  1. Hey everyone so this is a build I used as a temporary S/L farmer before I got my fire farmer going.
    How would you rebuild this for normal game content and or epic content or whatever they called I forget the name? 

    I'd like to stick with Mu mastery. I like elec for all 3.

    Currently when I play with him in normal content I notice I have energy issues.

    My focus on the build was high damage so in my mind his damage is high but im no expert at brutes so maybe i'm wrong.

    He will be for teams not solo.

  2. Hi everyone,

    Maybe i'm way off but i'm always seeing farming messages asking for a Kin.

    For supporting a farmer what is difference between Kin and Rad?

    To me reading the powers it seems that 

    Kin has siphon power and speed boost. One boosts damage, other boosts health & endurance and recharge.

     

    Rad has Accelerate Metabolism which kinda boost damage, health, end, and recharge i think.  As well as debuffers that would help drop enemies quicker.

     

    What is the preference for Kin over Rad for support or am I missing something from the Kin powerset?

    Ok so i took what you suggested and put a build together.

    My focus was to use the suggested for the empathy set, then try to soft cap my S/L damage resistance.

    Let me know what you think.

    Im too used to soft-capping damage resistance and/or defense on my toons that I wasn't sure if that should be a focus on this toon.

    He would be used for teaming normal content primarily as support. 
    Bring out my singularity, use propel sometimes, but otherwise focus on the empath powers.

  4. Hey everyone,

    Not sure if there is a post or area for this but if i want to try fighting AV's is there a guide to finding them?

    Like what contacts - missions.

    Or can I go to ouroborus and select a mission there that will have a AV?

    Any guide?

    I'm wanting to test my super reflex scrapper so i guess maybe whatever AV's would be a good test for him.

    I'm sure there's some that just not doable correct?

    Maybe its best this idea stop before it starts lol. 

     

    I was trying to think of a way where if we team we rely on each role more.

    You are wrong.  It is a horrid premise.  it would not work well with this game.  Also, as someone who has done 'crawl' teams a few times, getting people to show up and be consistent each week is challenging.  life happens.  nerfing the Archetype to fit your game within a game is not going to increase turnout.

  7. Hey everyone so i wanted to make a empathy toon. I figured id go controller becuz i could mix with gravity verse the blasts options in the defender set.

    Gravity i mainly want propel just cuz its fun animation. So these toon would be empath priority over grav powers.

    Can someone suggest a fairly cheap build for this. Or suggestions on slotting.

    This is a theme-toon for me. Gonna have some unconventional powers like the teleport pool and the experiment travel pool.

    Just need suggestions on how to slot empathy and maybe some grav musts.

    Currently he has propel crushing field singularity and maybe 1 other power i forgot.

    For AV builds is Focused Accuracy worth having?

    If so, do you run with it on, or just use it for any set bonuses?

    Also what is the damage max for a scrapper?

    Last, How important is ToHit vs Accuracy for fighting AV's?

    My toon that' i'm working on a AV build is Dark Melee/SR.

    I tried solo'ing Diabolique, (i know some AV's may be harder or easier for SR toons). 

    My survivability was fine but doesn't seem I was quite doing enough damage over time.

     

    Some ingame stats:

    Accuracy: 1.45x normal...1.65x with Focused Accuracy on.

    Damage bonus: 12% without soul consumption 22.50% with assault on.

    Tohit bonus: 75% base, 80% with Focused Accuracy.

     

     


     

     

  9. Ya i mean maybe i have the wrong idea here.
    My idea is to try to play with game with style of Champions Online.

    (Don't get mad at me for mentioning that name hehe)

    I played CO and in its own right I enjoyed it a lot. 
    Still prefer COH over CO.

    But I did like how in CO like the tanks handle the damage, and the dps are the ones damaging like the monsters, and the healers are very important to keeping heroes alive.


    That is what I was hoping to achieve with this idea.

    In this game so many of our toons are so strong (which is good i myself have a scrapper that pretty much won't die),

    but i was thinking for a different experience and  maybe a more team based success rate experience.


    But ya maybe what i've suggested isn't quite the same thing as what I was hoping for.

    I had a idea for a little different gameplay experience.
    Does anyone think this could be fun lol.. this only aplies to the blue side archetypes since red side kinda mixes them i think.

