  1. No it doesn't seem like they are taunted past the animation, but City of Data shows the taunt should last 14 secs. I agree, the animation could change, maybe have the column remain but get rid of the ground pulse.
  2. After using Glittering Column, I can't help but feel underwhelmed. The animation is awesome, and from what I can tell at level 16 the power is the centerpiece of the set. But while the effects of the power (-to hit and taunt) last 14 secs, the animation lasts a measly 6 secs. The first time I used it during a DFB, I don't even think I saw the animation it was so short. I'm wondering if maybe the during of the animation lasts only as long as the Blast Off chance, but it seems like a missed opportunity. If the Glittering Column is what is blinding the enemies and taunting them, then the animation should last as long as the debuffs. Suggestion: Increase the duration of the Glittering Column animation to match the effects of the power.

Although I agree that you funnily enough defeated your earlier point with complaining that people only reference Dark Souls while you yourself used the genre "soulslike", I do agree with this point. I love this game as is. I love the sandbox and the lack of a meta. But if the game were to take a page from Destiny's raids and dungeon mechanics that would be just straight fun. I haven't played Destiny 2 in two years but the thing I think that Destiny did that was revolutionary was multiplayer challenge activities. I would have a hard time seeing anyone getting upset at mid-fight mechanics and puzzles that break up the normal target-priority and DPS gameplay.
  4. From a theme perspective it is way more versatile, and that is the reason I think the name should be changed. The name doesn't fit the visuals of the powerset. It's not like you are placing mortars on the ground from which fireworks are launching, and there are no noticeable rockets being seen traveling to the enemies. So why does the set need to be named explicitly after fireworks? As far as your counter examples, this is not the same as changing Water Blast to blood or Dark Armor to moon magic or sand. Those sets allow for that by at least attempting to be seen and called the simplest thing possible. Spines are spines, it doesn't matter what material you are imagining they are made out of. And the difference between this Pyrotechnic Control and Arsenal, Dual Pistols, etc. is the lack of hardware. Imagine Dual Pistols but you are not holding pistols. What would you call it then? Definitely not Dual Pistols.
  5. Maybe a hot take but I'll see what people think. I don't think the name Pyrotechnic Control is a good fit for this powerset. It implies an origin to the powers, with that being something man-made and generally restricts 3/5 of the in-game origins. The visuals and animations don't show anything that supports the firework namesake, which is how it should be to allow for player concepts to takeover. Additionally, it is uncharacteristically specific in a game that tries to have elemental set names (ice, fire, time, etc.). As for a replacement name, I don't think this set is Light Control (or Flare, Glitter, Sparkle...), especially with the Blow Up mechanic. I'd suggest Explosion or Detonation Control, because that seems to split the design of the set with being elemental enough to satisfy the sandbox concept crowd. Then again, I'm the weirdo that rerolls at all levels to change origins and names in games that don't allow name changes (thank you Homecoming).
  6. Eastern is currently -4 and won't be -5 until Daylight Savings ends on 3 Nov. Assuming your Eastern time is based on a server Zulu time, it would actually be 10:30pm Eastern. And is that 02:30Z on 1 Nov or 10:30pm Eastern on 1 Nov? Also, can we get official input on how to "claim" a released name? Can it be done through the name change on the character select menu or do we need to create a new hero to claim the name first? Thanks!
