    It's a really fun one! I've been focusing on other toons and need to dust this guy off. You can swap Fire Blast for Ring of Fire to be more exemplar friendly. My build currently has Ring of Fire and not Fire Blast, but I am fixing to respec into it soon as I want damage that is more upfront and also think it's a bit flashier than Ring of Fire. Both are entirely viable and Ring of Fire does slightly more DPS I believe. It requires a lot of attention to play this build to the best of it's ability. Fade recharges so quickly that it can be annoying to have to reset it. I try to buff the teammates with it as much as possible but frankly, if I am alive and doing my job, my teammates don't even need it. Tar Patch and Bonfire alone completely neuter mobs, any other CC after that only makes that combo even greater. I haven't done all of the content on this Controller but at 50+ I haven't come to fear anything. I'll rush into mobs without a second thought and can only remember a few times where it didn't work out for me.

    Switch the slotting on Tough and Fire Shield. Due to limitations in Pines Hero Builder, I had to slot the Hami-Os in Fire Shield because it abides by level up slotting. When you respec you are allowed to put your slots into any power freely, regardless of when they were granted. Doing this brings the enh value from 59% to 69%, it's not much, but it's a buff nonetheless. Also could take the toxic damage proc out of Fire Blast and instead slot the chance for Absorb proc in health. 

  2. I'm posting this here because I have yet to get a Dominator to 50 on live or Homecoming and I want to change that. As the title states, I'm on a mission to get all ATs to level 50 with a full IO and Incarnate build. Influence is not an issue, I don't make merely any builds, I go for MAX POWAH!! I was wondering what some of your favorite Dom builds were/builds in general.

    Currently have a Blaster, Controller, Defender, Scrapper, Stalker, Brute, Corruptor and Warshade at level 50 and fully kitted out. Has anyone else done this? Was thinking of making a thread where we showcased our favorite builds across all ATs.

    Pure offense works on MOST content. But when the feces hits the fan in the end game content it will make a huge difference slotting for defense. 

     

    We were on an incarnate mission in DA to destroy MOT at +4/+8 one time and we had some guys that only just hit incarnate level. After a good 15mins of battle I was the only one who had not died at least once. Everyone else had been to the hospital and back at least twice. 

     

    I would suggest to the OP when you finally get all the cash saved up to build it out and respec one way or the other. If you are on Excelsior I'd be happy to take you on a few missions to see the power of a fully operational death star 😉

    That would be a blast, I could grab my Fire/Dark Controller too and showcase that combo as well. I think Dark Affinity is one of the best options for Controllers, I have a build for every primary to match with it! I love it that much XD

  4. This is my personal favorite Scrapper. You mentioned AoE… But also mentioned not hitting things like wet noodles. Dark/Shield/Blaze is a top tier "do it all" Scrapper. Soul Drain + Against All Odds + Shield Charge + Fire Ball is pretty substantial AoE and once you do your AoE chain you can mow down everything else with single target. melee. This is my personal build!

  5. Both are pretty viable. in regards to offense/defense. I've just always leaned towards offense since most teams will steamroll content. It's not often on my Dark Affinity Trollers that the team requires further support. Put a Kinetics on the team and you are getting everything you want from just those two support sets. My opinion anyways. I often found myself in animation locks while the team moved on so I started building for pure damage and spam control. One thing I might add is trying to find a way to slot some resistance in Fade and prioritizing Regen in Soul Absorption. Even with no end mod enhancers, 2-3 stacks will give you more than enough end recovery, but your regen will be lacking. 

  6. This is the build I use, I normally build my /Dark Affinity Controllers with an offensive approach, so I skipped some powers others might take. Hasten, Soul Absorption, Haunt and Fade are all perma. Soft-cap defense to all.. The Intuition Alpha boosts everything in this set, except for defense debuff because we don't have any. Does pretty respectable damage and like everyone says, you can laugh at everything in your way. I prefer playing my Fire/Dark Controller but this one is a blast!

  7. Here is the final build I ended up with. Not a lot of changes but enough to make a noticeable difference. Been having a lot of fun with it. Run +4 ITFs and +4 Miss Liberty TFs quite frequently on Excelsior and I can freely jump into any mob with little consequences. Overall, one of my favorite characters and glad I made the leap! Now on to my proposed PB build after I make some other non-Kheld and kit them out as well. Thanks for the advice! Cheers!

    I actually think for this particular build I should have done that. I haven't made this character since Homecoming, but did have it on live. I just really liked the idea of running Shadow Meld alongside Icy Bastion. But Blaze mastery fits thematically as well and is definitely the superior option for an all around build.

     

  9. Check this one out! This build gives you 3 "Oh SH*T" click powers in Shadow Meld, Unleash Potential and Moment of Glory, and between the three of them they almost have 100% uptime! Fun as all heck and this is hands down the tankiest regen scrapper I have ever played. I Think your friend would love it!

  10. Hey there! I wanted to share your same build but with some tweaks I think you'll like! I'll be going down the list explaining what I changed in your original build and why. As always, your build wasn't wrong! But there were some things in there that could be improved and that's what we will be going over.

    First, I wanted to get you to soft-cap defense to Smash/Lethal damage, you were at 35% which is respectable, but 45% is your goal (45% means even level enemies will have a 5% chance to hit you for the most part) and it wasn't too hard to do it! You put resistance IOs in Frozen Armor instead of defense, I would never recommend that on any build.

    I changed some slotting around on various powers as well. I put the Controller ATO in Block of Ice for max hold duration but also a good increase in damage with the chance for Psi damage proc and chance for smashing damage proc. I pulled all slots from Infrigidate, while not a 'bad' power, I wouldn't consider it a power to put more than 1 slot in, so I threw an acc IO in there and called it a day to use slots elsewhere. Frostbite can be spammed so quickly that mobs will almost always be immobilized despite not enhancing it, normally throw Posi's Blast in these powers, but your Epic Power Pool didn't have a targeted AoE set to throw Ragnarok in so I put that in instead. I would recommend slotting your AoE immobs like this every time as the boost in damage is very noticeable and appreciated, but it's just a personal preference. Changed the set you used in your Cold Dom shields to give some Smash/Lethal resist and more HP than LoTG set. Also pulled a slot from Hasten as it's only 3 seconds from being perma with 2 slots before incarnates and perma after incarnates. Pulled a slot from Combat Jumping, found other ways to get your KB/KD protection. Tough is essentially the same except I found a power more suited for the +def IO. I did not take Flash Freeze, I rarely take sleep powers as I'm always teaming and most of my builds do not need to approach the game in a cautious manner. If you REALLY want it, I would get rid of Assault and keep it to 1 slot for the times it might be useful. Not much to say about Arctic Fog, just changed the slotting and put some of the IOs you had elsewhere, here. I rarely slot Arctic Fog different than this since most builds follow a similar pattern, you could slot it for resistance but it would be a matter of 2% more res when those slots might have a HUGE impact somewhere else. Weave is also more or less the same, if you are putting an LoTG 7.5% recharge into any defense power that you will actually slot, I would almost 100% of the time just slot it with only LoTGs, saves you a slot that way. Added the chance for +2 mag on Glacier, kept the same set but did not use the smashing dmg proc, if you are dead set on keeping it in there you could put a different damage proc in Block of Ice and replace the Hold duration IO for the dmg proc. Benumb... You have it severely under slotted, always put a minimum of 1 Acc IO and 2 Recharge IOs, always. I add 2 acc IOs to ensure it makes its mark. This is the AV killer when you combine the rest of your debuffs, and as such you want it as close to a 30 second recharge as possible to maintain 100% uptime. Took one slot away from Superspeed and just threw the BotZ KB protection in there to yet again save a slot. Jack Frost, put Expedient Reinforcement for more recharge bonuses, if you want to put Soulbound in there just pick from some of the procs in this build that are not a part of a set bonus, IE, anything except the Controller ATO proc and add the slot to Jack Frost, both options would be great for this build. The way Sleet is slotted here is the most optimal slotting, period. This is one of the ways I have something slotted where I would highly suggest not slotting it differently. Achilles Heel proc and Annihilation proc are wonderful in this power, the two Lady Grey IOs further the defense debuff, give you plenty of recharge and also a +HP set bonus. Heat Loss is another power you had slotted poorly, if 6 slotting, put Efficacy in there and call it good, if 5 slotting use the same sets you used (Performance Shifter and Efficacy) but choose different ones. I would go End/Recharge, End/Acc/Recharge and Acc/Recharge for the Performance shifter IOs and then End/Recharge, End/Acc/Recharge on Efficacy. You want to prioritize Recharge, Acc, and End mod for this power. Added an extra proc in Ice Blast for more damage, changed the slotting in Frozen Armor like I explained above and then procced out and 6 slotted Ice Storm. 

    Give this a try if you can! I promise you that you will see a HUGE improvement in toughness, damage and utility.

  11. This is my Fire/Dark Controller. Fade, Hasten and Soul Absorption are all perma before any incarnates (None of my incarnates provide recharge anyhow) Fade powered by Clarion gives you an average of around 47% defense to all and max Smash/Lethal resist. Out of all my builds this one has impressed me the most, the utility you can bring to teams is top tier. I've had the most success on teams running ahead of everyone and CCing the mob and getting Tar Patch + Bonfire down on all mobs before the team engages, then using Soul Absorption to buff everyone's regen/recovery. Then rush ahead and repeat. I have zero end issues with Soul Absorption having a 100% uptime, I still feel Cardiac is essential though as sometimes you will not be surrounded by mobs. Anyways, check it out! Ran a 31 minute Master of Statesman's (Liberty) TF at +4 with this toon. Face rolled anything and everything in our way.

If so, that power isn't a proc, it is a Unique IO that gives the associated ability a KD component, and if the ability already has KB, it converts it to KD. It's a little different in application from a standard enhancement.

     

    Irradiated Ground is also different from your normal damage auras. This ability isn't a true toggle because what actually happens is your "toggle" power is calling for a pseudo-pet to get dropped at your location once every 4/s (could be 5/s, can't recall atm). That pet then stays behind if you move until you call for the next trigger to drop a new pet. Because of this effect, IG is triggering a proc-call at its "start" of the patch every time a new patch gets dropped, so it does break the traditional concept of a toggle aura's standard 10/s trigger event.

     

    Now, the interaction with KD, the patch pulses a couple times during its time frame, and the Overwhelming Unique would apply at damage-dealt, so it'd make sense for you to see it be a bit spastic. Even if it only triggered once at patch-placement, that's still a KD effect happening relatively quickly on itself, so it'd still feel like a lot of flopping around.

    I figured it was a pseudo-pet effect. I have the Superior Avalanche chance for KD IO slotted in it. When the patch drops almost 100% of the time everything flops as if it were a Bonfire or an Ice Patch.

  13. Fourth is Dark/Radiation, this set is hilarious and so fun to play. Radiation is great because it has two things.. One is a +recharge taunt toggle that offers some nice utility in -to-hit debuffs and -defense debuffs to all enemies surrounding you, you get a stacking +recharge buff for every enemy near you which helps keep Soul Drain up constantly. You also get a PBAoE attack in Ground Zero that does respectable damage and recharges at a moderate rate. Picked up Shadow Meld and Unleash Potential again here, and along with Meltdown you have moments where you will have MASSIVE defense to all and are at the resistance cap for all damage except Cold and Psionic. I love stacking those two buffs, and with the debuff resistance you get from Ageless, you rarely die. 

    Fun fact about this build.. When affected by your maximum +recharge potential in this build, you can have so much recharge that your powers will actually reach their limit on being affected by more recharge.. This is only for a short duration but still pretty frikkin awesome. This makes Soul Drain permanent by a large margin and leaves only a 3 second downtime from entering Shadow Meld.

  14. Third is Dark/Ice. AoE isn't nearly as good in this build but you give up a bit of damage there for a bit more utility and tankiness. Icicles help make you feel better about yourself as your cycling away your single target melee attacks. Dipped into Leadership to help ALMOST have soft-cap defense to S/L/E/N and having Tactics is always nice, especially when your +dmg power requires a to-hit check on critters to work and also has the potential to proc for even more damage and acc with Guassians.

  15. Second is Dark/Fire. Blazing Aura and Burn are incredible when backed by a full Soul Drain and Fiery Embrace and patch up your lack of AoE (Common theme in almost all of these builds) The only gripe I have with Dark Melee IS its lack of AoE and it's still one of the most viable sets with that drawback. I threw in Unleash Potential and Shadow Meld from your patron power pool to maximize toughness. Shadow meld soft caps you to all damage types and positions in the ENTIRE game and only has an 8 second downtime. I would recommend this and the Dark/Shield/Pyre build I shared for anyone who has been staying away from Dark Melee because of it's lack of AoE, these combos patch it up entirely.

  16. I'm late to the party but here are some builds with Dark Melee on sets I think are a great synergy!

    First is Dark/Shield, my personal favorite. Not a lot of content that I cannot solo and I don't remember the last time I died! Shield does a great job at patching up Darks lack of AoE with a +dmg taunt aura that compliments Soul Drain perfectly and a burst damage PBAoE in Shield Charge. I also went Pyre master and have Fireball to even further my AoE potential and I never think to myself at 50 that I am lacking in AoE. This build has soft-cap defenses to all positions and perma-hasten before incarnates, has a self heal in Siphon Life too which is perfect for a set like Shield.

