BeornOTNS Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 One of the things that still escapes me is how incarnate powers would affect an as-close-as-possible-perma-MindLink build. Agility Paragon? What about the damage of Musculature? Also, I keep seeing how Night Widow is a "cheaper" build as opposed to Fortunata. Okay, but how? I have FINALLY gotten Pines loaded on my machine after completely removing Mids from my computer (since builds would go default Mids and would therefore NOT be able to load anything with Issue 25 set ups on it and glitch out), but my messing around with it just seems... anemic? Anyhoo, I can always get more inf for a build... So, while cheaper would mean playing the NW sooner, adding purples and Hamis would totally be on the table. Anyone have a build they could drop in the forums? I am looking for a jumping off point. Much obliged in advance! ~Beorn I love ALL Archetypes, but prefer to play them Blue-Side.
BeornOTNS Posted June 19, 2019 Author Posted June 19, 2019 And, before I forget it, what Judgement suits a Widow? I mean, Vorpal probably, but, maybe Void? ~B I love ALL Archetypes, but prefer to play them Blue-Side.
Figment_ Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 I use Musculature on my widow because while I was nigh-unkillable unless Rularru are involved, my damage felt anemic. In groups damage feels okay, but solo I can survive standard stuff forever but it also takes me a long time to finish off a +3 or +4 x8 group of enemies. Better now with the incarnate stuff loaded up, but in the early incarnate levels I was using Judgment every spawn because it was off cooldown. The Assault Hybrid helps a good amount too when it's up. I went Barrier for the party/raid rez and to shore up defenses when cascading defense failure starts to happen. Interface was the toxic proc, Degenerative I think. Judgement, I took Ion because I wanted to hit more targets on incarnate content and raids and such, but Vorpal is thematic for sure. Lore is personal preference, I think. I took Arachnos just because. Forts are more expensive because Mind Link recharges in 240 seconds out of the box on Night Widows, but it takes 300 seconds on the Fortunata side. That means that you need a good hunk more recharge to get it perma, which usually means more purples or other pricy sets.
Figment_ Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 Oh, and here's a build, because I'm silly and forgot. It's not my final build but I don't have anything more pricy than this in my 'final' setup. This is a good stepping off point to make your own. I altered this by taking dart burst and not slash, and some powers moved around to accommodate. Flux Vector Posted June 23, 2019 Posted June 23, 2019 I recommend this build to people who want an effective NW. It uses no purples, no ATOs, and no PVP IOs. If you are going to go into the realm of using those, I'd recommend looking at Fortunata instead; the only thing I ever missed when going from NW to Fortunata is Elude. Highlights: Optimal self-buffed attack chain for widows available (Follow Up - Lunge - Strike - Slash/Swipe) Softcapped to all 3 positions with some debuff padding. 3 seconds off perma-hasten. Aid Self. Elude to counter defense debuffers/for incarnate content. Benefits from most Alpha slots. Can substitute any travel power. sainttbish4400 Posted June 25, 2019 Posted June 25, 2019 These are extremely helpful. I'm new to this AT (despite my heavy altoholism). Can you recommend a rotation/priority system for group play? Thanks.
Flux Vector Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 These are extremely helpful. I'm new to this AT (despite my heavy altoholism). Can you recommend a rotation/priority system for group play? Thanks. Follow up - lunge - strike - swipe. If AOE - follow up - lunge - strike - spin. If NW - every other rotation single target, use Slash instead of Swipe. You can also try to work in eviscerate instead of Swipe if you like. @Flux Vector Formerly from Virtue
