  1. Having the same issue. I have Norton installed as it's Comcast's default AV. I dropped the firewall to install it, whitelisted it and still doesn't move forward from accept. Here's the log:

I'll say you have a mass number of issues regarding Norton as Norton HATES your launcher so much, it auto deletes it once it's installed. Suggestions?

Entangling aura is something i always hesitate to take but with pet melee sets i play in melee and its great for stopping mobs from running away. If your planning on hanging back then you could replace it with an immob like web envelope.

First, Thanks for posting a build!

Yeah I feel that. I've played an Empathy defender to 50 and if you have ever had the "pleasure", you find that you have to be ready to fire off a heal the second it's needed. Nature feels like it has a lesser demand than that, but being pets aren't super tanky, I'd rather keep my hands free to be ready. I agree that Mace would be slightly better but it doesn't feel right on a magic themed MM. I can't agree on your mule soul extraction pet being six slotted. Feels wasted especially with your purple ATOs in there. I struggle justifying putting a VR set into a non used dominator power for the +rech. Looking at the build though, that HAS to be end heavy. You aren't maxing your stamina by getting a 1.5 endmod IO. The run speed isn't worth a reduction to end recovery especially with leadership. Your pet boosters are gonna eat a chuck of your end as soon as you try to recover a pet in combat and then there is a good chance they would get killed again. Plus are your pets missing a lot? None seem to be really slotted high for it especially with Lich having 23% accuracy buffed. Do you play this build? Because I am honestly curious how well it stands up.

Quick note: Knights already do frequent knock up. Keep the Overwhelming in the zombies, even if you lose a full set bonus. Nothing in the bonus is worth the mitigation of the knockdown proc x 3 zombies! More later when I'm off shift.

Know what I switched it, switched it back, switched again.... it was like picking a flower to see if you were loved or not. Now reviewing at it, I can see why that was a bad move. But hey, that why I post builds. I switched it back and put the ATO proc on Grave Knights, What else ya got?

I like your build. Totally different than I would have built it, but with those solid S/L defense numbers and a decent END recovery over consumption, seems like you're right where you need to be. Pets are slotted okay, but zombies need more accuracy. For Wild Growth, don't worry too much about the regen, you already have LOTS of healing Focus on Resists and use a couple of slots elsewhere. Maybe in Soul Extraction so you can then free up slots for Zombies. Lich would benefit from a Clouded Senses damage proc and more -ToHit. Maybe only 4 of the SCotM and then the proc and a 50+3 ToHitDebuff crafted.? If you don't mind losing a couple points of recharge, a 5-slot Clouded Senses would do better. Lich isn't for damage, he's for control/Debuffs. Anyway, as long as you are having fun and doing well, its all quibbles, there are a thousand ways to build a great character, just my ruminations 🙂

Ok here is the altered build and some notes:

    • Moved the MM set out of Lich to zombies. Brought in clouded senses and the Build up on Soulbound
    • Moved Overwhelming force chance to knock down to Grave knights to fill the sot left by soulbound allegiance. Gave them 4 of the other MM ATO set
    • Put the other two of the IO set into Soul extraction and added a slots taken from below for the other pet IO set procs
    •  Took a slot from Weave as the 5th LotG gave on end redux (It was over set cap)
    • Took a slot from Overgrowth and went just rech redux as my Defense is at soft anyway pre stealth
    •  Changed the 4 Unbreakable Guards to Titanium Coating for the extra + s/l resists

  5. So I've been off/on with this toon for awhile now. While I haven't hit 50 (36 atm) I like to have an end game in mind. So with that looking for any opinions on anything I might change. The goal is to not be a tank/aggro myself but to debuff, drop LG Spores, send in pets, and keep em upright. By not being an attacker myself and having high defenses, I can sit out the battle with enemies paying no attention on the guy planting mushrooms. Opinions welcomed.

