  1. I remember TopDoc and another in one of the comics back then! Was fun as I had teamed with him a bunch. One of the OG badgers. And he ran fun stuff - full teams of fire/dark corrs only that everyone arranged to have the same power sets and game play - we ran together at set times. Loved that! I will only disagree that submitting is fair. It becomes a goal for folks serious about it. I have a hero really close to the req. But not a villain. That would be my next project if this were a thing. In fact, this could revitalize red side! Wishful thinking! I think many of us have a main - a badge toon - for the top level stuff. A toon we strive to accomplish everything on - so using that toon seems to me, to make sense. But again, I guess my biggest question - are there way too many toons that could hit the req threshold? Objective requirements - 1250 badges Vet level 250 All Ouro complete for the prospective side T5 all inc *** 500,000,000 inf submission - if meets requirements - returned. If not - yikes! Subjective - Appropriate name, bio, and super suit *** Only 1 hero and 1 villain per global may become a H/AV... Choose wisely.
  2. Smart! One of the questions I really had - would there be too many toons that meet those requirements (listed in original post) so adding them all would be overwhelming. Looks like folks think there would be a ton! Thanks for responding!
  3. That's a great point. Is it too much like AE, something we already have access to? Maybe! I guess the only response is that H/AV asks you to create a character and then once it is at a certain point - you give it back and it can be added randomly to missions. Instead of Fight "Generic Boss" from a radio or newspaper - you get to go against a player created toon. Something different for the open world, I guess? Instead of advertising a mish or mini tf for an AE you created - you just submit your toon, and the rest is out of your hands. I don't know - there are similarities!
  4. An idea - it's long! Your favorite character becomes even more super! It’s time to let them grow on their own! Your main gets to be their own boss... What? (Once requirements are met - see below) - You submit your hero or villain to the devs. They review your qualifications and if approved, your character becomes part of the game. If a hero, they can spawn as an EB in solo instances or as a HERO in group encounters (vice versa for villain side, EB or AV). Instead of arresting Archon Alberto for the 200th time - now you battle with a RAD/FIRE brute looking to cook you into oblivion! Instead of kidnapping a scientist from Longbow while fighting the ever present Ballista - how about getting crane kicked in the face by an MA/SR scrapper you may have previously teamed with! Bringing a big team to flash through radios in PI? Not so flash my friend - now you just may get a battle with up to 3 player created adversaries (1-4 heroes in a mish will spawn 1 H/AV, 5 or 6 will spawn 2, and 7 or 8 spawn 3 H/AVs). How? Upon beginning 50+ content - players (team leaders) can select as an additional option, “H/AV enabled” the same way they can adjust team size and difficulty. New and fancy rewards? No. Rewarding the loyalty and creativity of the player base by allowing us to contribute to the lore is all that is needed. Same types of rewards for beating down an EB or HERO/AV… Oh, but maybe a badge or two! Something like beating a first, and 25th, and a 100th! Upon submission - the 1st costume on your panel is the suit they perma-wear in instances - and their exact build upon submission is locked in. Can you change your character (build, enh, suit, bio) later? Sure, there will be some sort of “undo” button (with a ton of - are you sure? pop ups) but once changed - the toon will have to be re-submitted for the same 500 million. You still can play this character though - however, you will not ever encounter them as a bit of nifty dev programming will keep your character from spawning in any mission you join. So - what do you need to become a H/AV system member? Objective requirements - 1250 badges Vet level 250 All Ouro complete for the prospective side T5 all inc *** 500,000,000 inf submission - if meets requirements - returned. If not - yikes! Subjective - Appropriate name, bio, and super suit *** Only 1 hero and 1 villain per global may become a H/AV... Choose wisely. Why? For me (selfishly), I take great care in my fave/main toons. I would love to show them off - implementing the H/AV system would do that. For the game - would be another add on for 50+ content - which I think would be fun. FAQ - by me. How hard will this be to program? No idea! Would the fights be too hard? Maybe? I'd like to find out though. Do I spend too much time thinking of random stuff? Yes. Oh yes. Would this not work because there are too many or too few that meet qualifications? Yikes - that's a good one. Personally, I have a hero that has all but the vet level - the toon has the info, the badges, the incarnate T5s, all of ours done, and a darn nifty suit and bio. Vet is at 200 maybe - so work to do. Would the devs be able to parse the candidates, or would it be too much (overwhelming)? Yes and yes. Or not. So, that brings me to the end of the idea. I think it would be fun as can be. For any that held on to the end of this - thanks, and if you respond, help me with my FAQs! And - be kind heroes!
  5. Updating an older laptop's video card drivers. Hi folks. Probably a pretty typical story here. Found out COH was back and nearly died. Grabbed all my old laptops, and my sons and I are killing skulls everywhere. One won't work though. We reset it back to original (using recovery) and updated everything that could be done online. Specs - Satellite L505-S5990 - Intel Core 2 Duo T6500 - Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit - And the graphics info is Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family (Microsoft Corporation - WDMM 1.1). When we downloaded Tequila and hit play, an error message popped up, it read... "An OpenGL driver for your video card was not found. The game will not run with your current configuration. Please update your video card drivers in order to add OpenGL support." It then says contact nvidia, ati, or intel to update. We rant the intel diagnostic and it says up to date. I chatted with an intel tech, they said they no longer support updates to this machine as it is old. Basically, can I do anything to resolve? Can something be done online, or do I need something else? Or is it a lost cause? Thanks in advance. @Rumor Has It Indomitable!
