Hey guys!
I'm new to the game and am planning on doing a Mind/Psi/Psi Dominator that is capable of soloing fairly well (i realize it won't be the best soloer, but i just don't want to depend on groups all the time). I know there are better options for dominators for this purpose, but i like the psychic theme and would like to stick with it. I've read past topics about this type of build, however i don't understand the game very well and did not understand most of what i've read. If anyone can give me some sort of enlightment on understanding how to build my character, i'd very much appreciate it.

Not sure this will help it may be out of date now but its got perma dom/hasten/link minds and has never died. The problem is its pretty dull to play.

Thank you very much for the reply! In therms of survivability, do you think this build works? Is it softcapped to any type of defense? You think that not having terrify was bad for the progression of your character? In your opinion, is it worth to invest in melee damage such as mind probe?
Sorry for many questions, i'm really trying to build something functional but don't know where to start

Ok, seing other forums i tried to put something together. My goal is to have mind probe since it seems to be a very good melee power. However, this build is not softcapped in any defense, and i don't know how problematic that can be, since the intention is to mez enemies all the time. It is also very close to permahasten and is permadom

Posted build runs over 45% ranged. Pop mass hypnosis, jump in the mob, drain psyche, psy shockwave stun, hop back out and pew pew with single target attacks/holds/sleeps. It dosnt have a lot of melee defence but it has never been killed playing in melee mostly due to the controls and drain psyches massive regen. You don't need terrify on the build. It would be nice to fit psi nado in for some aoe but i can't give up leadership theres nothing worse than having bad accuracy or getting hit with - perception stuff or smoke nades that make mobs completely invis. OK....just looked at your build. First you have 7 sets giving 10% recharge when only 5 will be applied. You 3 slotted hasten when 2 lvl 50 boosted pieces will give you the same. You don't have perma hasten so at some point it will drop most likely meaning domi will drop too, i know you don't need the same rech for both but it makes things a lot easier building for perma dom if you just build for perma hasten. Dominate is your best power and its best slotting is a boosted acc/dmg hami piece with 5 damage procs or a boosted ranged acc/dmg if you can't afford the 5 nucleus exposures to combine together. Which makes me look at my build again and realise how out of date it is.

 

 

Ok i threw together a rough build for you to look at, 45%+ranged defence again. Perma hasten/dom/drain psyche. Swap out tactics+psi nado for terrify+psy scream with artillery set+posi set for even more ranged def same recharge. Swap manouvres for hover, still pretty much same numbers if your not fussed about proper travel powers. Its rough build just to show you how to hit defence numbers while maintaining recharge without going over the rule of 5, 5 luck of the gamblers, 5 purple sets. Definitely not a levelling build. I had slots left over and threw in stuff that isnt needed like the 2nd slot in health or the end red/def pieces in leadership and weave:
