  1. Laptop or very tiny computer

    Found this one

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0CQRSYJR5

But being portable is most important which means the laptop type

Using integrated graphics would make the search much easier

Has anyone run this under integrated graphics with decent settings?  Which processor?

The ryzen 4500u can handle this game well on its integrated chip but would like something much less expensive

Hear me out: If you turn that black hole power into a vacuum like axe cyclone instead of a clone of the worst intangible power in the game: this pool will be really fun.

Good proof of concept for dark miasma, if it works well enough.

DO THIS PLEASE IT WOULD BE INCREDIBLE

    Very thematic as well

Have wanted to take the power because of theme but it is just not useful and will probably make teams hate you

  3. Something that should be said for sleet

The sleet nerf effectively reduces the offensive output of an entire team with a cold using corruptor controller or mastermind by 6%

That may sound like a small nerf but that is around the difference between running assault and not running assault, probably even bigger in most circumstances since assault is diluted for any team using buffs to attack

This is before defense is counted which nerfs it further

    Please simply buff defenders instead

A similar thing was done to tar patch by the way

I main dark which feels more sluggish since the change and dark is now among the very few builds that is less effective compared with the paragon studios era...not counting rising tide stuff like easier incarnate builds

So let me explain the reasoning behind this free bonus:
In most MMOs on the market, they function with the holy trinity of Tank / DPS / Healer. However, City of Heroes does not function this way, and rather has a more diverse set of roles that players take while playing on a team together.

This new bonus is to help guide players who are unfamiliar with City of Heroes to the basic fundamentals of team building and archetype roles, and then giving a small reward to teams that are inclusive and bring every type of player role. Perhaps the name of the reward should be changed to 'Role Inclusivity Bonus'?

From experience, chasing rewards can oftentimes work better than tutorials for guiding players to more natural success in their gameplay, so that's why this was decided.

Lastly, it puts a little more Prismatic Aether into everyone's pocket for minimal effort, which helps new players by virtue of being able to convert it to influence on the AH which also stimulates the player economy and also teaches new players to utilize the AH while working on their characters.
For a new player, a single Prismatic Aether could potentially fund their entire build on SO enhancements; Extremely valuable for somebody just starting out.

    FAQ:

    • The roles were chosen so that the full classic team of all five Hero or Villain archetypes would complete the free bonus; This is reflected in the challenge icon.
    • One role per AT for simplicity & fairness; There are too many ATs that would count for more and others that would count for less.
    • Epic ATs count for three roles because their inherent powers all deal with teams, so this makes them extremely appealing for team invites and is in-line with their design goal.
    • Corruptors are listed as Damage because their Inherent power, Scourge, only deals with doing more damage, not support.
    • This free bonus was not in any way an attempt to sway or influence Advanced Mode team compositions; This free bonus reward is far too low to have any kind of impact on regular runners of that content.
    • This free bonus is not an attempt to disrupt the City of Heroes element of 'any team can work', because while that's always been true...
'any team can work well' has never been a guarantee and there have been plenty of teams I've joined that have been rough experiences because the composition just wasn't considered while forming the team. While lopsided teams can always work, they shouldn't be considered the ideal or baseline experience to strive for giving our new players.

Now that I read the purpose behind this it actually seems counterproductive

Newbies probably will not recognize the value of the prismatic before the point they understand how archetypes work

Archetypes get explained right there on the character creation screen and explained fairly well

The archetype screen ALSO tells the newbie that archetypes fill multiple roles

This actually seems contradictory with the archetype screen and may create confusion instead

Never mind that a newbie probably does not already understand the market and current prices of loot

The prismatic stuff is pretty secondary cosmetic veteran stuff too

Most of the prismatic store is costumes of lore that will be totally pointless for them

  5. Sleet

    Controller/Corruptor: -Res lowered from -30% to -22.5%

    Freezing Rain

Defender: -Res increased from -35% to -40%

I am sure the obvious answer for the different approah is 'because Storm needs help while Cold does not'

Still it would be great to get the confirmation that these different methods of making them AT specific indeed have that reason

Also Tar Patch received similar AT nerfing before [instead of simply buffing defender values]

Was Dark considered too strong then or was buffing defenders just not brought up for a potential solution?

  6. I need a temporary computer which will probably avoid major graphics needs but should handle this

    What will I need

Using the different benchmarks from the versus.com comparison tool what should the GPU and CPU numbers follow

Will probably be buying comuter used

The trick to best using cascading Popmenu entries is to invoke the Popmenu by keypress while hovering the mouse pointer to the upper left of your screen.  That way there's plenty of screen space to see all the menus.

Default keybinds ALT+1 to ALT+0 invoke the powers/macros in Tray 2, while CTRL+1 to CTRL+0 invoke those in Tray 3.

Here I put the stock Fast Travel in Tray 3 Slot 5.    So while the mouse was just about where the upper-left corner of the Fast Travel Menu is, I pressed CTRL+5.

I normally use my stock Powers Popmenu, which in my standard keybinds I invoke with P:

    Locked destinations are now listed

    • This makes it easier to see where you can and cannot go, and also keeps every destination in a consistent location regardless of how many you've unlocked

This is redundant with the menu listing and adds clutter and annoyance if one would prefer to have limited size of popup by simply not obtaining badges in some zones.

Many of the zones are only of interest for extreme completionists, and even then on only a minority of characters.

I certainly don't want, for example, Boomtown listed on most characters.

The popmenu accomplishes everything while out of the way.
