Tulvadar Posted January 27, 2020 Posted January 27, 2020 I can not get the game to start. Tequila starts and then just disappears. Any help would be appreciated
JMark1 Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 Likewise. I've been playing since May 2019. All of a sudden, today, upon every attempt to boot the game, I get nothing except the following message from Homecoming Crash Manager: Unfortunately, the City of Heroes client encountered an unexpected error and must close. The error occurred in cityofheroes.exe at relative address 0x5b67b. I have Windows 10 machine. Everything has been fine until today.
Lead Game Master GM Korvin Posted January 28, 2020 Lead Game Master Posted January 28, 2020 Are you able to submit a crash report from the Crash Handler? That'll be the best way to help resolve these kinds of issues. Interested in supporting Homecoming? Consider applying to become a Game Master!
JMark1 Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 This happened with the beta manifest xml selected. I tried switching to another manifest xml which gave me a list of errors and wouldn't allow me to load the game earlier. But now, all of a sudden, the alternative xml has worked and I was able to load the game again. I'll attach the crash report generated from using the beta manifest xml anyway. cityofheroes-7z05qyp0vv18n5tnp6wk164a65.report
Lead Game Master GM Korvin Posted January 28, 2020 Lead Game Master Posted January 28, 2020 Our manifests went through a few mix-ups from what I recall - wrong game client executables; it was fixed a little while back, so you'll probably find that the regular manifest should work just fine now, if you revalidate your files and so on.
