I like to make big maps and what i'd like to see is buildings. I'm not talking about houses like what you can already lay out but i'm talking about 10 stories or more.  I want to make  a city... a big city.  🙂

It's already possible to build vertically. Outside the base. Speak to "KingofMonkeys" (Discord handle). His base on Torchbearer has a multilevel castle that is insanely complex and extremely impressive. He enjoys people checking it out. Entry code: pizza-2544. Don't forget to look for the sleeping dragon in the semi hidden cave. I'm sure KoM could give pointers on how he constructed the castle.

Only, the editor is coded separately and differently than the rest of the game, so that's not as easy as it would seem. The editor, in fact, was coded so poorly that the original dev team threw up their hands and wouldn't touch it. It's notoriously touchy, and very difficult to change one thing without crashing the whole program entirely, as I understand things. So, I guess we can hope, but that's why it's not on the list.

That actually explains a lot. Tyvm.

I did vote. Both polls. 😉

    2.  What is HUGELY needed are pieces that have a bottom or back!  MANY times I find a piece I want to use in an elevated position, but can't because it has no bottom and you can see right through it!  This is SO frustrating and disappointing.

There ~is~ a work around, if you're willing to put in a little extra effort... @Rudra showed me how to 'flip' an item so it appears to have a bottom; CRTL+ALT = Flip. It's time consuming but it works. The picture is a view under a wood floor. It's not a perfect solution but it's doable. That is a second floor in my library that she did for me. She also layered wood cabinets in between to give it mass. She is my guru. :))

  3. Someone's gonna kill me for suggesting this....

    Make everything sizeable.

Just like the costume editor allows for scales, can we have that ability in base editing?

    ~

If any devs/mods are eyeballing this thread? Can we PRETTY PLEASE WITH SUGAR ON TOP have all the snow/Christmas items, textures, etc. added to base editing?? We have entire zones (especially the one accessible by Null the Gull), events, and missions dedicated to wintery goodness. I just wanna make my own winter wonderland in my main base. I've been nice! Not even a bit naughty. 😉

Props to Dacy. Your videos/threads have helped me so much. Thank you. *Hugs.*

Another request I'd make is the ability to rename the NPCs. I made a memorial park for my mother and I'd like to rename the fishing female (Sharon) to honor my mom (Lorraine) as it was her favorite pastime. Also the ability to choose a basic clothing set for a NPC. Looks pretty silly to have a female fishing in a business suit and heels.  Just something like switching between a business appearance (suit/heels) and a casual appearance (jeans/t-shirt) would be awesome.

    Really, REALLY ~need~ this!

Like all users of this forum. I have a right to ignore people that are bullying me.

Not bullying you. Expressing my opinion. Like any other user of these forums.

Still waiting for you to ignore me...

    User friendly is user friendly.

It's not a cop-out to think something should be user friendly.

You were already told. By a Dev. It works as intended. You were given options to work around your lack of effort. Not just by me but by others.

The Devs are asking for suggestion all the time.

We are ALL allowed to make suggestions.

Players make suggestions all the time.

Simply because you disagree with my suggestions doesn't mean that I don't have a right to post them.

No. You were not offering anything useful or a suggestion. You were complaining because you view it as too difficult to exert the barest effort.

You were given helpful clues to assist you and even links to improve your lack of skills. Did you even bother to read the links I provided? I doubt it. Instead you whined that the Base Editor wasn’t user friendly.

    Of course it isn’t!

It’s code work used by developers to create environments for the game. Did you seriously think that would come easily?? If you truly believe they should break the game to accommodate you, then you have issues that no one can help.

There are users/developers that have put in YEARS of trial and error work to provide guides so that the average Joe/Jane can satisfy their cravings to create their own space. Avail yourself of their labors of love.

You can post whatever/whenever you want. Don’t expect everyone to agree with you. If you don’t like my opinions? Feel free to ignore me.

Right by saying "stop whining" and that's insulting.  never said your suggestions for what to do wasn't good, I just said you can convey that message without insulting anyone and telling people to "stop whining".  I'm not outraged at all, just calling it like I see it.

I did not insult him. I expressed an opinion of his actions. Learn the difference. If you don’t like my opinions? Ignore me.

Telling a person to "stop whining" is labelling them a whiner, which to my eyes is name calling.  I've got it straight, thanks.  The folks here have also said they're looking for feedback and ideas and dreams on these forums.  you can get a point across without insulting others. working as intended doesn't mean there isn't room for improvement.

You need glasses. I didn't insult him. I called him out on his repeated lack of effort. Honesty hurts.

