  1. This may sounds silly, but do you have your abilities slotted with accuracy and recharge?

I do know Earth and Fire loves to aggro, especially Hot Feet--delay Hot Feet 'til you have high defenses or NPCs are held, etc. Play it safe until your Domination is up, for example, don't open with Stone Cages or Fire Cages first until someone charges in. Salt Crystal/Earthquake/Smoke/Bonfire (with KB to KD slotted) are all good opener--pray your team know what to do with Salt Crystals 😕.

Dark is really easy to play. Open with Possess, then use Fearsome Stare to reduce their -tohit. Use Possess/ST Hold on runners, then DPS the feared ones first. Activate Heart of Darkness after the fear and confuse wore off--keep DPSing them down. Dark/Fire is really fun!

  2. A couple thoughts off the top of my head:

    1) Can you actually even slot both Frozen Blast and the Superior Frozen Blast in-game?

    2) Carrion Creepers is a great power to put damage procs into since it takes so many kinds

    3) The contagious confusion proc in Seeds of Confusion is absolutely insane (it means it effectively never "misses" and will generally mean that you can get a few seconds of confuse on bosses even if Domination is down for some reason) and the 5% ranged defense bonus isn't bad either.

    4) You probably don't need so much +tohit in Spot Prey, and you should definitely put the Gaussian's chance for build up proc in it.

    5) I assume you meant to put the +3% defense Steadfast Protection in instead of the knockback protection IO.

    6) Taking the 2nd slot out of Assault and putting it into Health lets you slot the Miracle +Recovery IO, which nets you +0.19 end/sec recovery (Assault uses 0.06 more but the IO gives you +0.25)

    7) A full Panacea set is a pretty expensive way to get 7.5% recharge.  I'd put either 5 Doctored Wounds into Blood Craze (5% recharge) or the full set of Preventive Medicine (8.75% recharge and a nice endurance discount)

After playing in Pine's for a while I came up with this, which I don't think is perfect, but I do think it makes better use of your slots in some ways :)  I dropped Cross Punch because i feel like you should have enough good attacks with Savage Assault.  I'd like to take the slots out of Kick, too.

First of all, thank you for the feedback! There's a couple things I'd like to say...

-I'm not sure if it's worth to put damage procs into Creepers, they take a while to spawn a tentacle. With my limited testing, sometimes the proc fires, sometimes they don't.  The current PPM is tricky to test. Gah.

-I suppose you can put the Contagious Confusion proc into Seeds, but it's a cone and I don't have any issues if it missed--DPS the non-confused ones. <shrugs> As for the ranged defenses, I prefer to focus on melee defenses, since Savage Assault is heavy on melee with only two range attacks (Call Swarm is a joke, its dps is really weak). Can you explain why you pick range over melee defenses?

-You're right about the +tohit in Spot Prey. Also, you're right about the Karma issue, it's supposed to be +3% defense, not the KB.

-I don't think it's worth to put Miracle proc into Health because of (Perma)Domination/Numina's proc/Performance's Shifter. Is it bit overkill with Miracle proc?

Edit: I forgot to mention about Roots, why did you slotted the ATOs into Roots? Roots is ridiculously powerful (dps wise) compare to other AE immobs. I'm not sure if the proc fires often into Roots because of the current PPM. Roots's CD is shorter than Creepers.

  3. Sorry, sorry. I got distracted by keyes/magisterium itrial. Got Master of Keyes badge ^_^

Anyway, I must be blind. I don't see any shadows, I guess that was due to my teammates (colorful) buffs--I did said I was in two different TFs on my /Dark troller. However, been playing for 30 minutes, no glitch issue or flickering. Are you sure you still see the glitch?

    Y1llN6t.png

  4. Yes that's the glitch I'm talking about!

Wait...you're still seeing the glitch? No shadows with bright-colored eyes? Well, that's odd. I started to see the shadows with bright colored eyes two days ago. I freaking love it. It's similar to Dark Servant, but the shadows are different, it's actually smoother than the Dark Servant's.

Have you changed the color of Fade in costume creation? What about your settings? Play around with the shadows or something to see if anything changed?

Edit: Actually, I'll try to take a screenie.

  5. Uhh...yeah, that's hard to explain.

Currently, Fade envelopes you and your allies into shadows with bright-colored eyes. The glitch is the opposite, you can see through your body and your allies. No bright-colored eyes too.

