    Also just made a DM/Ice Scrapper and hoping it'll be a fun end game toon as i was caught up deciding between TW/Ice and this. Anyway below is my take on the combo. Please feel free to ad advice as i'm always keen to see what others think and for this particular character its my 1st time levelling either of the powersets.

     

    The idea seemed to churn out enough recharge without gimping my defenses...see what you think. Also haven't included incarnates yet.

  2. Pretty self explanatory, am just looking for critiques from more experienced on the titled secondaries as I haven't rolled either of them on top of never rolling water/.

     

    Am looking for the ability to farm at end game and water/ seemed the way to go as well as my love for the blapper/blanker playstyle.

     

    Don't necessary need any builds as i like to tinker with blasters (specifically) in mids but if you're fond of something by all means. Mainly looking for peoples opinions and/or experience with the sets. (hell if there's a secondary you feel is better at the above then i'm all ears :))

  3. Quickly cobbled this together, I'm missing 3 slots as I swapped out a power last minute and cant be bothered redoing the whole build (as it was at the 6th power selection). Also i'm using Pines and not Heroes Reborn (cant get it to work currently) so Sudden Acceleration should be assumed for Tornado and lightning storm over whats there currently...

     

    I'm not tied to the ice power pool, just liked the idea of ice storm thematically.

     

    Please those in the know give me some feedback. This combo seems quite slot hungry but i guess it's what you should be looking to build towards...I might be just as well be better off removing slots for more recharge than +def. Thoughts?

  4. Any builds lying around to give people an idea of where to start? as I too am way late to this synergy however going in blind seems rather daunting. Very appreciative of the advice already given above 🙂

    The build you posted has also opened my eyes a bit also, i never thought of using the Soul Mastery Pool but it occurs to me that it's even more thematically accurate for the character than Body Mastery. Shadow Meld, what a great power! moving between that and MoG for every mob to mitigate the alpha is going to be dangerously good!

  8. Looking at making a vampire themed stalker akin to Alucard from Castlevania.

     

    Am just wondering about/Regen's viability as a Stalker? is it a ball ache to level? survivable at end game? (with high investment i assume). If so then i'm more than happy to put the time in etc if it'll be beastmode at end game as i've heard the Scrapper version of /Regen can be also. If not, then i'll probably look at /SR as to stick with concept, either way i'm staying with BS/ as i've read it's quite the hard hitting primary on Stalkers.

     

    So provided it'll more than be able to crush end game content (and also not feel like it's a grind the whole way there), I'll take a stab and say build wise going for softcap S/L and then after that as much +recharge as i can get? being as how very click heavy /Regen is.

    I ended up creating the toon last night before bed so i'll see what the next couple of days worth of levelling hold and if its somewhat lacklaster and grindy then i might have to rethink my options.

     

    I currently am planning on a hasten-less build (because power picks are slim outside primary/secondary/epics. And recharge doesn't seem to be an issue with quickness and set recharge bonuses) so looking at boxing, tough, weave, CJ and SS for thematic reasons. Will post a rough build shortly 🙂

  10. Hi all!

     

    Like the title says, 1st time trying to create a Sentinel and it seems a little daunting so hopefully will be able to grab some advice from more experienced Sentinel players.

     

    I have a concept for a Psy/ character and it was either going to be a /Mental Blaster or a /SR Sentinel. Psy/ doesn't seem to be the most popular of primaries and thus i've had trouble trying to find info on it. Never the less i have a concept that i think will be fun on paper.

     

    My questions are - a)  will it be an enjoyable ride to 50 and not a slug fest if im solo?  b) A welcomed addition to end game content and not considered lacklaster dps?  c) What am I building for with /SR on a Sentinel? im assuming posi def, then recharge and recovery?  d) Power Pool picks seem slim with /SR as always so minus the Speed power pool what is good to prioritise?

     

    To put into context i would like to be able to run into a mob, Wail, Shockwave and then get outta there and start my ST rotation with Shockwave thrown in the mix when needed (yes i want to be taking Psi Mastery...and by the looks of it, everything except Mass Hypnosis). I guess im worried about the damage output at end game, but if the damage scale is slightly less than a blaster but the survivability is far superior and easier/cheaper to build with using IO's then that's all i need.

