  1. Ironically, Instant Healing *was* a toggle until issue 5.

As for the set itself, my main was a Spines/Regen Scrap maxed out with a mix of defense and regeneration bonuses. In PvE, just pop a purple before jumping into an alpha strike and you'd be good to go. In PvP, Regen was and still is godly.

  2. Hello everyone! One of my all time favorite Brutes on live was Soul Blaze. A Fire/SD Brute that I used for Missions/TF/Trials.

For this build, I focused on soft capping positional defenses first. Then, I went for max recharge, solid resistances and max HP. I also have the option of trading 7% S/L resistance for 12% PSi/Toxic resistance by moving the 5th Lotgs off of Maneuvers and Weave and 6 slotting two purple sets. I figured the S/L would be more important?

If you see any glaring issues or something I could change to make it even better, please let me know! Thanks.

  3. I think she looks pretty solid. A little light on recharge, but I like how you have a LOT of added resistance to the build.

I am actually trying to beat your resistances for my own personal build (Fire Melee/Shield) and finding it quite difficult to get my PSI and Toxic resis to your levels.

  4. Can someone post an "all out" Fire/Fire build? I've been trying to put one together for a friend and I'm finding it quite difficult! I like to think I do a good job on building toons, but Sents for me stumped.

I wanted to give her soft capped Ranged defense and then go for resistance and recharge, but it seems like I may need to build for soft capped Melee defense? Thanks!

Spines fire can be better than Rad but it requires the user to line up throw spines to hit more targets.  For lazy people like me Rad ends up being better.

And yes it takes out bosses faster as you will likely only have 1 single target melee attack on either and Lunge does less damage than Radioactive Smash

If you just jump vertically and activate Throw Spines, it hits everything. Had been doing that since issue 5 with my Spines/Regen.

  6. I would give the edge to the Brute based on your needs. Survivability is much better and easier to build up on a Brute. As far as damage goes, solo, you'll build up fury quickly. And on a team, you should have a decent amount of buffs to fill the gap where you might have trouble maintaining fury.

  7. I would say the most expensive build I've put together, on a given day, was just around 900 million. That was an Ice/Mental/Ice Blaster with ATOs, Winter sets and Purples.

I am trying to remember back in the day.. did it really cost more than 2bil sometimes? I guess the market costs were much higher back then, but I also feel like drop rates for rate items are much higher than on live.

  8. Hey all, I'm looking to put together an all around solid WM/Bio Brute. I have enough influence saved for the craziest of builds!

It seems like nearly every power needs to be taken in Bio and War Mace is a requirement because this particular toon needed to have a "wooden club." However, I'm not real in the know about WM. I want this toon for solo and team play. More for missions and TF over farming.

Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙏 And, of course, I'll do my part and throw up my attempt at it.

OK, so I made the above character on Justin and tested it out. Worked out better than I expected:

    Radiation Melee/Bio Armor Scrapper

    T4 Musculature Radial Paragon

    T4 Degenerative Radial Flawless Interface

    T4 Ageless Core Epiphany

    Hybrid Off:

    1:48
    1:47
    2:11
    2:17
    1:55

    Peaked at 1:47, 486 DPS

    Hybrid On:

    1:25
    1:40
    1:27
    1:52
    1:48

    Peaked at 1:25, 579 DPS

So, yeah. Rad Melee's pretty good, Moonbeam is pretty good, and procs are pretty good. Nice thing about Rad Melee is that it offers great AoE as well, I suspect this character could farm quite nicely.

Any chance to could share that build! That's impressive.

  10. I actually farm the fire farms in AE quite often with my Ice/Mental/Ice. It's a great combo and I feel quite tough. If you're interested, I'll share the build when I get home.

    EDIT: Here you go.

    Regen/Energy Melee tanker

What do you mean, this is for joke builds that don't take any actual powers, and instead intentionally gimp themselves by avoiding good options?

This is legitimately the worst power combo in the game, most likely - Regen is an atrocious defensive set built entirely on a one trick pony with little to no mitigation of its own, and Energy Melee got continually nerfed - it was nerfed in i4, i7, i10, briefly buffed in i11 to i7 levels, nerfed in i12, i14, and I think i16. It's just terrible, one of the worst damaging melee sets in the game across all archetypes.

Energy Melee's saving grace was always Energy Transfer for its incredible damage to activation time. It made it all worth it for the solid ET -> TF combo.. until they murdered it.

As for regen, I have a soft spot for it and a pretty crazy build for it. I'll look and see if I can find it. I think I had it almost 800hp/s without IH on. I could be off on those numbers, though. It was crazy being able to tank alpha strikes.

  12. So, I noticed my EMP merits dropped from 20 every three levels to just 10. I'm at work now, so I can't check to see if I'm Vet level 100, but is that why it would drop to just 10?

I use the EMPs mostly for Winter sets, but if it's just 10 now, I think it would be quicker to just turn off XP and farm for inf. I have yet to run the numbers on efficiency, though.

Both Core and Radial t4 work, or just one of them?  I picked Reactive for my scrapper since she solos more than she teams, but if Reactive isn't working properly (despite the yellow glows I see on mobs after I hit them, indicating interface proc success), then I may have to rebuild... o_O

I can say I used to take Reactive and never saw any yellow glow in mobs (I didn't even know to check for it)

Recently, I decided to give Degen a chance on my spines fire and see that yellow glow ALL the time. So I would say it definitely isn't working correctly on Reactive.
