  1. I planned Tess as a ranged blaster, and I think I have done a good job on the powers up to lvl 47, but I welcome comments for possible improvements. Since I have Shocking Bolt, I could drop Tesla Cage and do something else, but I am not sure what, but having two holds is nice in case one misses. I think I will drop Burnout and take Vengeance.   2. I am second guessing myself on several skill picks, so I could use some suggestions for improvement. Because Blackstar, Midnight Grasp, Dark Consumption, and Soul Drain are all being in melee range, I have taken Smite and Shadow Maul. Should I get rid of one of those and take Moonbeam instead? Also, should I add or change the slotting on Life Drain to do more damage? Thanks for advice, and if anything else comes to mind, please mention it.   3. I know they changed the rules on how a snipe can be instantaneous, but I am not sure how to make that work in my build. Suppose I take out Thunder Strike, and replace it with Zapp. What else must happen for Zapp to be instant cast? Thanks.   4. Thank you for clarifying soft cap and hard cap, and I appreciate all the feedback.
  5. The hurdle slot was a "where do I put my one left-over slot?" which I should have announced in my post. I love fighting Romans in ITF, but their Def Debuff hurts, a lot. I guess I need a reminder of what soft cap and hard cap means, as I have forgotten a lot. Thanks for your suggestions.
  6. I have 57.7% Melee Def, and essentially 45% Ranged and AoE. S/L resistance is at 75%. I know that a brute can go up to 90%, but hopefully he will be fighting a lot 🙂 Is this a good build, or did I miss something obvious, or are there tweaks to make it better?   7. Apparition, I tried loading your build into Mids and Pines. Pines did not do anything, Mids gave me a few errors. Not sure what the issue is. Perhaps you could do an export short forum and data link to see if that helps. Thanks very much.
  8. Thanks for the suggestions, I will work on rearranging things to get tough and weave in the build....stealth and invis were just LOTG mules. For some reason I thought Bio Armor was strong enough that you did not need tough and weave, and with Pine's not giving correct values I was like, eh, let's see what happens. Now I know more 🙂 Thanks again all.
  9. Excellent suggestions from all of you, thank you. My dilemma is what powers to give up in order to fit in boxing, tough, and weave? I don't know what is vital in Bio Armor versus what can be left out. Thanks.
  10. I have downloaded the latest (v2.22 Pine's) I assume, where the patch notes said that Bio Armor numbers were fixed. I looked at my build and I need some major assistance with recipe slotting. I thought I had a reasonable build, but my S/L def (11%) is terrible, S/L res is ok (69%) for a scrapper. Suggestions on altering recipes or slotting are much needed, or perhaps I don't understand some of the skills and what I have is fine, for instance, 506% regeneration. Thank you.   11. I have heard that dark armor has endurance issues, but I still wanted to try a dark melee / dark armor brute. I am not sure if I can swing one fist before running out of endurance...half joking. I am sure once I hit 50 and get Cardiac things will be a lot better, but that is a long ways away right now. Suggestions on improvements please? At least I got 54.2% S/L Def and 78.5% S/L Res, but that may have to be lowered to get better endurance costs. Thanks.   12. I saw a rad / rad brute in action, and thought he was great, so I decided to try making one myself. I am not sure how Irradiated Ground works, so I may need much better slotting than what I currently have. Suggestions are appreciated. Thank you. I got up to 85.2% S/L Resistance and 43.9% Def, but some other areas may need help as well.   13. I am enjoying playing my fire blast / martial combat blaster, but I was trying to use the combat log to find out how much damage Burst of Speed was doing, as well as Bonfire. The message I saw in the combat log said the Burst of Speed granted me more damage for a short while, and Bonfire just says activated. Perhaps I don't know where the damage listed is, but other powers are showing damage when I attack. Pine's shows some damage values for Bonfire, but nothing for Burst of Speed. I hope somehow can clarify what is going on or how I can see this information correctly. Thank you.
