Hi all,

I like stone armor now that I see you can minimize the stone effect in costume design and it’s a strong resistance set with enough defense to soft cap s/l

How have others addressed the endurance issues and more importantly how do you hand the -speed when rooted on using granite? Is teleport the must use travel power for granite tanks? What about  hasten and super speed?

What are good secondary choices with stone armor? I was trying energy melee but not sure. Also my build plan had the -to hit power from the epic pool and also mud pots which is over 2.5 END/sec with all toggles running including sprint so I can move on and assault. Something has to give.

Check out @Sovera 's thread:

I have recently built a Stone/Fire/Psi Tanker (my current avatar pic). At lvl 50, Set IOs, and the End Discount of Harmonic Mind means that I can almost ignore my blue bar.

I don't use Granite. I'm not convinced it's needed. However, if you want to, I would think that Combat Teleport combined with binds like:

/bind ` powexec_name Combat Teleport

/bind ctrl+leftdoubleclick powexeclocation cursor Combat Teleport

Might give you the maneuverability you want.

If you decide that Darkest Night is a top priority, then you'll want to look on the Homecoming Wiki for IO sets that will help with Endurance, namely:

https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Category:Sets_that_reduce_Endurance_Cost

https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Category:Sets_that_improve_Recovery

Also, the Cardiac Alpha Incarnate slot will be a huge help.

Oh and Fire Melee on Tankers really is awesome. I have the new Cupid's Crush set in Fire Sword Circle, and it's great fun seeing the wave of hearts pop up on the enemeies.

So:

  • You can't minimize the stone effect on granite, just to be clear.  You're going to be a big rock monster in Granite.
  • Lots of people now just don't use Granite, or use it occasionally as a panic button.
  • If you do want to move around in Granite, teleport (or just Combat Teleport) is probably your most straightforward option.  I think you can, with effort, stack up speed bonuses to counteract the speed penalty for Granite, but not to my understanding the jump penalty
  • Your characterization of the armor as resistance plus S/L defense is a little weird.  In Granite, it's resist-all+defense-all.  Otherwise, it's defense to S/L/E/N/P, resist to F/C/T

Homecoming changed some things on stone armor, the most important being that Rooted no longer has any movement or jumping penalty. You can even use any travel power with rooted, it only "roots" you during the activation of the toggle. It's a big part of the reason why a lot of people just build stone armor without granite. Crystal armor now also provides and allows slotting of endurance modification, this helps with end management as you can have a combination of Stamina, Crystal Armor, and Harmonic Mind/Physical Perfection with performance shifter procs slotted.
