mbisho1 Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 I'm playing a fully decked level 54 Incarnate Stalker, and sidekicking a level 22 Scraper. I can have an entire group down to half health, but the moment he steps in they all focus on him. Do stalkers natually drop aggro or somthing? he's not taunting, nor is he hitting a lot?
siolfir Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 Without knowing the powersets, I'm guessing that the most likely cause is an aggro (taunt) aura in their secondary powerset. Beyond that, each AT has a threat modifier which is used as a base for drawing aggro. It's low for Stalkers (2, I think?), higher for Scrappers, and highest for Tankers - but that shouldn't have an effect if you're actively hitting the mobs and the Scrapper isn't.
Omega-202 Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Threat Scrappers have scale 3 aggro generation. Stalkers have scale 2. So a Stalker needs to do 150% of a Scappers damage to pull aggro off of them, all other things being equal. Stalkers may out damage Scrappers in the right situations, but you're not doing 1 and 1/2 times the damage. Other things to consider: are you running a -threat toggle? Superspeed, stealth etc.? Those could all be lowering your threat, making it even more difficult to pull aggro.

A level 50(+3) incarnated Stalker vs a level 22 Scrapper probably is, if for no other reason than due to the sheer number of slots available. The wiki on threat is good information otherwise, though. I'm still leaning towards the Scrapper having one of the autohit taunt auras active. At level 22, that would be: Bio / Evolving Armor Energy Aura / Entropic Aura (the mez protection toggle) Rad Armor / Beta Decay Shield / Against All Odds Willpower / Rise to the Challenge

I didn't see the levels in the OP, and missed the part about "not hitting a lot". However, I don't think that it still wouldn't be a close "race" for aggro when the Scapper only has to do 2/3 the damage of the Stalker to keep pace. Sidekicking is a hell of a thing for scaling up damage. Also to note, some attacks are better at pulling aggro than others. Debuffs and controls have their own additional threat scalars, so an attack that just does damage pulls less aggro than one that does the same damage and also debuffs/controls. I can't recall the sets that this affects the most.
