Frequently getting 'Event does not exist' messages in Global Chat... long after leaving the Arena

These 'Event does not exist' messages appear related to the Arena, but do not seem associated with any channel that can be added or removed. I first began receiving them when sparring in the arena for a bit with a friend. They appeared frequently while creating events and being invited to them. At the time, I largely ignored it as a minor issue.

However, those messages CONTINUED to roll in regularly after I left the arena behind and started fighting in another zone. One will appear every time I zone, and sometimes just from moving around the map. Even after rebooting the game completely, turning the entire PC off and on again, the messages are persisting. At this point, they seem to have just attached themselves permanently to the character, which is... troublesome. Some solution would be appreciated, even if it's just a work-around for silencing the messages for now...

The arena has an old bug that never got fixed where players that exit the map after the first person are "locked" into their now completed arena event. The game keeps checking for the event, but it isn't there any more, and it thinks you are trying to get into it. From personal experience, the more arena events you do, the more those messages stack up for each prior run. It doesn't always increase like that, but the messages will continue until the memory is purged. Most easily accomplished by logging off the game and then logging back on. Though I've heard of players that needed to actually clear their computer memory to actually get the messages to go away.

I should note that the arena event is still tracked by the game, and it shows it on a list of events if you do a search for it. I don't know how long the game tracks that data for, but it seems like the game is trying to access the historical event like it is an active event, but can't, giving the event does not exist message.

Well, I figured it was arena-related... but, as mentioned above, I've logged out and back in again several times since my one bout of arena-matches, to no avail. Several days have passed, and the messages are only multiplying, basically taking over the entire Global Chat window at times. I'd try to 'clear my computer memory', if I knew what that meant! I mean, I've rebooted my computer on more than one occasion since, so the RAM has been flushed - and I can't imagine there's anything on my hard-drive, since the whole thing is running on the SERVER...

The only thing I can say is to look up how to clear the memory cache for your system OS. You can also shut off the computer and leave it off for at least 20 seconds to see if that helps you. A simple restart won't be enough. Sorry I'm not more help than that.

Edit: Just make sure what you look up tells you how to wipe/clear your memory cache, and not how to free up memory. (I use a program that does it for me, but those are kinda risky....)

I've already had it turned off for, like, multiple hours, on several occasions. Gotta do things like sleep, eat and work on occasion, after all. Now, granted, simply turning your machine off and on again won't clear that cache unless you've manually disabled Fast Boot, but Restarting WILL, and I HAVE. Still no change, still getting assailed by these messages.

EDIT: Got a hold of a GM in-game, who suggested that this problem would likely be cleared by either A: Staying logged-out for 24 hours or more, or B: waiting for the server reset that happens every Tuesday morning. Just putting it in here for anyone who has the same problem and is searching for a solution! For now, I suppose I'm waiting for Tuesday... 😛
