I think this is the case; I always volunteer to be one of the people sat at a distance, and I've seen myself take damage from somewhere when I'm miles from where the blue marker actually spawned. I've also seen it appear in the middle of the main fight when there should have been a second player on the balcony at the back, but he may have gone too close and not been the second furthest away.  One easy fix would be to have the player he's aiming at be visibly marked before and during it's appearence, so they have time to clear off.

Ok, I FINALLY got the MaSteer of Aeon badge after picking up a great team; and I was on the balcowny duty again and was watching very cowfully; I think one cause of cowfusion on damage is that you also take damage when King teleports you to the next room, but fortunately that doesn't fail the badge itself. Only damage from the blue beams of udder frustration.  It paints a blue beam down onto the floor and leaves a star marker below you, but the damage is when it disappears not when it appears, just hoof it off somewhere else, and have the rest of the team in melee range and it hopefully will work for you.

  2. This is still proving agonizing to do, even with organised badgers on Everlasting; we've tried teleporting everyone as soon as the warning (is that new?) so no one can be in the splash zone, but we failed when someone didn't accept the teleport and got clobbered.  I'm going to try and do it solo for a while to reduce frustration; is it possible to log out and restart the mission, or is it a One And Done situation where the first blue that gets you ends it for the entire run?

I've run this mission a few times and there are no words for how much I hate this badge now. They're not common spawns, as far as I know there's no way to identify them until they start transforming, and my badger's a blaster – holding back so I don't defeat them too fast is antithetical. I get 3-4 per run, and there's usually one that's defeated by dots mid-transformation that doesn't give credit.

Farming Romulus sounds more fun tbh.

I have that badge now; Bov is a cold milk blaster too, and the only help I cown suggest is locking them all down and slowly cheesing them until they're around 10% health, which is when they seem most likely to transform. It cown be any of them except those already wolves, and the Mechmen.  Just one you have to grind out sadly, as teams running Dr Aeon don't hang around to stampede the Cowlumn... and it's tricky to get there solo and do it yourself as a blaster.

The one I'm now stuck on is the "No one steps in the blue" badge, as I've yet to get a team that cown manage it. And I don't know if I cown face 95 more Romulus whilst I wheyt for the new cowntent, but at least that's guaranteed if you put the effort in I suppose...

I have seen a lot of people saying the final badge is still bugged, even after the patch to the SF.  By bugged, I mean that the blue beams do not behave like they are supposed to and also can still inflict damage after they have disappeared from the screen.  That aspect reminds me of Tyrant's lightning in the Magisterium - you can take damage when there's no lightning visible at your position.

There's currently no other way to get Legato, right?  I've looked for "Incarnate level Cimeroran Traitors" to no avail.

I've asked around in Help but I've not herd anyone cownfirm another. Rumours as per the OP that they may spawn in Cimerora overworld, but I've not seen any myself.  There appears to be 4 people on Excelsior who have got the badge, but I don't know the whey they did it.

  6. Ok, just to cownfirm; you can just kill Augustus at the end of Sister Solaris' arc, and get 1 kill credit for Legato, then exit to cowracter select and reset the instance; sadly you have to clear the entire map before he'll appear however so it's not an efficent farming experience.  It is good for Minotaur/Cyclopes however, you'll get 25ish per 0/8 run (more if you kill Augustus' body guards, but 1 needs to still be alive if you're a mad cow and farm Augustus)

You don't really need to fight any AVs in Aeon for the Lycanthrope badge, IIRC.  Just get to Golden Roller, pummel him for a bit, go to 5th Column Dimension, damage the Dark Vampyri until they transform, kill the wolves, reset when done and do it again until badge obtained.  Should get it in 3-4 runs.  Then it's up to you if you want to continue the TF or just quit there.

Oh, and you definitely want to set it to lowest level (Villainous, I think) for badging, unless you enjoy the challenges.

True if after that specific badge, but the actual Aeon TF badges require it to be Malicious or above. Finding a team prepared to sit and farm the Lycans now might be tough too, as interest in the TF seems to have already dropped off, and the one team I did manage to get didn't want to hang about.

I've been running the first mission of Ourobovos Introduction for them but even on 0/8 I dont get many transformations at all. I think I'm at 9 of 50 so far, waiting until they change proves hard to do...