    It's disturbing.

I realized it may have something to do with graphic settings, maybe. Either way, I'm really happy with the current one. I was just wondering if they fixed it or not.

  6. Really? 41 Views and no replies? Ayyyyy.

I'm not entirely positive about taking Leadership, maybe I should switch with Stealth pool. I'm gonna remove the second slot from Call Swarm and add into something else.

I have a Plant/Savage build but my mids is being shit soo can't exactly post it. I can try if you'd like? It doesnt have good defense but it does have perma dom and Creepers( I think. Well, they always follow for quite a few mobs before the timer comes up, and I usually see a vine when it comes up again so I guess that's perma?).

Yes, I would love to see it and compare with the revised build. I was thinking about defenses because savage assault is very melee heavy, I imagine a melee Dominator will get hit a lot due to no defenses (from powersets).

If you don't feel comfortable posting on the forums, then you can PM me or contact on Discord, whatever works for you--let me know.

  7. I'm sure some of you know Fade from playing Darkness Affinity. Fade have a weird glitch issue for a while (I think Live too).

I ran two different TFs on my Dark/Dark, I did not see the glitch issue anymore. Did they fixed that or it was pure luck?

  8. Really? 41 Views and no replies? Ayyyyy.

  9. Hey all! I'm working on Plant/Savage build, I only have two priorities for this build; Recharge (Obviously) and Defenses.

I'm not an expert on defenses...how does it looks? Is my defenses enough? Savage is very heavy on melee, I'm wondering if the defenses is enough? I want to do just about everything in the game such as open world, itrials, TFs/SFs, if that answers your question.

The build may seems expensive but doable.

  10. Ice have really low DPS, not sure if you want to solo with low DPS. Icy assault's very heavy on end costs, it's crazy.

I suppose Ice/Fire can do good, but I recommend Mind/Fire. Mind is the #1 to solo and Fire have high DPS, no clue on the new sets such as Radioactive or Savage though.

  11. I think I'd take Entangling Aura at 35 and Weave at 49, and leave out Earth's Embrace. You can three slot it for End/Hold/Rech and get a lot of situational value out of it. The +Def Unique could go in Wild Growth. It's very useful for soloing and small team play, and losing out on a self heal when your secondary is Nature is losing out on very little.

... and, personal preference, I'd probably take Hover and Flight instead of CJ and Mystic Flight.

Yeah, been working for probably 2 weeks. I'm pretty satisfied with my build. My final build dropped Lifegiving Spores and took Entangling Aura. I had a lot of stress regarding Lifegiving Spores for a lot of things, it's just ridiculous. I'm truly happy with my final build.

As for travel powers, it's a matter of preference. I hate Hover, it's really slow and it's totally sucks in caves.

  12. I've not fully leveled my /Nature toon, but thus far the only thing I've skipped is Spore Cloud.  The debuffs are nice but given the very long recharge it's not getting used much. I think the Rez is worthwhile, since it doubles as a strong single-target HoT, and it's nice to have on hand when grouping. Doubly so if TP is your travel power.

    snipped

I like Healing Spores.  The heal is not amazing, but it's noticeable, costs nearly nothing, and is fast recharging if you need to move the patch.  I probably get more use out of it as a Beasts primary though, since my minions are melee.  It pretty trivial to slap the patch down in the midst of 3-5 mobs, order the pack into melee and let them sit there accruing heals and End.  The heal is worth throwing a couple slots into, but the End buff is so tiny it's not worth it to try and enhance it.

Why, WHY on earth did you skip Spore Cloud? -Hit, -DMG, -Regen isn't enough for you? Recharge for Spore Cloud is fine, it will get better when you have global recharge. It shouldn't be an issue for you. As for Lifegiving Spores, I'm not sure why you used it for healing considering you have Regrowth, Wild Growth, and Wild Bastion. Regrowth heals better than Lifegiving Spores even it's a cone ability. I used the end procs like Performance and Panacea into Lifegiving Spores, it's pretty good.

Edit: Forgot to mention one more thing; other debuffs from different powersets have long CD. We're lucky Spore Cloud doesn't have a long CD.

  13. It's depends on your preferences.

Lifegiving Spores and Entangling Aura are both skippable. Some might disagree with me, let me explain those abilities.

The heals from Lifegiving Spores is a joke, it's so MINOR. It's best to use the ability for endurance buff, but do you have issue with endurance management as a MM? Up to you to take it or not.

