Necrodomis Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 Hello! So, I realized I this machine, an ASUS gaming laptop, lying around and started using it. It has played games such as Guild Wars 2, SWTOR, and various other games- INCLUDING CITY OF HEROES!!! But now I'm getting this error when I start the game up (see attached photo). I have tried to update the drivers via the amd site, the asus site, everything I can figure out. I still get this error. I did an "installation report", here are the results of that: Catalyst™ Install Manager Installation Report 05/12/19 20:39:39 Hardware information Name AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5800 Series Manufacturer Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. I can't find a NEWER driver. I don't know if I need an older driver, maybe? I'm at my wits end, folks. Halp!! AS AN EDIT, AS OF 5/12/2019 at about 10PM CST: I did a "cleanup" of drivers with DDU (display drivers uninstaller) and redid the update...now it claims I've updated to August of 2015...is it eventually going to catch up with itself? https://imgur.com/a/VWOyhma
Retired Game Master GM Xellx Posted May 13, 2019 Retired Game Master Posted May 13, 2019 Hi there Necrodomis, Intergrated graphics are a right pain! More so on legacy devices! https://www.amd.com/en/support/graphics/amd-radeon-hd/ati-radeon-hd-5000-series/ati-radeon-hd-5870 Try the drivers there for your OS (make sure to pick correct x64 or x86 version that matches your OS you are using) See if that helps at all. If not, we can delve deeper if need be.
Necrodomis Posted May 13, 2019 Author Posted May 13, 2019 I did that last night. Clean indtall. All it did was change the date of the drivers. Still gave me the same error.
