  1. Do any of you have this game? If you're interested, I'm starting an online group in which we share information from our campaigns to make a unified continuity/game world. Each person in the group tells us what is happening in their section of the world, gives details about the heroes and villains they are using, and so forth. We can borrow each others characters and perhaps have some cross-campaign events. (Also, I'm using Homecoming to design what my characters look like). If any of you are interested, let me know and I'll add you to the mix. There are only a few of us at the moment, but I'm hoping to get more as we go along.

    Well, let's see:

Michael Myers (Halloween) is a Natural Invulnerable / Broad Sword Tanker.

Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th) is a Magic Axe / Regeneration Brute.

Carrie White (Carrie) is a Natural (or possibly Mutant) Gravity Control / Psionic Assault Dominator.

Freddie Krueger (Nightmare on Elm Street) is a Magic Claws / Dark Stalker.

The Phantom (The Town That Dreaded Sundown) is a Natural Axe / Super Reflexes Stalker.

Leatherface (Texas Chainsaw Massacre) is a Natural Titan Weapons / Willpower Brute.

Good list, just the sort of thing I was looking for.

  3. In the late 90s I took a two-year journalism course in community college. One of the first things the instructor told us is that it was a dying field and we would have a very tough time pursuing a career in it. I was thinking "What a great time to tell us! Not like that would have been useful to know before we committed to this!"

I was part of an 80's-movie themed static group a year or two ago, and the character I made was inspired by John Carpenter's "The Fog". Named Elizabeth Dane, after the ship in the movie, she is a Sonic/Storm defender that I envisioned as a banshee that embodied the vengeful spirit of the sailors on that ship. If you have seen then movie then hopefully that makes sense.

Excellent choice. Carpenter is my favourite director, and The Fog is my third favourite horror movie.

  5. You might never guess from my name and avatar, but I'm a big fan of Halloween and horror in general. So, this being Spooktober, let's get a little evil. Come up with COH builds for your favourite horror villain (heck, or any other characters in the genre). I gleefully await to see what you all come up with.

    That's how insidious it is!

    As for this thread...

  7. So I have a character concept: guy was murdered by thugs, then mystically returned to life as an avatar of retribution. I know his primary will be willpower, and that sometime down the line he'll learn some sorcery. What I have analysis paralysis on is his secondary. I have five that I can't choose between; claws, dual blades, katana, martial arts, or street justice. Which would you take (doesn't matter the reason, whether it be thematic, tactical, or other)? Thanks for the help, I'll go Kill Skuls in your honour.

That's a wild percentage! Are you being sarcastic or do you have some sort of data or at least reference to show this as factual?

We got it straight from this guy:

    One other potential spoiler

He didn't just take her blood, he copied her phone. That is also important - Jen spends her life attached to that thing, so there could be an awful lot of stuff some Very Bad Internet People could use.

He hacks her dating app, and sets her up on dates with Stilt Man and Big Wheel!

Sorry to hear.  It should have never been declared the unofficial PvP server, as PvP is anathema to 99.5% of the player base.  Alas.

People seem to like rppvp servers, though. Perhaps it can be re-designated as that.

  11. I have my own universe of super characters that came from many years of playing/reffing Villains & Vigilantes and Heroes Unlimited, and I think I'll make Indomitable their home as soon as this new name policy comes into effect.

    Hey @Mike Morbid

What'd you end up tryin? Any fun?

I'm leaning toward bio as a secondary, still going back and forth on the primary. Whatever it is, it'll be something I can build a character concept around.

  13. I haven't played a scrapper in quite a while, and want to try something that's easy on the endurance costs. Alas, my Google skills are weak today. What would you recommend?

I have been more than 25ft away, around corners, and down hallways and none of that has made any difference. And no, I am not talking about getting the killing blow but seeing their health low, knowing what is coming, and clearing out BEFORE they are dead.

Years later, long after he has retired from fighting crime, Erratic is woken up by the phone ringing.

"Who could that be at this hour? Hello!"

Yeah, you might not remember me, but I'm a criminal rezzer you fought a long time ago.

    "Okay?"

Yeah, I was just in an accident, and I'm not going to make it, so, well...

    ZAP!!!!

    "Aw, dang it!"

Right.  So, we are capable of intricate plans involving multiple strategies

First we make a careful plan.  Second, we kidnap Tom Holland.  Third, (here it gets complicated) we indoctrinate him over a few weeks.  ( Like Patty Hearst Stockholm syndrome).  After he realizes he loves CoH and must play hours everyday we release him back into the wild as a spokesperson

"I'm Tom Holland, and I am a scrapper."

While I am not a user or a fan of Twitch, having someone with a big following play the game a few times would probably bring a number of players.

Or have Tom Holland play.  Everyone loves Tom Holland.

Last I heard, the Homecoming team didn't want people streaming the game. Has that changed? I'd be glad if it is no longer the case.

Perhaps, but he was playing the same games I was playing (it was my system, and my games), and I wasn't seeing anything suspect in the particular games I had. If it had just been the SNES games that prompted his reactions, it wouldn't have been a big deal. It was the overall pattern from him with everything. Nothing was ever just "bad luck" or "oops, I goofed" or "I'm just not good at this". It was always somebody, or some thing actively and maliciously working against him or his interests.

I'm sorry, I confess. Thanks to a machine named Ziggy, I am jumping from time to time in his life, to make sure everything goes against him.
