I can't find anywhere that says what it actually does as far as game mechanics go.

The other night I did the Lusca giant monster run three times on 3 different characters (level 19, 32, and 47) One was a team of 8 while the other two were Leagues. All three characters had multiple deaths, with the level 32 dying 7 times. There were lot's of other toon deaths as well. My question is did Lusca get an upgrade or were the teams that I was on just extremely unlucky...
