Slot Help Time/Fire

So I am a complete noob, and am unsure 100% how to slot. I looked at lots of posts with expensive sets for slotting and such as that. I can't afford that stuff so far so I was curious if anyone could look at what I currently have and let me know if I am doing it correctly or with I should change a few things.OR if I am just completely off base as a DEFENDER. Then where to go from there and maybe a few cheaper sets that can function compared to some of the super expensive ones so I can start filling in sets over SIO. I am only lvl 32 so far, and my character's goal is to be able to solo, and when grouped to stand in the middle with the brawlers and help use my Aura to debuff the mobs to hit.
