to be removed?

    😀

PS: Yes, I'd be down with a higher magnitude knock value as well, as the one person suggested. 16.62 is such an odd number... maybe an even 20 mag please?  (most AV's and GM's have something like a 100 mag protection so they're safe)

I'm guessing the GM's thought IO's would be stronger the added effect side....and while that may be true for IO's, individual powers that contain stun aren't really useful endgame. I always found it weird on release, how a lot of the stuns were pretty much gimmicks. So if we don't get controller-like mag's (even though the numbers are the same, MAG-3) then why even bother grabbing up a power that 1; Is on a long cooldown, and 2; will never have high stun?

Can't say I'm for to much if any added AOE to EM.  Stun doing additional AOE as a Targeted AOE like Spinning Strike, while keeping the low damage (people can proc it) works enough.  I'd rather see EM become one of the top ST sets.

Single target is more than fine...but if we're gonna be the Top....EM needs -Def as well as high stun. Speed hasn't been an issue, its just that each strike feels ineffectual. You're just there to do a lot of dmg and that's....its too one dimensional even with the added effects.