     

    I hope that all makes sense to someone out there! I don't mind posting a build of at least my power picks once i've tinkered in Pines some more. If someone has any builds of their own by all means...it at least gives me something to build on 🙂

    This is my 1st attempt at building a /Bio scrapper and honestly, I was tossing up between this and WM/Bio or WM/SD because I've been reading that BS has fallen behind in the damage numbers in comparison to WM. If that's the case I guess it wouldn't be too difficult to port the build over to WM. Anywho I digress, I have found a concept I like and am gonna run with it :)

     

    Now no clue in how to slot /Bio or what powers are skippable as I have never built one before but I would love some feedback on the build below :)

    Ok so the above is a very...VERY rough draft on simply trying to achieve permadom without gimping too much on defense (as well as limiting purples). Either way, though this seems a very slot hungry combo and don't mind the missing slots etc...i'm still working out how to get the best out of my EPP. Testing with Primal thanks too Mezmera's advice :) Stealth is simply there as a LOTG set mule. Please any advice on power picks would be muchly appreciated as I'm wracking my brain on how I can make this work!

  14. Wow I didn't expect to read that there's so much wiggle room in /Dark with only 2 set defining powers. I've currently picked up everything except Night Fall on my Fire/Dark :P I mean the ST attacks are well above average, the PBAoE is the hardest hitting one of all Dom assault sets with the exception of Atom Smasher from Rad Assault (but that has a smaller radius admittedly). This is all coming from Pines so whether in game is different I don't know yet. Also, I enjoy being amongst it hence the decision to pick Fire/ and the power picks I made (looking to be able to do similar things the Fire/Psi can do farm wise whether that's viable?). Unless I can be swayed otherwise I'm open to options on power picks though :)

     

    Grabbed the Ice EPP for Sleet/Frozen Armor/Ice Storm (makes it easier to slot for LOTG+Recharge it seems for the purpose of permadom/hasten otherwise I would've liked to pick the Fire EPP.)

    How is the /Dark attack powers working out for you? what level are you currently at? as mentioned before /Dark isn't my strong suit but it appears to have an array of abilities that fit my play style!

    Long time lurker/player but 1st-time poster.

     

    Not much of a Dominator specialist let alone /Dark so I'm handing this off to people with more experience than I. Is there a reason you don't see (at least in my experience) many /Dark Doms around? The reason I ask is I've just created a Fire/Dark in the hopes that I'll be able to enjoy all content (solo/group/farm) without having to make your stereotypical Fire/Psi or Fire/Kin etc. I do enjoy the Splattroller style of gameplay I must say hence why I chose Fire/Dark to begin with (seeing a PBAoE and high ST Damage powers gets me excited) I just don't have much of a clue as to what exactly is skippable in /Dark.

     

    I can post the build (at least power pick wise) that I've started down if that'll help give people an idea of where I'm coming from.

  17. As Rikis pointed out get the melee attacks, the are awesome in the set. The dark power boost is a bit special because

    it has a dmg buff too. Plus Midnight Grasp can take the dominator IO sets, so that you could add the +dmg or orb IO there

    with a melee dmg IO set.

     

    Add some macros to your list that can help certain things. You need to change it for your buiild but as an example for my fire/dark/ice I added:

     

    /bind q "powexec_location target Sleet"

     

    /bind e "powexec_location target Bonfire"

     

    /bind r "powexec_location me Gather Shadows"

     

    Sleet is from the epic pool so that when you press q you it will now cast on your target location and r will use the self buff.

    Works with other powers too so in case you pickup Spring Attack from the leaping pool you could add it instead for the Fire Bonefire and so on.

     

     

    In case you found the howling from the Umbra Beast later annoying you can silence the sound with a null file, no need to turn off the audio. There is a guide somewhere for this and works for any other sound you dislike too

     

    Marex would you mind posting a build? as I myself am keen on the idea of a Fire/Dark Dom and don't know why we don't see more /Dark as it is. I'm tossing up between /Dark and /Rad atm but i'm leaning more for /Dark for the -toHit and PBAoE that seems like it hits the hardest of any PBAoE (of 15+ feet :P)
