  1. Here's an interesting bug that I have encountered twice: when two Hercules Titans are about to merge, if you defeat one at just the right moment, the remaining Titan becomes invisible and untargetable. It continues to attack and can only be defeated by AOEs.

Not a major bug, since it is probably pretty rare, but one worth reporting, I think.

  2. So, I can't remember which issue added the feature where the last objective in a mission would be highlighted on the map, but it's been a part of the game for a long time. Is there any way this can be added to outdoor (mission) maps?

I had a 90-minute rescue mission in Janessy Heights that took me 15 minutes to find all but the last hostage. That was followed by 75 minutes of running up and down every street and circling every building multiple times while frantically spamming Tab. As far as I could tell, the map was empty. There was no sign of the final hostage or any remaining enemies.

I even started looking on top of every building even though I have never once found a hostage there.

75 minutes of TabTabTabTabTabTab is not terribly fun.

Same, I've been playing the game forever. And I've witnessed it frequently. It doesn't happen for every ranged power in the game, but it does happen for a lot of them, and it always has.

Oh, I'm not saying I don't believe you. I just find it... challenging... to think I could go 20 years without noticing.

This has existed since the game launched.

I played (often daily) from launch to sundown and again since the game returned and the first time I noticed it was about 2 weeks ago, so having you say that seems really odd to me...

  5. There seems to be a growing number of bugs (or at least strange occurrences)  lately. Here's what I am seeing, in case no one else is reporting them:

    1. When running backward, the character doesn't actually run, they just shake like they're having a seizure.

    2. When close to enemies that are shooting at me, the blast (often energy blasts) come from above or the side, instead of from the enemy

    3. Stone Spears in the Earth Assault powerset triggers the attack animation twice each time it's used.

    4. Cryo Freeze Ray (Arsenal Control) typically encases the foe in ice before I fire.

There are more, but these are the ones I notice most.

    Sutter is some crazy stuff.

First you clean the ships.  This is an inside 9with bombs and sabatuers) and outside (with giant robots and sky raiders)

Then there are a bunch of glowies away from the ship battles.  Should be on map

Then you go inside a ship.  It gets ugly there.  can get real ugly.  There is an AV in the back room.

after that fight you go talk to contact 9still in mission but outside last AV fight ship/room)

that is just the first mission.  Is it the glowies after the ships you cannot find?

Thanks for responding. Yes, it was the glowies to shut off the fuel. I finally found them but it took 3 days (game time) to do so.

  7. Just a quick question:

I am finally doing Admiral Sutter for the first time. The first mission mentions (optionally) shutting down 8 fuel lines.

I would like to do it, but I can't find them. I have flown all over, spamming tab and clicking on every door to every boat to no avail.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Time is very versatile and will go with any set on any AT that takes it.  Just pick what appeals to you and play!  🙂

That's my issue though... I generally play based on concept and don't really look at optimization, but I need various elements (costume, bio, fun factor) to come together for me to stick with a character. I haven't found what feels fun (for me) with Time yet.

  9. I'm curious to know what other people find enjoyable with Time on a Controller. I have tried a few combos and none of them really felt right to me.

I'm also curious about how to make the best use of it. I often hear people say that Time is a great set, but I find it rather average. I admit that my perceptions may be off a bit, but it sure feels like Ice does a better job of slowing enemies than Time does, which seems rather counter-intuitive.

So, what do you enjoy using with Time?

If you use multiple accounts, the game has no idea or connection between different client logins.

That makes sense, but it's unfortunately not the case. I only have one account. In fact, the character I was trying to invite was on the same page (same group of 10) as the character I was using to do the inviting. I tried multiple times and couldn't figure it out. I even went to character selection and checked the spelling. I even copy/ pasted the name. Still wouldn't accept him.

  11. I'm finally getting around to adding all my characters to my supergroup, but I have encountered an odd issue where certain characters cannot be added and I get the message "(Character) is not on your account, cheater!" Weird, because they very definitely ARE.

Anyone else encounter this or know how to fix it?