  8. Crey Cryogenicists (Cool Customer)

    Crey Gamma Tanks (Totally Radical)

As for Cowl Customer etc. I've been running the first mission of "Armor Wars (Black Scorpion Chapter 1.)"  (Villain, L50 flashback); you get about 10-15 of the Gamma Tanks per 0/+8 run, and a single Cryogenicist, and it's pretty quick to restart as it seems to spawn immediately outside the hospital/contact point every time.

These are my best guesses for where to hunt the new badges. Suggestions for improvements are welcome (especially for redside stuff).

    • Cyclopes (Fabled) / Minotaurs (Mythical)
      • Imperious TF
      • Sybil Psyche's arc
      • Some loose in Cimerora
    • Incarnate Cimerorans (Legatus)
      • Sybil Psyche's arc (Minotaurs / Cyclopes / Romulus only; some reports that only Romulus counts)
      • May be some loose in Cimerora
      • More coming early next year

Concering this, do you mean the Sister Solaris Arc in Cimerora? I can't find any reference to "Sybil Psyche" online.

The thought of 7-8 ITFs curdles my milk, but so far at least the Cyclops & Minotaur in the above are cownting... But surely we're not supposed to run it 100 times to get the Legatus (100 Incownate Cimmerians) badge?!

  10. Badges? New badges! Right, I'm back to bash my beef up then!   I see people are talking about how to do the ski courses; I did videos for all of them back on live, just before it sadly shut down. I gather the times are nowhere near the fastest these days, but enough to get the Gold at least.

As described there; "I'm using a special build for these races; Super Speed, Super Jump, Acrobatics (for mid air movement) and Sprint all 6 slotted for speed, but not jumping as you want to stay in contact with the snow as much as possible."

Bunny Course/Expert Slope I go through it slowly to show where all the gates are... the hardest jump is the one with the small drop; you want to be turning as soon as you pass the prior gate. I've seen people do little hops there but I find staying down easier.

On the Ski slope, you want to turn ahead of time for the corners, and use inertia to curve you through them, so you dont lose speed scraping the sides. Aim over the inner wall basically, note my cowracter is looking ahead of the corner. Always go left on the ski slope, it's the fastest route. When you get to the first hops (10s in) don't jump and stay on the right so you don't nudge the roof as you go under. For the second hops (28s) do a little hop as you'll clip the floor and lose a little time if you don't.

It took me ages to get the right hand course down, but you can make it by holding left until you pass the track (you see it flash by around 23s), then holding right and it'll line you up with the next part.

FBZ (just about anywhere) for Natterlings (and Overseers, if you didn't have that one yet), Cascade Archipelago (Crimson Falls) for Brutes.

Also Crey's Folly (far NW, can't remember offhand if that's Carnival Town or The Circus) for Freak Super Stunners. Remember to whack them in melee so they get back up and they count twice.

Udderly fantastic tips; it is indeed the Cownival Town, N-E of Crey's Folly, outside the Rikti War Zone entrance.  Good old frozen milk sword tickles did indeed bring them back to their feet, and saved time.

Cowscade Archipelago has both Brutes and Natterlings, so I just hoofed it around there for those two...

  12. After a long vacc-ation from CoW, I herd there were new badges, so now I return to rustle them up!  But does anyone have any tips for how best to cheese them?

    So far, these are the suggestions I've had in game;

    * Immature Paragon Protectors; Run the final New Buzzsaw arc 3 times.  Don't take the liquid samples, then log on and off to reset it.

    * Warhulks and Jaegars; Do Pandora's Box part 5, the cowntact in Steel Cownyon, the Jaegar for these. A team cud be advised to speed that up. You cown also run laps around the south of Peregrine Isle if L50 to find a tonne of grey Jaegars and the odd Warhulk.

    * Sappers: World Wide Red arc has beef suggested for these...

    * Rularuu: Shadow shard obviously, but any tips as to where?

Does anyone else have any choice cuts for how to grab these badges the easy whey?

    Hi again,

    the new file should work.

    image.png.a47b5e7969d981d55bf320d4652f821e.png

there is 50 lines, each line start with settitle 0 (and is beeing ignored), then the proper ids

Ok, using this new version, and your suspicion was cow-rect, and it's found all 1514 badges and registered them; thank moo!

There's one more I can still cow-lect in game, Master Of ITF, so I'll try and have it running when I go for it and check if the app spots it...