Entangling Aura is basically a toggle aura, the duration for hold is pretty damn short. I don't know if it is worth to take it..

  14. DoT stacking is kind of what i'm looking for. Was a Warlock main in WoW, trying to find something as close to that as possible.

Never liked Warlock in WoW.  Drood forever and always!  ;D

Seriously though, if you like DoT, Dark Blast have lots of DoT.  Fire Blast/Dark Miasma Corruptor fits perfectly with Destruction Warlock theme. Demon Summoning/Dark Miasma fits with Demonology Warlock theme. As for Affliction, that one is a bit hard, any AT have dark blast or dark miasma I suppose...

Check Paragon Wiki if you're not familiar with archetype or powersets I mentioned.

  15. Dark/Dark is a very tight build.

Living Shadows: It depends on your preference; slot damage, to-hit debuff, or immob IOs. For me personally, I used to hit debuffs.

Fearsome Stare: to-hit debuff IOs without a doubt. You can slot fear IOs, but I found to-hit debuff helps a lot better than fear.

Heart of Darkness and Shadow Field should have Stun and Hold IOs respectively. You can slot ATO set in one of those abilities. I used ATO sets in my Heart of Darkness.

Please note; if you do slot any damage IO into Fearsome Stare, they will strike you back or run away. From my experiences, fear duration doesn't last long.

  16. Honestly, Fire Control is good and all, but Plant. PLANT! It's an amazing control set.

Seeds of Confusion is a gem, Roots will bring flyers down and use Vines (Vines only work on the ground). Carrion Creepers are so beautiful. A lot of people underestimated Fly Trap. She attacks fast unlike Stone or Ice pet, with Achilles heel proc, she's about to get nasty. She also have high resistance to just about every type, high defenses against Psionic, but weak against Fire and Lethal. That sounds awesome, right? Spore Burst can be useful for soloing or set bonuses. Spirit Tree is a pretty tree, but kind of annoying you can't move it around and your secondary powerset offers better results than Spirit Tree. <shrugs>

Plants works really well with every secondary abilities, yes even Trick Arrow, Sonic Resonance or Force Field.

PS Fire Imps are so damn squishy.

  17. So the reason I asked Meowtastic to spell out the logic was because I thought the way the advice was written was a little ... opinion-phrased-as-fact. And I wanted to see a more detailed explanation of the opinion and the underlying logic written out because that's what I think should have been written in the first place instead of a dismissive "nothing else helps."

I agree that tohitdebuff is a good thing to slot for and the best bang-for-buck overall; I think that's good advice. I disagree with the logic that just because you can't order the pet to use a particular power such as its heal it's of no value to ever slot it. I think that's too dismissive of other people's play styles. If someone wanted to slot an accurate heal set like Touch of the Nictus I would respect that was their choice. Why would they do this someone asked? Maybe they want more heals, it's as simple as that.

Maybe someone wants to try loading Fluffy up with a couple procs? Valid. Going back to the top of the thread the question was if the pet was a damage dealer or a control type beast and yes the answer is simple it's a damage dealer. I didn't say never slot for fear or tohit debuff, just that damage would the best priority.

You're absolutely right. You, or anyone else, can slot however you want.

Based on my experience with my main, D4 (Dark Miasma/Dark Blast/Darkness Mastery Defender--RIP) on Virtue, I find the to hit debuffs helps A LOT.

  18. Whereas I should load up Dark Servant with a Tohit debuff set?

4 or 6 Cloud Senses--take your pick. Other sets doesn't help (Holds, Healing, or Immoblize) because you have no control over Dark Servant.

I don't understand your logic here. You're saying because you can't command the servant to spam its heal you shouldn't slot for heal for when he does? Can you please explain further?

Dark Servant have 5 abilities to use, he's not going to keep spamming one ability often. However, they all have one thing in common; To Hit Debuff. That Cloud Senses is pretty good with recharge and defense bonuses. Besides, why would you slot heal, hold or immobilize if you have plenty of control from your primary powerset and you have Twilight Grasp.

  19. Honestly, the current PPM (proc per minute) is different from Live. Some people do put damage procs into Carrion Creepers. Some don't.

I use Ragnarok's instead. (5 Ragnarok and 1 standard recharge IO).

Edit: The winter ATO for Carrion Creepers looks better than the one I mentioned but it's really pricey >_<
