GoldenAvariel Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 I've been leveling up my corruptor with nature affinity and as I get into the harder levels I'm finding a very annoying trend with my toggles. Two of the three have a tendency to turn off for no discernable reason aside from being engaged in combat. While my spore debuff toggle tends to stay on the whole time, the entangling aura and lifegiving spores turn off often. As far as I can tell, a knockback will always do it, even if I'm not stunned, i.e. I never see the red status message and I'm able to immediately react after standing back up, no break free needed. Sometimes it doesn't even take a kb, just getting close and hitting me while avoiding the vines will sometimes (rarely) cause it. I never see anything in the combat log to indicate anything other than damage or knockdown... nothing I'd think would cause the toggle to fail. I understand (I guess) if I actually get stunned or held but I have other squishy-type characters and their toggles tend to stay on most of the time, sometimes even while mezzed (they might not be working but they don't turn off either). I don't understand why those two in NA are so finicky. Or am I the only one this happens to?
Uun Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 I have a lvl 50 /nature controller and have not experienced this. All 3 toggles turn off if you're mezzed (even just for a second). They will also turn off if your endurance is drained and you don't have enough to run them. Knockback and damage have no effect. Spore Cloud will stay on after the target is defeated, but will turn off after the body disappears or if you move too far away. Lifegiving Spores will also turn off if you move too far away, but its got a really long range. The toggles that stay on while mezzed (but are supressed) are armors, leadership and travel. Uuniverse
GoldenAvariel Posted January 23, 2021 Author Posted January 23, 2021 Ok so do mez effects not show in the combat log? Because I certainly don't see it in these circumstances I'm talking about. At least not outside of the "You have been knocked down" announcement. Not to say there weren't times where I knew why they turned off. I was fighting Crey and I know they have a lot of mez effects. I mean if I'm in a solid block of ice or staggering around, even for only a moment, or get shot by an ambushing Sapper, then I totally understand even if I don't like it. But that's not what I'm talking about. Oh well, just me I guess.
Uun Posted January 24, 2021 Posted January 24, 2021 I just checked. Stuns appear in the combat log in dark orange (damage received), followed by the message "You are unable to use any powers!" in orange (general combat). Spore Cloud, Livegiving Spores and Entangling Aura were all detoggled, as messages in orange appear when they're recharged. 1 Uuniverse
GoldenAvariel Posted January 24, 2021 Author Posted January 24, 2021 The one I remember had the knockdown notification in dark orange just after the to-hit and damage lines of the attack that hit me. Immediately before that was the XP from the last enemy in the previous fight and immediately after (actually just prior to the KD notice) was a note that I had triggered an attack, then the KD, the to-hit in yellow, then damage and finally the XP I got for his defeat. That was followed by the rest of the fight. Intermixed in there was the recharge notice for Lifegiving Spores and, well after the fight was over, the notice that the aura was recharged. That's pretty much the kind of thing I saw in the other times I reviewed the log during the mission before I stopped bothering to turn them on. My logs folder is empty so I can't review it in more detail to see if it happened further back and I just hadn't noticed. It is conceivable I wasn't even looking in the right place but since I tended to look immediately after the fights while I waited for stuff to recharge, I don't think that's the case. I'll try again and try to pay more attention next time. Thanks for the information though.
