  1. Hey all, I'm new/returning (never got as far into the game as I'd like, and am finally coming back), and trying to play a few characters (altitis hits me hard). One of them is a Street Justice/Willpower Scrapper, and I was looking into what people recommended for a build.

     

    Actually, what kind of build goals do people even have for Scrappers? I know Tankers and Brutes wanna cap Defenses and Resistances, and those are what I've mostly played. I'm not really sure what to shoot for when it comes to a damage dealer Class? Obviously I want to deal high amounts of damage, but I don't even know what to look for or what it would look like.

     

    if someone could share a Mids build, that'd be awesome, or even just general advice, that'd be really great.

  3. Would it be possible to add an option for a shark head to the different types of animal/beast heads we can choose from? If I were going to really play an animal type super, it'd probably be shark related. Since Captain Mako is in the game, I know it's lore friendly, and at least one version of the asset exists.

  4. I'm wanting to make a SS/Inv Tanker for my next character. The problem I'm running into is I keep making basically the same guy. And he looks very normal (not that that's a bad thing).

     

    So I'm asking for help deciding on a concept and costume. Which Origin should I pick, and what should he look like?

  5. The debate is settled. Spines/Fire is the best for farming because you're easily capped against fire, and do lots of AoE damage.

     

    That being said, if you really want to just farm, go with /Fire. If you think you might want to do other things with the character eventually, then go with /Bio. TW/Bio is really strong, because both sets over preform, but they don't make a good farmer together without (almost) as much work as it would take any other AT/Powerset combo.

    What would you suggest switching them for? When I was choosing powers, it seemed like I had too many powers to pick from, and so I just took some so I'm wide open to suggestions. My thinking was Grant Cover and Maneuvers would be good to have for team buffs. I'm not really trying to off-tank with this character, more like just play with a team, and maybe solo some GM's some day.

  7. So, I started playing a BS/SD Scrapper, and he's pretty fun. I'm working on his final build now, but I've only mostly done Tankers and Brutes. Not really sure how to build for Scrappers, so I put something together and came here seeking advice. I think that there's a lot of places where I'll be able to put Achilles's Heels, but I didn't do that with this version because I'm not sure where/how many I should include. It seems like almost every attack from Broadsword could take one.

  8. So, I've finally found some relief from my altitis, and I got my Willpower/Titan Weapons Tanker up to 50! Now I'm trying to figure out what to put in my Alpha slot. Because I'm running Titan Weapons, I was initially thinking I'd need to take Agility, but I'm not really having problems with my Endurance. Sure, I need to pop a few more Blues than I do on other characters, but in groups I never seem to need to stop.
    So, I was thinking Musculature to really flex Titan Weapons. But I don't know if my Defense/Resists are going to be high enough.
     
    -Defenses are as follows-
    Smashing, Lethal: 43.7%
    Energy, Negative: 44.3%
    Psionic: 36.7% (Lowest)
    Fire Cold: 51.8%
    Melee: 42.6%
    Ranged: 22.6%

    I'm nearly softcapped on S/L Defense and Resist, but I don't really have a point fo reference for what's "good enough," Is Musculatre going to be OK? I'm going to be taking the Diamagnetic Interface because I want to attempt to solo +4x8 AV's and Giant Monsters (unless there's a better setup for WP/TW Tanker). Also, a few Lore suggestions would be great!

    We've already got them, they're just under the Aura costume options. I'd like to see them either added or moved to the Head slot Details 1 & 2. That way we'd be able to give our angel's ('cause only an angel has a halo. Yep, totally not going to make any other type of supernatural character that has a halo; no demons here) an aura in addition to the halo.

  11. So, I've got a Willpower/Titan Weapons Tanker that I'm really enjoying right now. I've been playing around with different build ideas, and recently updated Mids to include the new Enhancements. I'm wondering if it would be a good idea to slot in Power Transfer's Endurance Mod and Chance to Heal in Stamina and everywhere else I've got Performance Shifters.

     

    Seems like I'd have even better self healing, but I'm not sure how badly that'll change my Endurance recovery. Titan Weapons is a THIRSTY set.

     

    Has anyone tried it? Done the math? Have any insight? I appreciate any information. Thanks in advance!