    So in my time playing this game this is the role breakdown. Maybe you agree or disagree.
    DPS: Blaster, Scrapper, 

    Healer: Defender

    Controller: Controller:
    Tank: Tank

     

    So i was thinking of forming a sg where we make new toons and play powers that only fit that exact model.
    So for example blasters & scrapper only play damaging powers not any heal, buff, or controller-like powers

    Controllers only play their powers that controll.
    Tanks only play powers that hold aggro.

    Defenders only play healing powers.

    My thought process is that most comic book heroes kinda fit that idea.
    They don't usually have like damaging powers, and controlling powers, and healing powers, etc....

    of course there's exceptions.

    But my idea here would make it so that when we team together we are strictly relying on the defender to heal us, and the tank to keep enemies away from us and for blasters & scrappers to be the ones killing enemies.

     

    Thoughts?
    Maybe fun? 

    Or ridiculously awful idea? lol

    we would start from lvl 1 and level up together when we're online together.

  11. @crakerhacker My build that i posted higher up in here does really well. But i think i may do a 3rd build this time focus on damage more after i soft-cap defense instead of focusing on incarnate level defense.
    Can you send a link of the changes to dark melee so me and others can make note of them.

    So i've always kinda wanted to team up and sorta "roleplay" during missions.
    But I don't know if what i'm thinking is considered roleplaying or if anyone does it.

    Or maybe this is what all roleplaying is i dont know.

     

    But i'd like to work within a team where like maybe you walk into a mission and you tell the blasters to take out the people up top, then the tanker distracts a group while the scrappers sneak by.
    then you ambush them.

    Or something like that.

    Or maybe you have someone with superspeed thats in charge or trying to grab all the glowies and you only attack if he gets in trouble.

    Anyone do anything like that?
    Or maybe be interested in trying something like that if i tried to organize something?

    I know that when you create a mission you can set up dialogue from your contact in case you fail.

    But is there any way to go to a "next" mission if you fail?
    I don't believe so but figured i'd ask in case I was wrong.

    Would be kinda neat if you could make a storyline that changes depending on if you succeed or fail.

  15. Hey guys so this a build i been working on for my ice blaster over on excelsior.

    i think its going to easily be my most expensive build and I think most would say this is money "not" well spent hehe.

    But in my mind I've always believed the fire or ice characters should be resistance against each other.
    So i've built him with the only thing in mind being to soft cap his f/c resistance and then get his f/c defense as high as I can.
    I think i've achieved that with this build.

    I do have a main build for him that is soft-capped at range for when i do normal or team content.

    This build is literally only  just to duo farm fire maps with a fire farmer.

  16. Hey guys, 

    Maybe there's a post of this that I haven't seen but when converting enhancements is it completely random or is there any pattern?
    If I wanna convert & sell on the market is there a pattern to follow to get to like a "health" enhancement", or a "resist damage" enhancement?

    Or is it completely random?
    Sometimes i get what i want doing the random convert like 5-10x, but then other times i may convert like 20-30x see the same ones over and over before it gets to something i want.

    Ya i wish flurry did better damage. I use the same rational for midnight grasp! haha. I changed the animation so its just the energy ball instead of the things coming out of the ground.

    Ya i have an attack chain of siphon life, smite,  MG, smite recommended by another forumer as a good attack chain for AV's.

    But i have been thinking of what i can do for a 2nd build with him.

    This build i think will be more fun build over effectiveness with flurry and whirlwind as well.

     

  18. hey guys i currently have a flash themed scrapper that is DM/SR...i picked DM mainly for the shadow maul animation of multiple punches. 

    Id like to try another flash themed build but cant decide on what combo....i love SR and believe its the easiest to softcap defense. With it being flash themed i love defense soft cap idea of seeing miss miss miss miss...I do also like the synergy of siphon life as a quick self heal.  What would u suggest as good combos for another flash character that could softcap defense easily... In mids i messed with kinetic melee/regen with meleed def at like 37% and range at 33%...

  19. When people roleplay on coh is it during gameplay? Or is it more like hanging out in pocket d and just roleplaying through the chat but not doing game content? Id like to do roleplaying as we go through content but dont know if thats what roleplaying is or isnt.
