This *could* be a local hardware issue but I have done what I can to eliminate that possibility and it has only started since the last update.

When I do a timed logout, the timer is frequently interrupted before I get to zero, forcing me to exit the game entirely when I really just want to swap characters.

I'm mainly reporting this in hopes of further determining whether it's on my end or the update side.

I would also be grateful if anyone could point me to a list of zones where the countdown timer starts at zero. Inside SG bases seems to work for me. Not an ideal fix but at least workable. 🙂

It's a bit variable: From the i25 patch: https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Issue_25

  • Players on static maps have their logout timer reduced depending on how long they've been "out of combat" (not attacked or used foe-targeting powers):
  • 0-15 seconds: 20 second logout
  • 15-45 seconds: 15 second logout
  • 45-120 seconds: 10 second logout
  • 120+ seconds: 5 second logout
  • Players in supergroup bases, Pocket D, Ouroboros, or in a "safe zone" volume (mostly day jobs that are indoors or in protected areas) are able to log out instantly.

Is it possible your mouse or keyboard are sending extra clicks, or you have something running that mimics being at keyboard?

Note that the definition of "indoors or in protected areas" is moderately squirrelly, as Pocket D, Ouroboros, the Vault Reserves, the tram stations (including on top of the tram stations, where you're not protected at all), City Hall, and the Vanguard base or its satellite offices are all 'quick-quit' locations, while other equally-protected areas, like the universities and police stations, are not

Thanks all. I have done what I can to disconnect mouse and gamepad to see if the interrupt is caused externally. Also did look up how to disable the laptop keyboard but ran into a wall there. Old articles say you can right click and disable under device manager but that option wasn't available on my Windows 11 installation.

Anyway as long as I can log out in a 0 timer zone it's all good. Thanks again.