    I tested it out, when I put it in Dark Nova I can control the proc in a sense. If you toggle Dark Nova on and off you have a chance to proc every time. I was consistently double stacking the proc this way. Interesting.

    Just to note; in your attached build it it shows you've taken project will and wall of force instead of mighty leap and unleash potential. I assume that was a mistake give your the description above?

    Unleash can be quite good on Khelds due to our most builds being relatively high recharge in nature and our easy of slotting FFB procs to further boost our global recharge. My recommended slotting for unleash would be:
    Luck of the Gambler: Defense/7.5% global recharge, Defense/Rch +5.
    Any other defense set: Defense/Rch +5 
    Generic rch io+5.
    That should get def/rch into yellow ED cap territory (Red for recharge since you're running spiritual)
    If you want more regen/recovery you can use the last 2 slots for that. I find sustain is fine on a Warshade so I don't see as much value in boosting it as the base regen and recovery in the power is already plenty.

    Gaussian's chance for build up would make more sense for a Tri-form slotted into dark nova as you have to have tactics toggled to see benefit from it and on a tri-form you're seldom going to use it. I would swap your tactics and dark nova slotting. The Build-up proc will have a chance to fire everytime you swap to Dark Nova just fyi.

    Annihilation -res proc in Nova Det has quite a lot chance to proc at that level of recharge. Basically it'll trigger against 1 in every 5 enemies. You could save a slot by taking the 2 pcs Annihilation out for overwhelming force dmg/KD and put Sudden Acceleration KB->KD in Quasar instead.



     

    Thanks for the heads up on the chance for build up proc, I could have sworn I saw people say it’s a global proc and will work in Tactics regardless of it being toggled. I thought it was that way too but had not tested it. I’ll look into maybe messing with swapping IOs around in Detonation although I am pretty dead set on keeping the Dmg/KB to KD IO in Quasar to reach damage enh cap without having to +5 any of the IOs slotted in it. I definitely did not take Project Will or Wall of Force, there must be an error in the data chunk because it’s showing up for me in the actual post itself, but I have not clicked my own link to confirm this. 
     

    I’ve since made some tweaks to the build. Put some more KB protection in the various teleports and changed my intitial slotting in Unleash, right now it’s a LoTG 7.5, 2 Membrane HOs and Numina’s Heal, Numina’s Heal/Rchg both +5. This gives it max defense enh, max recharge and almost 90% enh to heal outside of Spiritual Alpha.

I've made a lot of builds over the years, I used to hop on Mids every now and then when CoH shut down on live and making builds on Mids was my way of "playing the game." I never built or played a Warshade on live and in all those builds I made over the years!

    Thanks for giving me some inspiration to start from, I've been loving my Warshade so far and wanted to share the build I want to be my final. It looks like it might be pretty good!

    -30% defense to Smash/Lethal (I sacrificed a bit of defense here for a more offensive approach)

    -175% Recharge rate 70% Hasten/105% Global

    -27.5% Global Dmg bonus

    -Perma Eclipse

    -Force of Will pool powers... I'm really excited to test using this power pool on a Warshade, I think this is potentially a great buff and perfect for a Tri-Form Warshade! It's a 1 minute buff to Regen/End Recovery/Defense AND Recharge.. All of which compliment everything about this build. On a high recharge build you have a decent up time to down time ratio!

    -You have literally every travel option! Superspeed, Super Jump, Fly, Teleport... It's so fun to be able to choose exactly how you want to move throughout the game and I've never had more fun getting to and from places..

     

    Anyways, thanks again for helping me make heads and tails on making a Warshade! This is the most thought I've had to put into building anything and I loved it.

    Mostly there as a mule for the +Global Crit chance. I use it sometimes, whenever the perfect situation arises, or if I'm exemplared. Other than that it's purely for the set that is in it. I've made and remade this build a lot and this seems to be the most optimal for what I wanted. My only pre-reqs were Soft capped defense to all positions and perma hasten. So anything outside of that wasn't really a goal for me.

  21. This is my all time favorite scrapper build and I wanted to share mine!

     

    This build has soft-cap defense to all positions BEFORE Incarnates, perma-hasten with only one application of Force Feedback +recharge, Soul Drain is more or less perma with a few applications of Force Feedback. AoE is actually pretty respectable with Fireball, Shield Charge and Pyro/Void Judgement. Having a fully slotted Char comes in handy more often than I ever thought it would (LGTF anyone?) but also was a great place to get some amazing defense bonuses.
