QOL Suggestion

Not sure where's the best place to post suggestions, so here i am;

 

It would be really helpful if the chat window would show a person's global name along with char name; like-
@Radamand:Mox Ruby  or

Radamand@Mox Ruby

 

I know you can look it up manually, but its an extra step that really isn't needed.

Just an idea, give it a thought.

There's a forum specifically for suggestions.  🙂  It is called, perhaps unimaginatively, Suggestions & Feedback, and is two forums above this one in the main list.  🙂

 

EDIT: and I see that a moderator has waved their Wand of Translocation, because POOF, here we are. 🙂

It cannot be done, currently. The Account Server (The @Globalname managing Server) is separate from the Mapserver, which is where you exist in the game world and interact with people. Once you've logged in, the game is Globalname Agnostic unless some specific call -makes- it check your global name (Like when someone sends a Tell to your account, or uses the /getglobalname function).

 

For it to be changed to check the account server every time you sent a message into any chat, it would drastically increase the number of operations per second as thousands of people queried the account server every time the global, help, or LFG chat got bombed with messages.