The individual was given feedback by a Dev. When a Dev says an aspect of the game is working as intended? Story over. There are tools to effect changes for the topic that was at hand. The individual was too lazy to avail themselves of the options presented. Let me go a step further... this person is your buddy and you're the social justice warrior defending them? Shall I sharpen your pitchfork as you gird your loins when a valid observation devastates your rose colored eye wear?

I gave the poster advice on how to use other items if the Shift button wasn't to his taste. I identified other tactics to assist using F5. Hell, I even provided links to assist him. I bet you dollars to doughnuts he never even viewed them simply because it indicated a need to exert minimal effort.

Your sense of outrage is amusing.

Rather than thanking another community member for going out of their way to assist someone, I'm getting lambasted.

    Message received.

    I no longer help strangers.

    Got you! 👍

Your point can be made without resorting to name calling.  You've lost any credibility with this.  Yeah, we all know the game is free.  The folks running it have also said they want to continue to work on it and improve it.  people offering suggestions is helpful to them.

Didn't call anyone any names. I pointed out an action, not the person. Get it straight.

Also, that individual was answered by a Dev and was told that topic they mentioned about was working as intended. The same individual then complained it wasn't user friendly. He was given help on both threads and still complained. FFS, people want everything handed to them on a silver platter without actually doing any work. ~That~ is irritating.

  11. C,C,P'd from another post of mine, begging for winter/Christmas items. I ~really~ want a winter wonderland IN my SG base... I've been good! Just ask Santa.

"Snow patches similar to the grass that can cover large sections of area. Complete with 'crunch' to mimic walking. Ice on water to mimic the frozen lakes in the NYE missions. Including the ability to 'ski' on them, along with sound effects. Mounds and hills to mimic snow piles.

Christmas trees with stars/angels on top, ornaments and multiple color lights. Available in differing sizes. Presents to go under the trees. Toys/dolls for under the trees. Garlands and wreaths for the walls. Sleighs that can be attached with reindeers.

Tables and chairs set for Christmas dinner. Turkey with gravy and dressing. Dishes filled with vegetables and sides for holidays. Table place settings for holidays.

The icicle lights from the Winter Chalet.

Some folks want winter wonderlands in their bases. 😉

    ~ End winter/Christmas begging. ~

    ~ Cue random ideas... ~

Doors that can remain open or *be opened to allow access from both sides*.

Allow plates (particularly water and grass) to be seamless, but apply to all.

    More glassware options.

More interactable NPCs. Trainers, pets that follow you or react when you touch them, etc.

Allow EVERYTHING in bases to be color coordinated.

That's why it should be fixed so that it is user friendly instead of hassle.

It's only a hassle to those without skill or fortitude

Fortunately, there is a whole thread about base issues his week, so you are ignoring the DEVs acknowledging the fact that base issues need a pass.

You're ignoring the fact that the game is free and they provide it at their behest. Instead of complaining, try the fixes or "tricks" as you call them.

You were answered by Naomi, a Developer. They are working as intended.

Be the solution, not the problem.

F.Y.I. - Enabling 'Clipping' by pressing F3 makes most of the surface attachment a moot issue. Also, F1 for the grid aspect ratio helps a lot. I use 1/2 X 1/2.

I've tried both in several of my bases and it works with minimal effort.

Just so you know... I'm no expert. It's called experimentation. I've learned through trial/error, asking my guru (whose name I'll only provide in DMs as I don't wish my friend to be inundated) plus using the forums and Discord discussions. I even provided you with links to improve your skills. Did you even check the links?? You could Google specific issues and find numerous links or YouTube videos.

    Stop whining.

    It's still a trick.

    It doesn't fix the problem.

I would like to see the problem fixed.

What you call a problem the developers call opportunity.

They don't have to give us this function at all. Stop complaining. Be grateful the game exists and you can have your own SG base without needing Prestige.

Shifting things up and down is a royal pain sometimes.

You can also use other objects to lay the item upon and remove it after. It requires a good deal of experimentation but it's effective.

There are very few shortcuts in base editing.

Fix a bunch of the table that don't have a surface on top because currently when you place stuff on top of a lot of them they sink into the table top - sometimes completely beneath it.

You can use the Shift button to drag these items up and down.

Use F1 to disable/enable grid options to make it easier to place such items on tables/surfaces.

Don't forget F5 to attach to a surface in some circumstances.

Being able to set a music track for a room.

You can't, per room. However, you can for the entire base. See the Base Builders' Cheat Sheet under the slash commands > music.

Ok,  brain hurts. All I can muster up for now.

I've just peeked the "Winter Forest". It's on HC live, through Null the Gull. Most of what I want is already IN the game. It's just a matter of making it available to the masses.
