  1. "Sweet" (from sweet 17)
  2. 16th anniversary suggestion: "Divergent" -- since HC has been going its own independent way!
  3. Sorry if I don't religiously follow every thread on this forum.
  4. Yeah, and that will not actually get you your character in the same state unless you explicitly and painstakingly manually grant all the badged, progress towards badges, story arc progress, salvage, recipes, etc etc etc. -- everybody knows that just boosting a new character to 50 doesn't get you at the same spot you would be with a proper export/import/transfer. XP and inf is not everything. It also doesn't help anyone who would like to swap from HC to some other shard but isn't admin of it. So multiply that by the number of characters and the number of players who want to swap. Without an export of the characters that is simply in no way feasible.
  5. I asked HC like a month ago when I had my shard set up and production-ready. I never got a reply, and I think that's about what one can expect. It effective player-binding.
  6. You're a fan, I can tell. Regardless, I think you're wrong. Player population of any MMO has always been about momentum (play where my buddies are playing). Homecoming grabbed the momentum (quite forcefully) in the early start, and only let up somewhat after everyone was already playing there. That doesn't mean that other efforts are to be scoffed at just because "the numbers are smaller". I'd say it's too early to tell either way. I think NCSoft had a completely different motive: locking in the value of the game as part of their asset portfolio on paper by vaulting it. If it's about crowdfunding to purchase the game outright from NCSoft, then who will own the rights in the end of the purchase with community funds? Homecoming LLC? What will they do with it in that case? That's a really poor scenario to think about.
  7. The announcement says that the intention is that the entire community will be involved. Does that mean the Homecoming community, or does that mean everyone involved in the CoH revival? The people over at Ouroboros are working hard and are making great strides to clean up and streamline the i24 code, and SCOTS and the city representative site and people running smaller independent servers (some only small because Homecoming absorbed all the players before others had a chance) are all involved in the greater CoH community here. My worry is that NCSoft will strike a deal with Homecoming, and everyone not directly involved with the Score group or the modified game will as a result fall into oblivion or even worse be marked as illegal and prosecuted. (i.e.: lending to a push of Homecoming becoming the only sanctioned shard) While i25 has its merits as an alternative gameplay style I'd rather not see that becoming "what City of Heroes is for the future"; it's fun to play but for different reasons than the original game on live (long-term goal setting, for one). Can y'all please clarify what was meant with "involving the entire community"?
  8. First off, thank you for clearing a few things up, especially about the future directions and what you are planning to make and keep the game more balanced. I do have a different kind of donation in mind than coding expertise, being a GM or throwing money at you, and that is to offer the use of 2 dedicated (bare metal) servers in Europe at no extra cost to the homecoming team or players to run a second EU shard (location Sweden with good cross-atlantic connectivity through Telia). If you are interested in this, then please send me a private message here, or e-mail me, or chat me up on Discord. Why this offer? Simply put: I have the hardware and connectivity. I planned initially to go for i24 which does have its merits but I don't see the volume of users going to need what I got this hardware for. On top, I don't have the free time to manage everything that's needed to run a shard on my own properly (discord/forum, finding and managing GMs for the shard, etc.) since I do have a day job, but want to do my part providing a sustainable future for City of Heroes/Villains. So, the offer is open, get in touch if you're interested :)
  9. Remember it's all case sensitive. Username too.
  10. Big pinnacle player here, redside only. Main character: Thor Lupus -- my first and most badass toon ;) (SS/inv.) Also played: - Drakkolupen - Albedo Darkwolf (together with my buddy Albedo Nightwolf)
  11. No problem. Seeding when I can, too.
  12. The following magnet link should work to grab the client files: magnet:?xt=urn:btih:mbsjbojpynosjgv77hyagybqfucvfzzv&dn=coh
  13. I was on Virtue a lot with my characters Alaskan Brick (Axe wielding tank) and Silver Touch (Elec/empathy healer).