  12. A couple others have suggested Titan Weapons, and I'd like to do so as well. The drawback I've come across in TW is Endurance, and Bio has an "Efficient" mode, so you can keep swinging away. If you're not really interested in dealing damage, but you need some toughness,  you can go into Defensive mode. If you are solo, and need the extra damage (but you won't because TW does TONS of damage) there's a mode for that too. You might not even notice the lost protection from "offense" mode because there's enough attacks in TW that knockdown enemies that they won't have many opportunities to hurt you.

     

    Also, with the increased target cap Tankers got, your AoE's will generate aggro on even more targets. Combined with Bio's taunt Aura, you've got a great bag of tools, not just tricks.

  15. Is it possible to get beefy enough to take Alpha Strikes? Are there any powers I should skip out of Willpower? I know on Brutes, the self res and the T9 are skippable, was wondering if the same is true for Tankers.

     

    What Enhancement Sets do you recommend, and where should they go? I'd like to get strong enough to tank for teams doing 50+ content. Heck, I'd like to get to level cap so I can understand what endgame content even is in CoH.

     

    Anything you'd like to say about Willpower, please do. I don't think I know enough to ask the questions I need to ask, but I learn quickly.

  16. Hello all, I've got serious altitis, but my newest character will hopefully fix that. I've started a WP/TW Tanker, and he's super fun to play. I was wanting to try out Titan Weapons, but couldn't pick an armor set to go with it, and couldn't decide between Brute, Scrapper, and Tanker. I heard that Tankers get a Defense (or Resist?) debuff added to their T1 attack, and that decided me on AT. Unfortunately, Tankers don't have access to Energy Armor, so I was stuck trying to decide what to use for a Primary. Ended up going with Willpower because I heard TW was an Endurance hog, and WP has good recovery.

     

    I just learned that Willpower recently got a (significant) buff to its Taunt Aura, and it's now in line with other similar abilities. Are there any other shortcomings that Willpower has? What about Titan Weapons?

     

    Also, I've only really started playing recently, and my knowledge is very spotty. So is there any build advice for these two Power Sets? Any abilities that I can/should skip? Also what Power Pools should I go with? Just Tough/Weave/Combat Jumping?

  17. I've been tinkering with Mid's for a while now; trying to get a good build going. I grabbed some that were posted before, and modified them a little. Tried to stay Def/Res capped for S/L, but mostly built for damage. I know that Invulnerability has a gap in its protection where Psionic Damage gets in, so I tried to get a little protection from that from Set Bonuses. I also learned a few things (that might be wrong) about making builds, like it's OK to use Enhancements that are only level 30 (Steadfast Protection), and sometimes it's better to double up on early set bonuses instead of getting the full 6 part set bonus once only. Also, I'm thinking it's much easier to click the Enhancements you want in Mid's than it is to actually get them in the game; how much of a grind am I looking at?

     

    With this build, it seems like my single target rotation would be KOB, HayM, HayM, KOB. The damage calculator says that at 0 Fury, I'll be doing 187 DPS with a chance for Lethal on every attack. I could switch up how Haymaker and Punch are slotted, and bring it up to 197 DPS, but only has a chance for lethal on Knockout Blow, instead of both attacks.

     

    I'd like this character to be my main, and I want to do endgame content with him, probably as an off-tank, possibly as the main tank, but I wonder at how good this would be as a primary damage dealer (what I'm really going for). Hopefully I didn't mess up somewhere by dropping the non S/L Defenses or Resistances too low.

     

    I'd appreciate any critiques for this build, and any suggestions for improving it. Thanks in advance!

  18. So, I'm new to the game, and I've got a few (hundred, altitis hits me hard) characters that I'm playing. I'm wondering if there's a storyline guide or something like that. Like, is there a list of quests that take you through the game, or is it just little quest lines that end up with meeting a new contact?

     

    Also, I know DfB is the earliest TF, but is there a quest for it? Positron 1&2 are next, right? Is there a list somewhere for a 1-50 Hero side questline? What about Villains?

     

    If there aren't quest lines that go from 1-50, then what are the good ones I shouldn't miss out on? Thanks in advance!
