Do Necro's Soul Extraction pets count toward Bodyguard damage shares?

If I pop Soul Extraction am I effectively reducing incoming damage by virtue of splitting that damage across more targets? My gut says they don't count towards BG mode but I can't seem to find a definitive answer.

Not in my experience.

Nope.

 

Bodyguard mode only kicks in if the pet is within range of Supremacy AND is commandable (with their orders set to Defensive stance plus something other than Attack e.g. Follow/GoTo/Stay).