Putting it in an aoe power isn't bad.  It does give it multiple chances to hit but it can only trigger once per use.  I like to put it in something in my attack chain if possible because it can stack up to 3x.  Doesn't always work on every build but some dom secondaries have a solid attack that the ATO dmg proc can be slotted in.  The buff lasts pretty long (30 seconds I think)  so if you have it in the right attack it's pretty easy to keep up multiple stacks during long fights like AVs.  I'm not sure about fiery orb, I dropped it from my build because it didn't seem that useful.  And the set bonuses on the ATO set with fiery orb aren't as good as the other ATO set.

Ok this is my now current build after tweeks. Looking for any other opinions:

Sleet on doms is the best.  You won't regret it.  max out the recharge in it and that's all it needs.  You can also slot the +dmg ATO in midnight grasp if you aren't married to the set bonuses from the rest of the set.  Just an option to consider

Actually was thinking it should be in an AoE type power. Doesn't that give it multiple chances to hit?

Also what is the deal with Firey Orb? I have that in an AoE as well but it forms by me. Shouldn't it form by the target?

Hoarfrost recharge for dom is just so long.

okay then skipping Ice storm for sleet. Keeping Spiritual though I think. Better rech buff plus I have three heal powers technically to two end mods. With Domination on top of that, I think I benefit more from a healing buff than the end mod.

    Sure,

but you can use Agility instead of Spiritual. I dont think you actually need either, as even just-outside perma hasten will still work just fine and keep you with Perma Dom.

Also, don't skip Sleet. Skip Ice Storm. Or Hoarfrost.

I was really debating the "Skipping sleet" part.  I was actually leaning toward skipping Midnight Grasp but that's 5% recharge. Unless Ice Storm is that bad on Dominator? Hoarfrost.... Dunno. I like the occasional "Oh Sh#t" button when you are aggroing complete mobs AND your armor is of medium fare. Sometimes you just run outta purps ya know?

  10. So I thought I'd give it the college try. Got it to one purp set, 2 ATO sets, and 97.5% pre hasten. Does this work?

  11. As a very long time SR player, I can see why people would like to see a non clicky version of PB. I think I prefer the clicky version personally. However since you can have the clicky OR the master, I can deal with that. What I could not deal with is losing the auto AoE Defense. That's just a no go for me. It's bad enough that we get weak numbers for those autos already, a +Resist that we cannot enhance nor stack, and Defense Debuff Resistance which should be a built in already!

Personally I would love to see those autos increase in defense power (current 5.63% to a 7% which is the Sent's #) and the resistances changed out for absorb. Which makes so much more logical in a sense as many IO sets already provide resistances and much of the resist armor is lost very quickly. For example using tough and sets, I am at 55% resist BEFORE taking a single point of damage. Yet these resists don't kick in until half life. So at half life I get 20% resist with three powers giving me 20% each that I lose 40% of. Not the greatest plan.

So Yeah, losing AoE defense for Enduring which give Psi defense is a huge pass. Even with the recovery. If you want to keep it as AoE defense or, even better, combine 2 of the AoE (Like one gives Melee and Ranged def at 7% or it gives gives Ranged and AoE Def at 7%) Then feel free and cram Enduring in.

Hasten gives you 70% recharge for a time until it wears off and you use it again.  The IO's you put into specific powers typically only work for that particular power.  So I'll put two 50+5 IOs into Hasten and that'll be good for that.

After that I'll still want to aim for an additional 90% recharge from bonuses and LotG's.  Typically that's 4 purple sets in your controls and attacks then I like to slot a full set of Ascendancy of the Dominator, that'll get you 50% recharge from bonuses right there.

Then take your snipe power and slot Sting of the Manticore at least to 5 slots for 7.5% recharge and I'll typically have like 3 defense power to put in 3 LotG's so this'll get you 30% more recharge added.  Then I'd add in something another rare control set for 6.25% recharge and a set like Obliteration for another 5%.

Dominators are an expensive breed but that'll get you to 91.25% recharge and add in hasten that'll get you to 161.25%.

Noticing the "Rich breed" indeed as it is probably the most expensive breed right now then. 4 purple sets in a character might be too much for me to want to bother to tackle. I expected it to be a bit more simpler and, to be honest, realistic in spending. I think I might be shelving the idea of getting to perma dom. While the non purp recipes are easy to work towards, buying all those purps might be more effort I am willing to spend on it. Especially as it is not my main or even in my top ten of toons I have.

