Max Character on Account Login?

So I tried setting up my CoH account today.  DesertPenguin67 as my login in name.  Everything went well until I tried to login to the game.  I guess there is a 14 character? Can't enter the 7.   Would have been nice to know that earlier.  So I guess I have to setup a new account to play?  Any info would be helpful.

Wow this is super late, if you've already got help elsewhere awesome, but just in case https://forums.homecomingservers.com/gameaccount/  This page should not let you enter a name any longer than the maximum.  You don't log into the game with your Forum username, but with the account name you setup on that page.
