SO, THE ONLY WAY TO RUN A TRUE TEAM OF 8 TF AT +4/8 SETTINGS WITH 4 PEEPS TO ENSURE MAX DIFF. WOULD BE TO ADVERT FOR 8 FOLKS AND KICK THEM OFF... DOWN TO TEAM SIZE OF 4. NOT 100% SURE OF ANY OF THIS... THAT IS WHY I TURN TO THE BOARDS. What you are saying here is contradictory to 4 hours ago, shortguy on indom said: As of 2008-03-05 Task Forces will always spawn according to the number of members associated with the team, no matter if they are online or not. If 4 people start the Synapse Task Force, and one logs out, the groups will still spawn as if there were 4 people on the team. If the person instead quits the task force, then the spawns will scale for 3 people. If you kick 4 of your 8 players off the team? It's the same as if they had quit except that you now have 4 upset players over being invited and then booted. (Edit: Just so we are clear, what the wiki is saying is that TFs/SFs cannot have a smaller spawn size than the number of player characters on the team, regardless of whether logged on or not. However, TFs/SFs can have a larger spawn size than the number of player characters on the team, as set by the team leader's difficulty settings. The whole point of the x2-x8 settings is so that players would stop inviting other players to their team and then booting them if those other players did anything other than just enter the mission.) IF THE SPAWN SIZE FOR A TEAM OF FOUR RUNNING CONTENT AT +4/8 IS THE SAME SPAWN SIZE AND DIFFICULTY AS AN EITEAM OF EIGHT RUNNING THE SAME SETTINGS... THEN WHY NOT. THE GAME DEVS ARE ADULTS AND AS SUCH BELIEVE THEY CAN CHOOSE AND/OR WALK AWAY FROM WHATEVER THEY WANT. WHY WOULD 96% OF THE PLAYER BASE THAT DOES NOT SOLO TFS CARE ABOUT THIS?... GOOD QUESTION. I have no clue what you are trying to say here. The rewards for running a 4-person team on a TF/SF set for 8 is that you get the drops, xp, and inf' from those extra spawns. That is more than ample reward for a smaller team tackling a TF or SF as if a whole team.

IT WILL REMAIN AS SUCH, UNLESS THEY QUIT THE TF. SORRY MY MISTAKE, SHOULD HAVE SAID LOG-OFF. PvP Capture the Flag! Bring some fun into it....

And why would anyone join a TF/SF just to log off, either to another character to do anything else or from the game? The whole point of the difficulty settings, particularly the x8 setting, was to enable players to face spawns as if they were on a team of that size. So while I can't guarantee the spawns are equal in size between running solo at x8 and having a full team of 8, the way the difficulty settings are set up, players should very much be encountering spawns equal to the team size setting they have selected. No need for anyone to join and log off. That was why the difficulty settings were added in the first place.
shortguy on indom Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 I JUST LIKE TO PLAY AND HAVE FUN. YALL FIGURE OR HAVE ALREADY FIGURED IT OUT. PvP Capture the Flag! Bring some fun into it....

THIS IS IF THE NOTERIETY SETTINGS WORK THE WAY YOU THINK THEY DO ON THE TF/SF's... WHICH SEEMS IN OPPOSITION OF THE WIKI. WHY WOULD ME BEING A 96%er CARE ABOUT THIS? PvP Capture the Flag! shortguy on indom Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 THE OTHER THING... STARTING A 1-STAR HARD (WHICH IS SUPPOSED TO BE +1/8 NOTERIETY)... AT LEADER SETTINGS OF +3/8... IS QUITE DIFFERENT THAN WITH THE LEADER BEING AT +0/8. BUT, I SAY THIS FROM A 96% PERSPECTIVE. MAYBE A BUG, MAYBE NOT. ABOVE IN THE CONTEXT OF SPAWN SIZE... NO IDEA. BEEN AWHILE SINCE I LEAD THESE SO DONNO FOR SURE. WHEN NOT LEADING, IN A TF OR SF, ONE ONLY SEES THEIR OWN NOTERIETY, NOT WHAT THE TF/SF IS SET AT. MY OBSERVATIONS... YMMV. PvP Capture the Flag! Bring some fun into it....