Here are some numbers for what is needed to "perma" things.  Hasten and dom happen to be given perfectly as examples:

    https://archive.paragonwiki.com/wiki/Perma

You need about 110% global recharge in addition to slotting hasten for +95% for perma hasten.  That is the ideal as with 110% + 95% slotted hasten then it is perma and you are actually then at 180% total (110 global +70 hasten).  More than enough for perma dom.

You can get away with a bit less global, but then you have gaps in hasten.  As long as the gap isn't big enough to fall below 123% recharge "average over time" you are still okay.  That is probably where you are getting the needing only 95% global recharge from, although I've heard people it is more like in the 85% or so range.   Haven't run the exact number myself as I just try to get to 110% global  or as close as possible to it.   Edit: Going to the perma dom guide link from the wiki page they actually say you only need +70% global if you have +95% slotted hasten.  People probably go for 80%+ to have a bit of a buffer.

Don't forget you can cheat a little by using a SG base buff that can give you +20% recharge for 1.5 hours at a time for 3 cheap pieces of salvage (I don't believe you even have to belong to a SG to use their base buff machine).  There is also the P2W vendor buff for up to 8 hours of +15% recharge (but much more expensive).  But if you got the inf, that is a pretty easy "free" +35% recharge.  If you can keep those up you actually only need +75% global recharge to have both perma hasten and perma dom.  Or if you can get to about +90%, then with the extra buffs you are at 125% global and then you don't have to even worry about forgetting to click hasten....you are perma dom even without it.

    Okay so according to this:

Permahasten - Hasten needs a total of +275% Recharge

    • 205% after Hasten's own +70%, 110% after 3 recharge SOs for ~95%

PermaDom - Domination needs a total of +123% Recharge

    • Unable to slot enhancements so it must all be buffs or set bonuses

If you can get to Permahasten's 110%, then there is only 13% more that Permadom needs. Kinda takes the wind out of Permahasten then for Dom's then doesn't it?

    • Thanks 1
  14. Ok, so scanning the forums, I baseline it down to:

122% Global recharge is needed for Permadom

Hasten can be part of that 122% if you make it perma. To do so you need 95% recharge on Hasten (Meaning Hasten will cover the last 27% + some)

Hasten can get to 95% with two 50 IO recharges with +5 Boosters. I assume Incarnate boosts will help Hasten but NOT Dominate.

This part is where I am confused

So with the 50+5 IOs in Hasten, that makes it perma. That 70% and say 5 LotG's 37.5% means it is bare minimum 14.5% global for permadom. (70% +37.5% +14.5% = 122%) Obviously you want more to overlap but in theory this is the bottom line.

Is this math correct? If not, where is my misunderstanding? Thank you

  15. So I'm starting a new toon (Damn you Altitis) and debating on how I want to go. I started leaning toward Scrapper because Scrappers are awesome but then thought "I don't have many Tanks and I do like Variety" plus I can see the concept as a tank.

So need some opinions on which side to go. If it were you, which would you choose and why? Besides "Always playing / Never Playing" a certain archtype, what would be the your deciding factor?

  16. .... was what a player told me.

From what they said, Savage Melee's "Bleeds" don't increase with Fury which makes the set under perform compared Savage Melee for other ATs OR savage melee compared to other Brute Primaries. Looking for the facts vs the fiction so if someone could either explain or correct the statement, I'd appreciate it.

TOs yes, DOs no. You slot DOs in where TOs used to go, and SOs in where DOs used to go, then you have IOs to go up to later. Removing both would be a mistake. You can still slot up with dropped DOs (or use them for a far better money source than TOs ever were, and it'll help mitigate the other inf changes). While working slowly toward your SOs.

    I know it's a late response buuuut....

There really is no reason that DO's have to exist as you can get SO's at that low level. The only real difference is price and functionality. I don't use DOs ever ever ever. If I wanna go cheap, I make an IO or I buy SO's from the auction house. When the game did not give access to IO's, DO's had their use. Now they just take up space in the memory.
