  1. I can speak for myself obviously, and all I can say is that my problem is "fear of doing it wrong" - I dont' want to ruin other's people game experience. 

    Nevertheless I sometimes form mission teams (radio-tips mostly) because I'm a group player, I never solo...I just don't like it. But I often find myself asking probably too many questions such as "is the level ok? should I pick this mission?". Add that I'm not an English native speaker, so that's why I prefer to look in the LFG channel and pst "pick me! pick me!" 😄 

    I guess it's also the reason I never hosted a TF or SF, except for DFB (I'm a DFB master eheh).

    To be honest, this is probably the best game community I ever experienced, everyone tries to help, always. I joined only one Hami raid so far (as  a tanker) and it's been super fun and friendly. 

    I'll try to lead more, I promise!

     

    ( but I'm always grateful to squad leaders, I never enter the mission before them nor pick up a glowie without asking permission 😄 )

  4. Hi guys! I need your help and talent.

    I'd like to roll a magic earth/nature controller, something like a D&D earth mage, but everytime I try I end up with a CoT look-a-like.

    I imagine this toon as a male, with a beard (not the longest hough) and no hair or with a hood. Any input/help will be appreciated!

    But thanks.  Back on live, I wrote 3 Controller guides, but the Ill/Rad one was the most popular by far.  I was active enough on the forums that the Devs asked me to take over the Controllers "Guide to Guides" at one point, so I reviewed all guides posted and indexed them to be easily found.

    Not long after Homecoming came out, my old desktop computer died, leaving me only with my office laptop -- which can't be a game machine.  But a couple of months ago, one of my sons got my old desktop working again, so I'm up and running. However, I don't have as much time to play.  So far, my only 50 is Area Man (an Ill/Rad, of course) on Excelsior.

    Hey! played with you on sunday with the Ill/rad I'm building using your guide! (Spectrad is the name). It was very fun! thx for the help!!!

  8. Hey Infinitum, long time lurker here.

    I just wanted to thank you for these builds, I used to play a fire/fire tanker in live and always loved being a tanker.

    Now I have a Radianite copycat (except for taunt instead of afterburner) and he's amazing. Took part to an Hami raid and it's been awesome.

    Now working on a toon with your shield/elec build, loving it for now.

  9. First ever post in the forums, sorry for my bad English, not a native speaker at all.

    I am a retourning player, and after a month or so of struggle, this great community, the forums and mids helped me sorting out all the new info.

    I like the fact that IOs builds exists and I love spending some time in mids trying to slot different sets etc etc, BUT IMHO balancing the end game only around a bunch of specific overpowered IOs/sets builds would be a terrible idea. In that way people would start playing only the same builds not choosing different powersets, just like in Diablo 3 seasons. But in COH the loot system is totally different, e.g. there is only a version of the LoTG set, while in D3 you can drop tons of different Leoric's Crowns with differents stats attributes. So the end game would be...useless. Once the best build pops out there would be no challenge and no fun since one wouldn't have any way to improve it.

    I love the way COH is different, and I love the ability to mix and match powersets, pool powers and even incarnates powers creating strange heroes which should be allowed to play through the game and to try endgame content with SOs without feeling useless.

    I hope somehow this makes sense 😄
