    So far I've rolled:

    DM/SR - although it seems DM isn't the powerhouse it used to be as other sets have caught up

    Psi/Ice - because Mass Levitate looks cool

    MA/Bio - though I might switch to Stone now.. lol

     

    And I want a Battle Axe.. / maybe Dark

    What's the FOTM then? I play mainly end-game content / speed runs. 

     

    Primaries:

    • I've seen good things about Savage, Battle Axe seems cool too with the new Whirling Axe mechanic. 
    • Energy still up there for ST? I always liked War Mace too
    • Rad/Elec/SS for AoE I assume

     

    Secondaries:

    • Rad seems to be the consensus generally? Strong in end-game, can slot a -Res etc etc. 
    • Bio strong as ever?
    • Shield/Elec/Dark/Ice have always seemed fairly strong (sure you can throw out a few more here)
    • Fire for Burn.. because Burn - they nerfed the procs a bit though right?

     

    So what should I roll 😄 (Currently building a DM/SR and Psi/Ice because... reasons)

    Nice heal.

    Tar Patch has great -Res. 

    Shadow Fall makes softcapping whatever you want possible. 

    Fearsome Stare is nice Crowd Control. 

    Howling Twilight (-regen) / Darkest Night make AV fights a lot easier. 

  4. I would go for something like this.

    • 102.5% global rech. - perma-hasten with your Alpha on (Agility). 
    • Midnight Grasp will hit like a truck. Nice attack chain with MG, Gloom, Smite/SL, SM/Dark Oblit/ToF, MG roughly. 
    • I'm a bit out of touch but Elude isn't worth it with the end crash when it stops so not worth it for me. 
    • Should be a fun toon with SL for your heal and great defences! 
    • Slotted a good few more purples but very achievable these days after a few week of speed TFs 😉

    Quick bit about me; I enjoy end-game content and speed TFs/trials mainly. Minimal interest in PVP. 

     

    1. Fold Space - what is it exactly - how do I best use it, seems to be the most effective thing these days? Seen a few people using and it and had a little read around; looks almost vital for speed TFs!

     

    2. Is Teleport the best travel power now? I always been an SS/CJ guy...

    Feel like I'm going to need some new macros 😄 

     

    3. Best new power sets / ATs / combos?

     

    Best ones when I left... Fire/Cold Corr, Cold Defenders, Fire/Fire Blasters, En/Fire Scrapper - variations on these themes 

     

    Looks like Assault Rifle might actually be alright now? And Storm/Seismic Blast look cool!

    But to do a bit of performance analysis: Mechanically, mms have the highest st dps ceiling in the game, the challenge is getting the pets to the right location in time and keeping them buffed (especially because external buffs are dropped on rezone). Therefore, in practice, I think they do well in tfs with lots of avs and incan chaining, like mltf. However, they work very poorly in tfs with lots of trash mobs and manual movement, like itf. If you do go mm, demons is nice because of 1. fire/cold damage and 2. extra -res. Finally, in the context of a competition with no reruns, it's worth mentioning that a mm has a bit of an edge at freeing patrons if they become inextricably stuck inside walls on cuda lol.

     

    Upon reflection, I personally think the best comp under these AT restrictions would be something like 2x fire/fire, fire/kin corr, fire/cold corr, sonic/fire def, and some kind of bio scrapper. (The only reason for giving sonic to the defender is based on -res numbers, since sleet is standardized. It is a small difference.) The dom probably makes hami marginally faster, but it is easy enough to dps through the green shields, and char on the fire/fires would make it even faster.

    Your best bet is to read Darkir's thread and adapt it for Water. I have a feeling he has posted a Water/Kin somewhere too.

     

     

    I actually made a Water/Kin on Mids too and enjoyed playing one back on Live (I think Geyser's animation is great). So have a look if you like. I've done a few things to my taste so Darkir's thread likely gives better overall advice/survivability. My build isn't as survivable because I mainly team and will normally be buffed. It's capped ranged/SL def. and near perma-hasten with 1x Siphon Speed.

  11. Could try this one/mess around with it and suit to your needs.

     

    Capped ranged defence, 90% rech, end should be fine with Perma AM. Soul Drain near perma too.

  13. Hey,

     

    FF will Def Cap any team you're on basically since most people slot for some +Def and that's about it. Solo-wise I'd go for /Rad or /Dark but FF will be fine too if you like it thematically. Dual Pistols there are lots of options I normally just roll with Fire Ammo and blast away with AoEs (almost always on a team). That said Executioner's Shot will hit like a truck with procs which is fun and I've always liked the nuke (am I correct in saying it's bugged?). 

     

    Anyway here's a build I threw together, melee/ranged/smashing/lethal capped and some decent S/L resist + 90% rech. I avoided event IOs just because they're very expensive but you can switch them in, max out your build better and go for a different Alpha if you wanted (I used Agility for the +def).

  14. Example build below; I agree with the above posters Freezing Rain is a top tier power so I would definitely take it 🙂

     

    Build has ranged soft-cap, 85% and good S/L resists so should be fairly survivable with Life Drain added on. (And Moonbeam should hit like a truck).
