  1. I can't help you with the zone as a whole, but Back Alley Brawler is still a trainer, in Atlas Park over in the southwest corner, in the traffic circle just north of the southernmost warehouse in the Argosy Industrial area. Thanks. I DID see him hanging out on a street corner on my way to a mission :) I didn't realize he was still a trainer as I did not take the opportunity to chat with him :)
  2. Great to see you again, Arc! Any chance to set up a meet and join sometime? It may tricky because the last few times I've been on, there are multiple Atals Park instances, sometimes up to 4! Born Again Heroes: St. Valentine Cyclown Diamond Spike Pantherwitch Boiling Bubble
  3. Good to see iBot and Lady Liz again, too :) "We're getting the band back together..."
  4. Most definitely YES! Like you, Galaxy City was my stop off after the tutorial. Each and every character made that trip. Your reasons also applied to me: less populated; easier navigation; et al. I was sorely disappointed when after the tutorial I was offered ONLY Atlas Park. It took me 3 more heroes to realize that one of the tutorial choices was Galaxy City and then I remembered! But I miss chatting with Back Alley Brawler and Galaxy City :)
  5. Thanks much, Doc! I rolled on Everlasting. I'll make some heroes on Excelsior now :) And hello to Cry, too!
  6. What's up, it's been a while. I see a few of my Legion brothers are making there way back and a few people I remember from the server and some teams I was fortunate to be on AL! DOC! I REMEMBER YOU GUYZ! Faith Jaimeson here, Liberty, The LEGION. Looking forward to seeing folks in game! Holy Guacamole! Great to see your name again, Faith! I recall some fun groups with you :)
  7. I remember bellyaching on the boards when they introduced capes behind a level lock. I always figured either a hero has a cape, or doesn't. Character creation is where capes belong. I know CoH tried to use the lore of Hero 1 dying to justify their decision, but I never bought into that. Auras are another ball of wax for me. They could easily be a manifestation of powers as they grow. I had no problem with auras being "earned" at later levels. Just my opinion :)
  8. I find myself nodding in agreement here. It's one thing to "roleplay" and another to "add to a viable group." My Empath LOVES his Radiation secondary :)
  9. There is a YouTube channel for a bunch of the old videos from way back when. CoHPlayerVideos (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXE5-mbnm7yu6hC62TE4cRg). PS: Including the entries from the 2 video contests.
  10. "Suck it up" is neither arguing, nor forcing someone to do something. It's an assertion of right-of-way. And no, it's not 'forcing' them to do anything, either. Being Helped is not an action, much less one that can be forced. Interesting... SO there IS a way one can STOP another player from helping? If I'm mistaken, let me know. Otherwise it sounds to me like I am being FORCED to allow you to play your way (helping). Am I wrong here? I guess I could just log off and not play at all, eh?
  11. Telling someone to "suck it up" is not the same as telling them what actions they are allowed to take in the game. In this case, its telling them they won't get any sympathy coming here and complaining, especially with such hyperbole as they were using, about something that is irrelevant. I wasn't aware there was a "smack player for helping" action you could take in the game which we're forcing this person not to use, or a "refuse help" button. If there isn't such an ability then its not telling them how to play because, to restate, they are not being told to do anything differently from what they are doing now. There is no action they can take to accept help, there is no action they can take to keep others away from their enemies in open world, there is no action they can take to retaliate for being "helped". The only thing they can do is address the person they feel wronged them and no one has told them not to do so. It's exactly the same thing! You are telling players to let you play your way, not the way desire to while complaining and belittling others whop want to play differently from you. Do you not see the irony here? Let me be clear, I don't rightly care one way or another. The "Pro KS" side seems to think that since it's NOT a problem to them, it doesn't matter to anyone. Then they're telling other to accept their own way of playing. That seems rather disingenuous to me. Doesn't it to you?
  12. First off, Thanks to your team for getting CoX up and running again! You have gotten BACK into MMORPGs! The other day, I actually played a single game for over 6 six hours straight. I have not done that in decades. I log into Wizard101 on occasion and P1999 when I get an old EQ longing. Neither of those games keep me logged in for long, or looking forward to logging in again. I actually heard the "glowie" sound as I laid down to sleep :) So much I had forgotten about the game. I'm grateful for the tutorial to help refresh my faulty memory. It took about 4 characters running through before I realized that at the end of CoX's run, Galaxy City was destroyed. I always chose Galaxy City as my home base so I was disappointed it was not an option... until I remembered :) I made my characters on the Everlasting server (fitting, I thought). It has been taking quite some time to go from logging in to seeing my character select screen, between 45 seconds to 1 minute. I wondered if that was a server communication issue, but today when I logged in, the time seemed better, more as I recalled. A couple of Questions: 1) "Patrol XP." What is that again? This question comes from the "experienced power" that we get right off of the bat. I've clicked a couple of times and saw a kind of sort of level up graphic, but no increase in level. In your "info" description, it talks of only using once per level and having only 5 uses, but I'm still foggy on what exactly this does. In have noticed that my XP bar has a blue area that exceeds what my pink bar shows. I think I mistakenly saw that as debt. Is that how the "Patrol XP" shows? 2) "1000 Characters." Is that per server or total overall? I doubt I'll ever get near that number, but was curious :) 3) "Notoriety." Is that a global setting or per character? I was happy to be told where this was as I was having loads of trouble with whatever the default setting was, visiting the hospital sometimes 2 or 3 times per group of baddies. Once found, though, the criminals became more possible to arrest. But I noticed that ALL my characters qwere set to this new "notoriety", so thought I'd ask :) Again, thanks for all you team's hard work! It is appreciated :)
  13. The only people in this thread trying to dictate to others how they play is you. I would ask you to do two things, though. First, look up the definition of cheating as it clearly does not mean what you think it does. Second, don't bother GMs with something that is completely irrelevant in the game given the way the game handles things unless someone is griefing you with actual kill stealing, which means they're nuking mobs you're clearly going for before you can even engage. Doesn't it take 2 to argue? Aren't both sides tryong to enforce their own gameplay on others? Actually, no, it can take many more or less than 2 to argue. Also, no, to the second part. One side is requiring everyone to actively play in a manner that suits them. The other is not requiring any actions of them. If this thread we're the Council of Game Rules then we would have passed a resolution saying kill stealing is allowed. That would not require the people complaining about to one thing differently in how they play. They might choose to only play instances in response, but that would be a choice. If, on the other hand, everyone in the thread agreed and no kill stealing became a rule, those who take actions these people consider kill stealing would be required to play in a different manner than they currently do, whatever their reasons for attacking spawns another player has engaged. It isn't saying "suck it up"? It isn't forcing others to "accept" their help? Interesting...
  14. I've not been running into large groups of oranges in low-level missions. Some oranges, but not all of them. You might want to check you difficulty settings, though if you haven't visited the hero corps rep who adjusts them they should be set to same level. Also, you've wracked up no debt. You can't get debt until level 10. You don't have to go to Hero Corp reps anymore. There's now a "Set Notoriety" menu option if you click the little bubble at the bottom right of the chat window. Thanks for that tip!
