jack_nomind
Hey all. I've been working on some end-game generalist Brute builds to share. Here's what I have so far. None of these use purples, to keep the cost manageable. "Ghaste" is with Hasten turned on. All builds include an (active) alpha slot, no other Incarnates slotted. Brute - Staff Fighting/Super Reflexes # Permahasten: Yes Ghaste: 170 Notes: Monstrously tough with Body and Soul Staff procs. Brute - Titan Weapons/Radiation Armor Permahasten: Yes (with 7+ enemies in range) Ghaste: 135% - 157.5% Notes: Shocked this combo isn't more common. Brute - Martial Arts/WillpowerPermahasten: No Ghaste: 137.5% Notes: with 1 enemy in range, 70 hp/s with accolades off and 80 hp/s with them on. Defense numbers include Storm Kick. Brute - Electric Melee/Stone ArmorPermahasten: No Ghaste: 118.75% Notes: This is a non-Granite version. Electric Melee adds a teleport and some END management to SA, so I thought this would synergize well. It was a surprisingly tough build to finish. Brute - Spines/Fiery AuraPermahasten: No Ghaste: 106.25 Notes: Deliberately cheap (and generalist) version of Spines/FA. Brute - Katana/Electric ArmorPermahasten: Yes Ghaste: 146.25% Notes: Another "tougher than I expected" build; sacrificed Flashing Steel. Capped resist to -rech/slow. No-Set Builds: Tanker Scrapper Brute Stalker
Sapphire Lotus
These are amazing, hoping you continue to do this and for the other archtypes as well :) Thank you.
Bjornalf
Hi, I tried to make a variant of your MA/WP build into my Psi/WP one... My numbers are close (i switched a couple of powers, namely boxing and cross punch, to use more of my primary attacks and wanted mystic flight as a travel power so dumped hasten for it.) Also I'm tempted to replace the 2 Def IOs in HPT with Impervium Armor Resist & Psi Resist. It's 1.27% lower on defense overall for 6% more psi defense. I have two questions... 1) How does Storm Kick, which says it gives positional defense (Melee, Ranged, AoE) raise all the defense numbers? 2) why are my numbers (with your storm kick, off) about .3-.6% off? (I'm using Pine's version 2.22 for i25/Homecoming) here's what I got: Hero Plan by Mids' Hero Designer 2.22 http://www.cohplanner.com/ Click this DataLink to open the build! jack_nomind
wanted mystic flight as a travel power so dumped hasten for it. You can make anything work, but dropping Hasten will always drop your damage significantly. Since you're already giving up well over half of the Defense of the build without Storm Kick, it might be easier to just lose Combat Jumping. Also I'm tempted to replace the 2 Def IOs in HPT with Impervium Armor Resist & Psi Resist. It's 1.27% lower on defense overall for 6% more psi defense. You're losing that ~1.3% on psi, so it's ~4.7% better psi. So what you're trading is about ~1/18th of your mitigation to both slashing and lethal for is about ~1/12th more mitigation to psionic. It might be worth it if psionic damage was more common or a bigger threat than s/l, but I'd say it's overall a bad trade. 1) How does Storm Kick, which says it gives positional defense (Melee, Ranged, AoE) raise all the defense numbers? All but Psionic, in-game. The power description is misleading, the effects are correct. 2) why are my numbers (with your storm kick, off) about .3-.6% off? (I'm using Pine's version 2.22 for i25/Homecoming) You inadvertently changed two of the High Pain Tolerance slots to use level 40 enhancements instead of Level 50 ones. Bjornalf
OK but where would I put the IOs that are in CJ? You're losing that ~1.3% on psi, so it's ~4.7% better psi. So what you're trading is about ~1/18th of your mitigation to both slashing and lethal for is about ~1/12th more mitigation to psionic. It might be worth it if psionic damage was more common or a bigger threat than s/l, but I'd say it's overall a bad trade. is that all that bad with practically capped S/L resist? if so I can put them back. All but Psionic, in-game. The power description is misleading, the effects are correct. Ok Pines is wrong there... fair enough. You inadvertently changed two of the High Pain Tolerance slots to use level 40 enhancements instead of Level 50 ones. well those are 40 cause impervium only goes to 40.. but yes somehow those 2 slots were only going in as 40.. fixed it and the numbers match.
