  1. How does this play? Do you create your own characters or do you play as an established character?
  2. One TTRPG that I have been looking at and plan to get once I have the money is Galaxies in Peril. Its a spin off of Worlds in Peril made by the same publisher. Where Worlds is a PbTA game, Galaxies is a Forged in the Dark Game meaning its based off the game Blades in the Dark. One reason I am interested in its Blades in the Dark is good at faction mechanics and using a team play book to create a solid foundation for the group the players want to play. In this case you pick what kind of super team you want to play (street level detectives, Guardian of the Galaxy style explorers, vigilantes going up against the supervillians etc...). The faction mechanics are also interesting to me since it evokes the various villian groups that are a staple of City of Heroes. I've only read reviews and I'll post more about this once I have actually read the book itself.
  3. That's fair
  4. Thank you @ZemX that was very helpful.
  5. Wouldn't a defender do the same thing?
  6. So when I first played CoH, I was introduced to Corruptors as the "villian version" of blasters when CoV came out. Post Going Rouge and now in Homecoming you can play Corruptors on either side. Same as Blasters. So the question I have for yall is "Why play Corruptors? What sets them apart from the other ranged damage ATs?" I'm interested in them. I just really don't know how to play one.
  7. I had a buddy of mine who recommended prowlers and paragons to me. Mostly because they are working on a hack of it.
  8. Spirit of the Century is good too for fate if you are more interested in old school pulp and you like FATE.
  9. One that's fairly popular in some of the circles I run is a game called Masks: A New Generation. As the name suggests its a game about young superheroes growing into the role. Mechanics wise its based of the Powered by the Apocalypse engine started by the titular game Apocalypse World. For those unfamiliar with them PBtA are very narrative heavy games and are light on mechanics. That's not to say that the mechanics aren't deep, but they are created in a way to further the story rather than to create tactically interesting combat. If tactical combat is something you are looking for, don't play Masks. If you are a fan of shows like Young Justice, Teen Titans, or Young Avengers this might be something for you.
  10. Inspired by a post in general: I wanted to talk about various Superhero TTRPGS
  11. If we are talking about TTRPGs there is Masks: A New Generation, but that's centered around teen Super Heroes. There is Mutants and Masterminds, one I have been looking at is Multiverses in Peril which uses a TTRPG engine I am fond of called Forged in the Dark. Sorry I collect TTRPGs (I have over 80 physical books in my library and can go on about this.) Probably talk more about this in Off topic at some point
  12. I have more fun creating and running character in the Rouge Isles than I do in Paragon City. I feel like the role of "hero" greatly limits my options. The villain quests and maps just seem more fun to me. Also I get to monologue. Which is always fun.
  13. If I could add a helmet I would add Henry VIII's helmet:
  14. So your saying we need to seize the means of production? 🤔
  15. I looked at games like that when I was looking for a replacement for CoH when it first went down, but now that I have Homecoming why do I need a City of Heroes at home?
