Kinetics feedback

Been racking my brain trying to think of a secondary to go with my Thugs.  I know there are probably stronger sets (Time/Dark/Traps get mentioned a lot), but I have my eye on Kinetics. It sounds a lot of fun, and fun is the name of the game when solo levelling on missions which is what I will be doing. Can anyone give me feedback on this set for MM's. Is it fun? Is it good/bad? What powers in the set are must haves and which are skippable if any?

 

Would Kinetics go better with another primary??
