Zodai Posted June 10, 2019 Posted June 10, 2019 Hello - I'm currently unable to change the gamma value on my game, after it was recommended as a possible way of reducing eye strain/general exhaustion while playing the game I can change the value in the options menu, but within a second after releasing the button from the value bar, the screen returns to the default gamma value. This is before Apply Changes is even pressed to finalize the change. Pressing Apply Changes to finalize the change does not fix the issue - sometimes when I tab out and back into the game, the gamma value is at the correct level for when I tab back in, but it quickly resets back to the default gamma value. I currently use Flux, as that was a noted possible issue, but even setting flux to be disabled while playing City of Heroes, or disabling it altogether, does not fix the issue. Could anyone help me to diagnose the issue and find a fix? Nice to meet you, I write stuff! 😄 "A person can easily become the giver or receiver of pain. Venture Posted June 10, 2019 Posted June 10, 2019 This is an utter guess on my part. Are you playing in windowed or full screen windowed mode? Just wondering if it's picking up the gamma from your monitor, not in game maybe? No idea if possible at all btw.
Zodai Posted June 10, 2019 Author Posted June 10, 2019 I'm playing in what I understand to be full screen mode, just going off the resolution that's the same as my monitor. I believe it's 1920x1080 (default) but will have to check to be sure. EDIT: I forgot to mention as well - when starting up the game, it's possible to have if begin while the window is inactive. When this happens, the gamma applies to the non-game parts of the window (whatever is on the desktop at the time) before repeating the same result as previously.
