There are a low amount of primarily natural-themed support sets. This set would be about speech. As opposed to sonic which is themed around the waves and vibrations of sound effecting its results, this would be themed around the actual words used and the energy behind them. Think motivational speaker, drill sergeant, cheerleader, conman, etc. Mixed mez/buff/debuff set. There might be enough mez options for a full control set too, but a pet would be problematic theme-wise unless you were willing to go the mind control route and just do away with it altogether. Any damage would be mostly psionic.
Possible ideas:
Mez:
- Sleep; you can be very boring, your cadence can put your target into a trance, lullabies
- Stun/immobilize; you say something shocking and the target needs time to process
- Fear; you know the kinds of things your target is afraid of
- Confuse; you know how to use lots of words to say nothing at all, "I'm not your enemy, but can we trust that other guy?"
- Placate; you can talk your way out of a fight (could also be used for threat redirection to an allied target, if such a mechanic is available)
Debuffs:
- -ATK/-SPD/-JMP/-RCH/-END; you drain your target's will to fight
- -DEF/-HIT; you distract your target so they can't dodge or aim as effectively
Buffs:
- +ATK/+RES/+SPD/+JMP/+RCH/+END/+RNG/+Absorb; you increase your allies' motivation, make them fight just that little bit harder, second wind
- Mez protection (sleep, stun, fear, confuse, placate, taunt); "Snap out of it!"
- Debuff protection (DEF/HIT); you can keep your allies focused even when the enemy tries to distract them.
Possible mechanical themes:
- Most/all powers are PBAoE and/or cones.
- Powers can be used on either enemies or allies, with appropriate effects (i.e. you can activate your target's fear in such a way that they either fight (ally) or flight (enemy)).
- Powers are more effective (duration, strength, mag) depending on how many of your other powers are already on the same target (would obviously need to be balanced very carefully).
- Powers are more effective the closer the target is to the player (they can hear you better).
