Got it! I was trying to use the legacy import instead of the datachunk import. Thanks for modernizing the build and reposting it. You squeezed in more resistance than I expected in this...do you use Conserve Power after Retsu drops?

Just tried to open in 3.6.6 and gives data error...something I'm missing with the import?

    ##### Ignore this, sorry! I was using the old CTRL+I import method (/smh). Thank you!

Clockwork (the smaller ones at least, dunno about Cog+ sized) are actually vulnerable to knockdown effects, it's possible for them to increase to knockback and start battering the little shits around even at equal levels.

EDIT: It's the magnitude that matters. Look at the Battle Axe stats and it's all 0.67 or so magnitude for the knockdowns, because any knock magnitude 0.99 or less just causes 'knockdown' on the spot. If anything pushes the magnitude to 1+, it launches the enemy as knockback. The Clockwork vulnerability increases the magnitude of your knockdown over 1.

Awesome, thank you for the answer!

  3. I have my Dark/Axe tanker at level 40 and started noticing something strange. I was doing the Tina McEntire (sp???) arc and was going after Clockwork king. Since the map had a LOT of flying Clockwork, every time I would hit them, they would get knocked back a LOT. The ground targets were knocked down (as the power should do), but is it normal to have KD turn into KB on flying mobs? They were even con (White/Yellow), so it wasn't because they were lower level. I have some IO's slotted but nothing that does any type of KB...more damage procs.

  4. After following this thread for some time, I'm working on a Bio/Stone/Soul build. I can't help but feel I'm coming up short in the defensive department and would appreciate suggestions.

EMPulse is on a massive recharge of 800 seconds on a blaster and debuffs your recovery in exchange for a mag 3 stun (granted one with a huge area) which makes it very situational and IMHO a waste of a pick. You also need 2 other picks in the set to get there which severely limits your options.  Going down that road also makes it very difficult to cap out your melee defense which will also hinder your ability to hang out in melee range.  Scorpion shield however is 1 pick and gives a significant boost to S/L and Energy defense which increases your ability to survive in melee range far more than EMPulse ever will.  With Scorpion shield you can end up with numbers that rival Energy Aura brutes and scrappers (not counting Mez protection, DDR and  HP pools).  Before the snipe changes, my AoE build looked something like this.  It is a little short on recharge but that can be dealt with by being in melee range as often as possible since 3 mobs in range will give you perma hasten or by taking Agility instead for better recovery, defense to help with debuffs and enough recharge to get perma hasten with only 1 in melee range.

Thank you for posting the build. I was curious, what your attack chain looked like? Having options are good, but between the blasts, pbaoe, and melee attacks, I'd love to know what you find yourself using when teamed.

Hey. I'm a fresh rad/fire brute trying to farm my way up. I'm at farming +0 level and there's not a single farm set to a flat max 49 for +0 farming. Is it possible to export the enemy list you have for this farm so I could toss it into a basic lvl 49 farm, or do you have one/know of one you could link me to use? Thanks.

I was in a similar boat when I got my Rad/Fire Brute to 50. He was my first 50 since coming back and I had basically no influence of note to dump into sets.

I started by filling my tray with greens and purples and inched my way up from +0/x0 to increasing the mob multiplier until I was able to clear it but I had to stay on my toes. Then as the drops and influence started coming in, I started upgrading what I was using. At the same time, I started running the beginning incarnate TF's and using the threads to push things to where I would get a level shift as a priority.

It took a few weeks (I play a decent amount but work + family life comes first) before I was at max settings and doing ok with purples and greens. Then with some more level shifts in incarnate, i changed it to just get red inspirations to drop. Now I can clear Comic Con map in about 3 minutes give or take and a run of 5 of those nets me about 24 million (not counting recipe drops).

I'll mix in one of the outdoor fire maps or council maps with fire damage from time to time. The outdoor fire map (similar to BM map in ways...don't remember the name now, have the ID at home) takes me close to an hour and I get around 50+million. The Council outdoor map (rectangular map with buildings down the middle) gets me about 24 million in 24 minutes.

I'm by no means an uber farmer and I'm sure others are doing it much better, but I was able to do it taking the steps above. I hope they are helpful to you.

I'd be happy to share my initial post 50 build (less expensive) and the one I am rocking now.

  7. Ok, here is the build with the pet def/res IO's.

Since I'm going to be grouping and doing incarnate stuff with this toon, maybe the defense is a little less important as hopefully I'm at the edge of things while my team is in the heart keeping the danger focused on them....hmmmmm.

  8. Back on live, my Bots/Dark MM was my favorite to play and I've been leveling one up again (just hit 33). I'm not great at doing builds but would appreciate if folks could offer advice on this one I've put together.

Part of my really wanted to go with the Fire epic for bonfire and fireball mixed with Tar Patch but I was trying to get my defense up a bit.

    As always, suggestions/ideas greatly appreciated!

  9. Good morning forum!

I typically group on all of my characters and as a result I miss a lot of the story content. I have a level 16 Ice/Bio stalker that I want to solo up and follow story arcs on.

On most of my characters, I get by on whatever drops for enhancements in DFB/DiB until i get to level 22 and then I put level 25 IO's in. This is good enough to get me to 50 when I can slot my final enhancements in there.

Are there certain enhancements that you would recommend I slot earlier on this solo character? I'm thinking Perf Shifter proc and some of the health procs maybe (attuned so they work at all levels). What level can I put the Stalker ATO's in and should I do it while leveling or once at 50?

I understand that on regular settings, a Stalker should be able to solo most content, but I do like to optimize my efforts if possible.