  14. There's an error for myself that I'm not sure what the cause is. I've downloaded the tool and the 2500 text, ran the bind in game, but the tool reports different "Possible Matches" depending on how much wider chat has been recorded. (Getting into game and running it as fast as possible was still showing 1618 "Possible Matches").

On the Leaderboard, it's showing me with 1482, but my actual total is 1514.

Also in Firefox, if I click to Edit the profile, I can select the gump for the Server & Archetype, but there's no gump to submit it, and all I can do is escape out again.

Let me know if I can help track down the issues...

Well, I've seen a Nemesis Invasion now, the event spawns across multiple zones, but the final badge bearing boss didn't appear in our Kings Row instance, but was in Talos and Peregrine apparently.  If it's like the older versions, the consensus was it re-appears every 150-200 minutes, and you need 10+ people in a zone.

    I stayed up a bit later to try and get the badge, and here's what I saw;

    * The event spawned at 2 hours 30 minutes after the last one did, so 150 hours dot on.

    * I was already waiting in zone when it did,  in Peregrine Island and a League was set up again.

    * I got the badge within a few minutes of it starting; someone said they'd seen a Giant Monster version of Nemesis amongst the crowd, and it was 2x the size of the Fake Nemesis. I however saw nothing special when I got the badge, so I can't say for sure what the target is supposed to be.

    * I called a friend in as before, and he joined the league again, but after I got the badge. We were there for another 10-15 minutes or so killing Nemesis, and he didn't get the badge. So maybe the target only spawns once?

    * I don't believe that the badge is from killing Nemesis in general, it might be, but I'd expect my friend to get it as over time he surely killed enough to match my kills, as the badge dropped so early in the second one for me.

    * I haven't heard yet how long this event will be around, but make sure you have global event announcements set in your chat channel to see them, as some said they'd heard GMs in game say it wasn't just for the 1st.

Oh! No, that's not a new badge: https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/A_Nemesis_Plot_Badge

I didn't know they were running Nemmy plots today, I haven't seen any yet.  It may be a random thing on the server, like the Rikti invasions?

I played for about 7 months last year after launch and never saw it; my understanding was it wasn't live yet. There's a vague reference in the April 1st patch notes, but no one knows if it's a seasonal or not and I don't want to miss it on my badger...

The Nemesis has always been running.  It will always be running, until...

I don't believe the invasion that gives the "Nemesis Plot" badge has existed before yesterday/today? There was a wave of invasions earlier, idling in game now in hopes of cowtching it again...

Come on folks.  Help these guys help you!  Work the process, and in most cases, the problem can be solved.

From what I've seen, most issues seem to be tied to how the game client was originally installed, or conflicts with drivers and other things running on users computers, as opposed to problems with the game client itself.  That means that they are helping you solve issues on your device, which is really generous of them.  They really want everyone to be able to play the game, but they need your feedback using the prescribed process to do it.

As someone who has worked in the industry (I was staff on Ultima Online for a while), it's never a good idea to try and claim the process is all, because software developers are often terrible at human resources skills, and if you don't know how to handle people then no matter how good your code is, you'll be unable to solve the problem because you don't know how to handle the interface between it and the real world applications of that code.

I know you mean well, but the perfect example of where it can go wrong is I'd personally love to help, but the process described to me to help back on page 1 causes worse crashes and I'm still waiting on an explanation of how to avoid the patcher over-writing the changes. It's a bit insulting then to read your comments about how we the user somehow need to be more positive in helping.

So, the reason why you never blame the customer is not because they're perfect, or you have to be a slave to them, but rather that you can't drive away someone who has already decided to dislike you, but you can upset someone who was favourable towards you by a poor choice of words.

And whilst it's possible I have an edge case "on my device", but with PCs being entirely modular these days, writing code for multiple devices is to be expected, it's not a "generous" thing. That also misunderstands the way consumer reporting works; you'll never hear about most people's problems because most just don't bother chasing them. CoH's install base is also relatively small on top of that. But the issue can still be serious even if the pure data seems to be small; think of Bethesda declaring that the ability to steal someone's entire inventory, including real money purchased items, was only a limited bug that affected only a tiny majority of players. An absolutely catastrophic mis-representing of the actual severity of what the real issue was.

So... by all means encourage people to help more. But the answer to something going wrong is never to point the finger at the person suffering it.
