  1. My favorite map of Atlas Park isn't necessarily the Halloween map, nor the Winter one, but the one right in-between. Where the trees are mixed with red leaves and empty trunks. Where the front and sides of City Hall has some Fall touches, and the Candy Cane vendor, but not quite "Winter Wonderland". Which brings me to the 'ask': is it possible to make a similar map to "step down" from Winter rather than "Once the Winter Lords are gone, back to green"? In other words, a post-Holidays Winter Atlas Park map with the following touches: -- Trees with no leaves around ("Evergreen Trees" present on all three maps left as they are, of course). -- Some patches of snow left behind with some green breaking through, some planters still iced over. -- Keep the Prometheus Park lake snow-banked and iced over. Lower to the street level, to me it still makes sense for Winter. This map would run from the conclusion of the Holiday event through Spring Fling. Once the Valentine's are done being passed around, then change to the Spring & Summer Atlas Park we all know. I know map changes take time to do and isn't as fast as "I just futzed with it over the weekends last month", so 2027 or later is perfectly fine. Just an idea. (Going for broke: add these to Null the Gull? "Visit Atlas Park during another time of the year"? No mobs, no doors, no contacts, just an exit portal in front of City Hall.) Terminally online folks, anti-casual brigadiers, and the "no more RP appeasement, moar difficulty" types, do as you will.

  2. Odd, but on brand with this game engine. Glad you got it to work!
  3. Some insight: this is a game that was developed when CRTs roamed the earth and a 2K display cost $1,000s and in CRT land weighed a ton. (Or was one of those "flat CRT" semi-HD displays that used DVI Dual Link.) (I know, I know, "Shut up old guy hiding behind a cartoon, this isn't helping.") Fine, here's what might: -- Are you able to use FMF on any other title? If so, I got nothing. Disregard the rest of this. -- If not, or this is the only game you play (big assumption on my part) are you running at that refresh rate? Don't count on the game, check Windows. Is your display running at 144Hz? (Even if you are happy with 60Hz, this is helpful to enable modern game features.) -- Monitor capable of it? If G-Sync or Freesync, does the monitor have it turned on in the on screen display, or a Gaming Mode to enable it? -- Using a HDMI or DisplayPort Cord made in the last three years? Even if it's working, consider replacing it. (You'd be surprised how a $15 cable bottlenecks a new video card.)
  4. There was someone like this on Titan Forums back in the day who just couldn't stop with the "Everything is falling apart, so here's why I think deleting Controllers is the fix the game needs to survive" or other crackpot ideas and it's basically setting the calendar to see "Oh, new activity on the foru-- oh, this again, and 12-15 folks feeding him. Must be Friday."
  5. In Parallel-- Users: "Tequila is no longer being supported. Move to HC Launcher before it is retired." HC Staff: "No, seriously, Tequila manifests will stop being published soon." -- but no, let's keep using Tequila. HC Staff doesn't know what they're talking about, and if enough of us insist on using Tequila, they'll have to relent. This isn't practical advice, but okay.
  6. Disclaimer to the above... X11, for lack of maintainers, is kind of a sinking ship. Keep in mind that bug fixes on Wayland are more likely to get work done over X11 at this point. Not trying to say which is better, they're both flawed in my purview. Temporary fix, works for today? Sure. Knock yourself out. Just keep that .conf file in mind when it stops working.
