TheMultiVitamin Posted November 11 Posted November 11 One of the things I was surprised to find, I'd love if there were a few enhancements and IO Sets that increased the duration of buff powers and the like. It'd make builds a bit more diverse and allow our builds to focus on what we want them to focus on. Primary example is the Brute Street Justice power Combat Readiness, it only lasts 10 seconds but I'd love to bump that up to have it last just a bit longer to actually get me combo's out, rather then just hitting a finisher and hoping I manage to get a combo up in time enough to hit a finisher again. 2
Uun Posted November 11 Posted November 11 Powers are designed to either have their duration enhanced or the magnitude of their effects enhanced, not both. Powers with status effects (hold, stun, immobilize, sleep, fear, confuse, taunt, placate) have the duration of their effects enhanced. Powers that buff/debuff (heal, +regen, absorb, endurance, recovery, defense, tohit, accuracy, movement speed, hit points) have the magnitude of their effects enhanced. Their a few buffs/debuffs that can't be enhanced (recharge, damage, -regen). The game engine doesn't permit what you're asking for. Specific to Combat Readiness, all Build Up type powers have an unenhanceable 10s duration. That's unlikely to be changed. Uuniverse

Damn, was unaware that the engine itself wouldn't allow for it, thanks for the info!
TheMoncrief Posted November 12 Posted November 12 Allowing duration enhancement would also make for *MUCH* better uptime of some long recharge buffs. Just consider if you could buff Hasten's duration - you can already cut its recharge in half (well, close) with 2 enhancement slots, being able to double its duration would make it close to permanent without any global recharge in your build at all. And a variety of other powers would be similarly effective. Heck, we might see the days of perma-Elude return. I mean, I loved my perma-Elude Scrapper back in issue 2, but the game is better off without it. This is not the buff to armor sets t9 ultimate powers that we need. They're still working on these things - it wasn't all *THAT* long ago that they took away recharge enhancements working in Rune of Protection. If the game had been balanced from the beginning around the concept of enhancing buff durations, it could have been made to work. But in its current state, it would kick off a massive wave of rebalancing just to compensate for this improved uptime. Just a lot of work for the devs for the payout of eventually having things return to more or less where they are now after who knows how much dev time and effort spent unbreaking all the things that got broken. 1