Appreciate your general comments, direction, feedback, etc. 🙂

  10. I have a concept for a Bots/Thermal, but it got me wondering what mechanically went better together: Bots/Thermal or Bots/Cold? (Definitely understands play what's fun, but I love me some good synergy as well!)

I'm thinking the /COLD shields would stack with the Bots shields to get their defenses up there but /Thermal would give a layer of resistance under the defenses.

In particular, I will be running in groups as I level and doing Incarnate content/Raids as my end goal. Won't be trying to take out AV's/GM's solo or any of that stuff.

Everybody and their mother seems to get their defenses capped through enhancements in the end game so the cold shields probably wouldn't be much help there (to groups outside of my bots). Having never played either (my Live MM was a BOTS/Dark which ruled), I'm not sure which would go best with Bots AND help in team settings more.

    As always, appreciate your help!

That's /icy that has damage added to its slow aura.

I'm running ice/earth/mu and enjoying it - this is a dom that LIVES in melee.  Why ever leave when everyone is so busy falling all over themselves for you...

Would love to see your build! :)

I'd say it was comparable to the 4 rad defs, but giving more end drain would make it MORE powerful than that,  Can the four defenders completely shutdown an AV and then kill it, I've never tried it?  Re; x-blasters nuking every spawn, can they shut down the AV?

But my point is, they're very effective, when combined. As effective as rad defenders in shutting down opponents. That's not underpowered.

I can see your point but that is more of a planning and consideration issue I think rather than a reason to not modify the set (imho). Maybe replace end drain with a small chance to shock the target (where enough chained would give you chance to stun minions/LT's), or make them more susceptible to other forms of energy or control (chance to build synergy with other players here - my Elec blast character and your fire or mind control character could combine to do great things).

Not an easy fix, but it seems a shame to just leave it at "meh". /2cents

  13. Hello Homecoming folks! Apologies if this isn't the right place, but that being said....Electric blasts and End Drain.

Has there been any talk about making END drain a more viable game mechanic? I'm looking at you Blaster, Defender, and Corrupter's in particular with your ever so cool looking zappy zappy blasts and your ever so lackluster drain mechanic. To make matters worse, I commonly see posts talking about different power sets and pointing out that the damage isn't top notch AND the mechanic is really a no show. Very sad!

I know you can combine different attacks or power sets with it to drain mobs down but as I often read, it only takes a tick of endurance and the mob is now firing off their attacks again.

I know the devs are working on a lot, but it seems a shame to have such a cool looking/sounding power set with such a meh mechanic behind it.

Maybe wishful thinking, but some type Electric blast buff/mechanic update would be awesome!!!

Option D) None of the above...

Seriously, all I ask is to give us a little more time and wait until we can give some more details before deciding that it's all doom and gloom. I promise that if I didn't think this was going to be a good thing, I wouldn't be involved in it like I am. I'm not oblivious to the fact that at this point, my own reputation is inextricably tied to the outcome of what we're working on, and I'm not eager to come out of this with everyone thinking, "Man, Tony's an idiot." (Although I also recognize that a 5%-10% "hate rate" ain't so bad, so an occasional "Tony's an idiot" post doesn't get to me...)

Anyway, my point is that what we're working on isn't a "best deal we can get" situation. It is, in my opinion, a genuinely good deal. I'm trying my best to not get everyone overly worked up because nothing is inked yet and until it is I'll have a healthy dose of low-level paranoia. But I also think that as things are going, when we can talk more, a lot of skeptical people will come away pleasantly surprised.

Coming from a business perspective, it was the right move to engage NC Soft. It couldn't be ducked forever hoping things would just be left as they are. And the idea that it would cost too much money for NC Soft to play whack a mole with servers doesn't hold water. As someone who works with our Corporate legal team all the time, starting the legal action is not resource intensive. Going for injunctions is not resource intensive. Actually going through extensive litigation can be resource intensive.

It's always better to tackle these things on your own terms and try and frame the conversation. I'm guessing, but it seems that is what they have done (TonyV and folks, not NCSoft).

Communication is the other issue. If you look at government communication, business communication, sports team communication to fans, etc. , there is always the chance that people will not like what is being communicated, but a vacuum is a breeding ground for even worse things. Ultimately I think folks need to respect that they are giving us a high level of what is underway and as folks not part of the immediate team engaging in this activity, we don't get to hear all the details for now.

Besides, they brought us our game back...that is an amazing starter cache of good will as far as I'm concerned. I understand the fear of losing the game - this game is what my best friend and I spent years playing leading up to his passing just after the game closed. Every time I log in, it brings me memories of playing the game with him and my kids when they were younger. But I think staying positive is the better option for now and see what happens.

Just my 2 cents, I'm sure others (rightfully) will disagree and that's cool 🙂

  15. Hello!

Brand new level 50 and unfortunately I have forgotten a LOT about slotting and sets from the wonderful days of old.

Since this is my first 50, don't have a lot of INF to throw at sets right now, so just looking for help with a solid build I can IO out and grow from there.

Power choices are all very flexible but I'm trying for 3 things:

    1. Stay hovering at range

    2. Try not to get mezzed, held, slept if at all possible

    3. Do lots of damage!

I left Fire Breath out as the range is 40 and i'm trying to stay farther out but happy to put it back in if it serves a purpose here. Recall Friend is in there as something to help team members since this character will group exclusively with others 95% of the time.

    Thank you in advance!

  16. Playing on a TV at 4K. Played with video settings to get it to stop crashing but the last issue I have is that the tool tip text is super tiny, even with UI scaled up over 200%. Found slider for chat font increase, but can't seem to find a setting for tool tip size.

Is there a reg entry or something I can modify to increase this?

    Thank you in advance!