  12. I personally didn't find it too long. I do think that it could be handled a little differently, however. Instead of playing through the whole thing as "someone else's character," which seems to upset some (but didn't bother me), the story could be a short arc with the character performing an investigation. They'd play as their own character through the mission, and at the end of each mission, get a brief snippet of Piecemeal's story, playing her for only a minute or two each time.

Doing that would let players keep coming back to their own character for most of the action, while still getting to see the behind-the-scenes stuff.

  13. I voted 1-10 million, but it was unclear if this is per character or in total.

I have 50 characters, so if it's in total, then 50 to 500 million.

The most I have ever had on hand on a single character was about 30 million, even playing daily from launch to sundown, and again since the game returned.

I have no idea how people get so much influence.

  14. I have never really been one to chase numbers and have instead played according to what feels fun, but I am trying to decide between a Blaster and Corrupter for a character concept I have.

I don't usually do this, but today I was looking (in character creation) at damage values. I was using Electrical Blast. Now, I have always believed that Blasters do more damage, but looking at Electrical Blast, it gave higher "Average Damage" on each power to the Corrupter but lower damage in the details that followed.

    Example:

Blaster Charged Bolts. Avg Damage: 12.30/ 8.20 energy damage on target

Corrupter Charged Bolts. Avg Damage: 20.90/ 1.90 energy damage on target.

So, does the higher Average Damage (if the values are even correct) reflect Scourge? Or is it something else, perhaps an error?

  15. I haven't played my gravity controller for some time, but having used him recently, I notice that Singularity seems to have changed. Rather than repelling enemies (great for keeping me safe when solo), it pulls everyone closer (great for killing me when solo).

I'm guessing that the rationale for this was to make it more team-friendly, but it's less helpful to me now as a solo player. I'm wondering if there are any plans to continue adjusting it. Maybe something could have been done using Knockback to Knockdown, rather than (seemingly) eliminating the Repel?

Suppressive Fire is situational for me but is really useful when you have another hold in your secondary or epic pool to stack with it.  But sometimes, I outright skip it, depending on the build.

I've come to realize it's a fairly decent hold (with Cryo) if you get it to recharge fast enough and you're focusing on one target.

  17. I am taking another shot at playing a DP blaster. Overall, I think the set feels pretty average,  but I am sticking with it for the character's concept.

I am curious to know if anyone uses anything other than the Incendiary ammo. I guess the Chemical and Cryo would be useful against those with specific weaknesses, but the secondary effects seem rather uneven. Incendiary gives DoT, which is always useful, even if it's a small amount, but the slow and damage debuff effects from Cryo and Chemical seem pretty negligible. I can't honestly say that I notice them doing anything. And the Suppressive Fire secondary effect of Disorient/ Hold in underwhelming, lasting only 2 seconds, making it about as useful as the Fatigue effect in the fighting pool.

Do these effects actually improve and become worthwhile with s;lotting or higher levels? Or do you just focus on the damage?

Levitate does around 1/3rd more damage than Mesmerize. I'm not sure where you got the idea that they're the same damage?

I didn't say they are the same damage. I said Mesmerize does more damage.

And I got that idea when creating the character, where it reads that Mesmerize does an average of 19.8 and Levitate does an average of 13.07

  19. 12 hours ago, Riot Siren said:

It's only takes 0.2 seconds longer to animate and it more then makes up for that in damage coming out to about 15% more DPS.

They both have 6 second recharge, so I'm not sure where you are getting that from.

I would have sworn that I saw 8 seconds on Levitate. Must be hallucinating.

But for sure, it says Mesmerize does more damage.

  20. I am looking at Mesmerize and Levitate, the first two powers in Mind Control. I am a bit confused at the balancing....

Levitate, the tier 2 power is:

    • Less accurate
    • Slower to cast
    • Longer to recharge
    • Has a shorter range
    • Costs more endurance

This might make sense if it was the more damaging of the 2 powers, but on top of being worse in every way, it also does less damage. It doesn't seem to match other powers. Is this intentional? Does it have advantages that are not immediately apparent?
