I'm thinking of making an old school AV killing Dark Melee Scrapper, but I don't know whether to go with Super Reflexes or Invulnerability as my secondary. Which of the two would you all recommend as the more survivable secondary for AV killing... I mean defeating? Or maybe you have an even better suggestion for a secondary that doesn't necessarily go full on old school, but still does a fantastic job when combined with Dark Melee?

On live, my main was a Claws/Regen from i3. When the nerfs started hitting Regen hard, it became a set I couldn't play anymore. I just hated the changes they made to it. I was truly saddened by these changes. On Homecoming I rerolled my old main as a Claws/WP, and I love him. WP is the set which Regen once was, and now wishes it could be. If they reverted some of the nerfs on Regen, I may well be tempted to give it another shot. Until then though, it's a dead powerset to me.

1) This is old, and I have a better build listed in my guide.
2) Empty IO slots in attacks are meant to hold Sudden Acceleration KB to KD. At the time of writing, that set was not in Mids/Pine's.
Your guide is a thing of beauty! I shall sit and read as much of it as possible.

Was just looking at the second build you posted. Why do you have empty slots?
-
The optimal attack chains for WM are Clobber - Jawbreaker - Shatter for ST and Shatter - Crowd Control - Whirling Mace for AoE. Now I don't remember the exact recharge numbers you need to achieve gapless, but I'm certain you can't achieve them without hasten. Shatter is the only attack that is used in both, thus it's a pretty good place for Critical Strikes. If you want to focus on ST dps howerer, it's better to put a 5 pieces of Armageddon and a Fury of the Gladiator -res proc. Also, Pulverize is pretty much useless outside of leveling/exemplaring and is somewhat overslotted. You can easily remove 2 slots from it and use it as your Kinetic Combat mule.
Thanks for the help with an attack chain. I'm currently levelling up a War Mace Brute, and was wondering what the optimal attack chain would be.
-
What attack chain would be optimal for War Mace?
-
Claws/Regen is and always has been my main. Once you start throwing IO sets into it, it becomes a beast. If I were to choose an alternative to Regen though, I'd definitely go WP. It's one of those set and forget secondaries. Toggle everything on, then steamroll through enemies without a care in the world.

On the old official CoH forums, there was a thread where someone was doing requests to make costumes for people. I had a costume made for me by that person, and it looked practically identical to this. Are you the person who made that costume for me?
It is indeed me, Robot Henri at your service! How you doing Cheese Slicer, good to see you're back. Would be great to get that costume and fan art thread going again, I was just thinking about it the other day. I'd do it myself but, you know... lazy ;)
Hey man! It's great to see you. At first, I thought someone was stealing ideas off the old forum lol. You're a great costume maker. You should get a new thread going yourself.

I used to stand on top of the Atlas Statue, and teleport new players over the edge. They'd panic as they thought they were about to die, but obviously never did. I made up for giving them a scare by giving them some influence to start them off.

Ah FFS! I didn't even realise Vengeance was toggled on... I thought I'd cracked it with soft-capped S/L defense and massive S/L resistance :-\
How's this? I took some of your advice, and ignored some lol. Soft-capped S/L, nearly as much S/L resistance as before, and better endurance recovery while using less endurance per second. Hasten is still practically permanent as well (Less than half a second away from being permanent).

I thought I'd try making a Dark Melee/Fiery Aura Brute build, as I might roll one at some point in the near future. It's a mash-up of a few other builds I've seen on the old and new forums. Please let me know what you think of the build, and if there's anywhere I could improve it.

The big trend at the moment is Spines/Fire. It's a great AOE combination, and people are using it for farming.
-
I had a pure Dark Scrapper back when the game was live. He was a bit of an end hog, but he was so much fun to play as (especially when I started slotting him with IOs).
-
Would the OP build be viable to use as a leveling build? I have a low lol DM/SR I'd like to get go 50.
-
Thanks for the responses. I'm still torn. I'm going to have a bit more of a play around in Pines with both secondaries, and see where I get.
-
Reminiscing about the old days of CoH, I remember DM/SR being a go-to build when it came to AV and GM soloing. With that in mind, I was considering rolling one as I never made one when the game was live. Then I realised Ninjitsu is available for Scrappers, and now I'm torn between Ninjitsu and SR. I've noticed in Pines that SR can get much higher Defense Resistance, but is seems Ninjitsu can get much higher Knockback Resistance. Other than that, I don't really know a great deal about either powerset. So, which is the better secondary out of SR and Ninjitsu, especially when it comes to AV and GM soloing?
-
I have two builds, but don't know which I prefer. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm really enjoying my Rad/WP right now. I recommend giving Rad a go.
-
I'm willing to save for it. If it works out well, It'll be worth saving for. My old Claws/Regen was one of my favourite toons from live.
-
I've thrown together this bit of craziness, but does it look like a viable and effective build? I understand that it'll be ridiculously expensive, but I'm happy to save up my pennies until I can afford it.

Please give me some constructive criticism. I'm really enjoying this toon, and want something to work towards when he hits 50.
-
Please have a look at this, and let me know what I could do to improve it further without spending 100s of millions more.

Thanks. I really appreciate the depth you went into with your response. After asking the question, I actually played around with an Ice/Dark build on Mids (or whatever it's called now). It was an interesting build to look into. I don't claim to be an expert at builds, but I fashioned together a pretty decent (if expensive) build.
Dark/SR or Dark/Inv?

Thanks for your response. I was actually looking at DM/Shield as another alternative. The added AoE from Shield Charge would be handy when I'm teaming, or just taking on larger numbers of enemies alone.
