Marvel Heroes has a functioning private server setup with steam

During COH's absence I found home in Marvel Heroes until it too got shut down. Amazingly I just found out that there are some people hard at work at getting private servers up and running. There is now a functioning server emulator provided you have the copy of the game from steam.

 

 

My joy is beyond words.

Interesting.  I didn't acquire the game through Steam.  I don't recall how, but it may have been by CDs.  Assuming I can find the source, can a non-Steam setup also work?

Been a while since I visited this forum. Yes but it has to be the latest version. Here's the link on setup instructions for the server emulator: https://github.com/Crypto137/MHServerEmu/blob/master/docs/Setup/InitialSetup.md

 

Get a copy of version 1.52.0.1700 of the game client. This is the final released version of Marvel Heroes, so if you still have the game in your Steam library, you can download it from there. If you do not have the game in your Steam library, you may be able to find an archived copy of it on websites like Archive.org.

 

If you just want to play and not fuss around with setting up you own sandbox there is the project tahiti subreddit. They host a private server and things are mostly functional

When it comes to private servers, I would prefer Brawl Stars private servers. thanks null🥰

Marvel house has developed its own private server on the steam application or software to run it smoothly on all regions. Making the private servers makes game very smoothly playable in the regions.

That's awesome news! I had no idea Marvel Heroes had a functioning private server setup through Steam. I used to love this game back in the day—great mix of action RPG and Marvel fan service. The fact that the community has brought it back to life is seriously impressive. I’m definitely going to check it out and see how well it runs. Huge thanks to whoever made this possible. Hope more players jump in so we can keep the game alive and active for years to come!
